You'll love this unique, romantic or family escape in an authentic Mongolian Yurt equipped with tons of modern amenities. A stay at the Shanti Yurt is an unforgettable experience all year round. The "Shanti Yurt" is a haven for deep relaxation with forest views. Located on 2,5 acres of forest in Wintergreen Bragg Creek, the land offers access to nearby hiking trails, golf, West Bragg Creek day-use area, horseback riding, Elbow Falls, and 11 awesome places to dine in Bragg Creek.

The name "Shanti" means inner peace in Sanscrit and this is all about the space you will stay in. Yurts have been the primary style of home in Central Asia, particularly Mongolia, for thousands of years. Shanti Yurt was designed by a Mongolian Artist who painted by hand the wood beams and the entrance door. The Yurt arrived from Mongolian Syberia in March 2022 and we spent 3.5 months building it by ourselves (my husband Nick and myself with the help of Nick's friends). The yurt is 20ft in diameter and has an open space layout. As we were creating a space for romantic getaways and meditation retreats, we have chosen a Bohemian style for the interior.

With all its comforts, the Yurt is a GLAMPING experience - glamorous camping. The camping aspect includes occasional bugs/mosquitos that might find their way into your yurt. Please come with the mindset that this will be a unique nature immersion experience, coupled with the cushiest of comforts. At the same time, our Yurt is not a tent or a glamping dome, it is a solid and very well-insulated structure, which doesn't leak in rain, doesn't shake in wind and is toasty warm in winter.

The Shanti Yurt is part of the Bragg Creek Glamping family of retreat spaces and sits on the same property as your host's house and the Rustic Cozy Cabin (additional private guest space). Both the Cabin and the Yurt have exclusive access to their own designated outdoor areas and designated bathrooms.

- Rest easy knowing quiet hours on the property are strictly observed 10 pm-8 am
- As we are located in the forest there is no cell reception. We do have good wifi.
- Please ring firewood for the wood stove and the firepit.
- There is no running water in the yurt. We provide a water dispenser. As for the dishes - you can rinse them in the bathroom (there is dish soap/sponge) or leave them in a bucket for me to pass them through the dishwasher after you checkout.
Upon booking Shanti Yurt you agree to the following house rules:
1. No parties and no loud music outside at any time. The Rocky View County noise curfew is from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. No unreported visitors.
2. No smoking indoors and absolutely no use of illegal substances.
3. Dogs must be kept under control as the property is not fenced and guests in the Rustic Cozy Cabin may also have dogs. Please, be ready to keep your dog on a leash or use an invisible fence collar to set up a perimeter for your pet. Please pick up after your pet. Keep your dogs indoors at night as we have cougars in the area. Guests are expected to bring their dog's beds and bowls. If you come with a dog, add it to your reservation. The pet fee is 35$.
4. Check with us if there is no fire ban in the area. Igniting fire during the fireban is subject to a 1,000$ fee by the Rocky View County.
5. Please indicate the correct number of guests arriving and if you are planning to use the sofa bed. The base booking price includes 2 guests.
6. Please respect check-in and check-out times.
7. We would appreciate it if you provide your eta and your planned check-out time to help us schedule the cleaners.
8. Please shower before getting into the hot tub and wear a swimming suit.
9. Don't leave food or garbage outside to avoid attracting wildlife.

- "The location is quite pretty, but there were some issues with our dome that made the stay a bit difficult! Beginning with the first night, we got in super late. There was no power in the dome, but after messaging Leanne we found the power line outside and connected it to the dome. The next issue was the heating/ac unit in the dome - whatever we did, we couldn't get the unit to heat up the dome (which was problematic, considering how the temperatures were hovering around 12°C / 54°F with the heating unit on). It wasn't until there was enough light the next morning that I was able to see that the exhaust vent hadn't been properly connected, and while (some) hot air was blowing out the front, the cold air was blowing out the back of the unit and right back into the dome. The showers were also lukewarm at best for the first two nights, which was fine, but when we got back on our last night there was absolutely no water. After checking the tank and realizing it was dry, we called Leanne who worked on troubleshooting the issue with us (checking the water supply hose had no kinks in it, unplugging / replugging the electrical pumps, etc). Unfortunately nothing worked, so we used our water bottles for the basics for the rest of our stay. Again, the location definitely has some great potential, but there are definitely some things that need to be worked out before it's fully ready for stays!"

4. Pets must be registered. We charge a nightly pet fee of $ 25 per night. We'll ask you to send money through Airbnb after you confirm your reservation. Any unregistered pet will be charged a flat rate of $500 per month.
5. No parties and/or large social gatherings. No events, birthdays, bachelor or bachelorette stays There is a $250.00 surcharge charged to groups that are deceitful about the use of the house. Please be transparent and honest. Guests partying will be asked to vacate the property immediately without a refund.
6. We do a towel count and bed sheet count before you check-in. If at the end of the stay, there are missing towels or sheets guest will be charged accordingly. Each missing towel is $25 and each missing sheet is $35.
7. Sheets and/or towels that are stained due to your stay will also be charged. We understand there is normal wear and tear, but guest should do their utmost to keep towels and sheets the way they found them. Each stained towel will have a $25 charge. Each stained sheet is $35.
8. Check-in and Check-out times are MANDATORY unless scheduled and confirmed at a minimum of 24 hours in advance and if we can accommodate without double booking. A $50.00/hour penalty will be applied if you fail to check out by 10 am or by the agreed upon check-out time. My cleaners are on tight schedules
9. A surcharge of $100.00 per undeclared guest per night will be applied for unapproved guests. Please be honest. We must coordinate cleaners and inventory based on the number of guests that occupy the unit.
10. Please leave all shoes at the front door and do not wear them throughout the house.
11. If any personal property is damaged/lost/stolen or if the cleaning company requires additional time to clean up, you will be charged accordingly. Please do not leave any personal belongings behind during your stay. We will not be held responsible for lost/ misplaced or stolen items. If an item is left behind, we will ship the item back to you at your expense, or throw it away.
12. Lock all windows and doors if you are not home.
13. Turn off all lights when not in use.
14. If there is any maintenance issue, please get in touch with me directly so I can send someone to fix it.
15. Garbage is not to be left inside the unit upon check-out. Please dispose of all garbage inside the unit in the outdoor bins.
16. Garbage, recycling, and organic wastes are to be disposed of properly and up to city regulations. A $50.00 surcharge is charged to guests who fail to follow proper waste protocol. My cleaners will have to dedicate time to re-sort the garbage correctly.
17. No Moving / Rearranging of the furniture.
18. No unplugging of electronics like TVs, cable boxes, lamps, Roku sticks, etc.
19. There should be an outer glass/storm door before the first door (where you need to enter a code). Please DO NOT lock this door as our guests in the basement unit will have no way of getting into the property. If you do lock the door preventing other guests from entering, you will cover any costs for refunds or cancellations.
20. There is a $500 security deposit held on your card for incidental damages such as smoking or pet violations, or late checkouts.
21. Our time of operation is Monday-Sunday from 9 AM-1:30 AM EST, and our check-in time is between 4 PM-11 PM.

- "The check in process and communication with property management was great but the accommodation was less than desirable. Door placement made the entry way very tight and awkward. Two beds that comfortably sleep 2 people but the additional couch/futon was very uncomfortable. We had to buy a foam cushion topper to be able to use this as a sleeping surface. Space was very small, not ideal for 5 adults. Full kitchen with top of the line appliances and washer/dryer was great however the space heated up quickly, due to the size, when doing any cooking. Bathroom was very small with stand up shower and some mold in the shower."
