- "Awesome spot, basically a large area all by ourselves. Close to trails in the Sheep River Provincial Park. We stayed for 2 nights, there was enough room for our family of 5. The cabin is stocked with everything needed. Spent most of the time on the porch and at the fire pit when we weren't at the provincial park. It was a great, peaceful and quiet spot. If we decide to hit that area again, we will like to stay at the cabin again!" - "What a perfect location to call home base while hiking all around the provincial parks just west of Turner Valley. (Buy your park passes online for easy access to all areas). The cabin is located on some rolling hills with incredible views just a three minute jaunt up the hillside. Perfect for a picnic and watching the sunset. The cabin is well set up with everything you’d need. No running water, but plenty of filtered water. Electricity allows for refrigeration/coffee maker/microwave. There are a herd of very friendly horses that don’t mind humans or dogs….they don’t spook when you walk by. They are absolutely beautiful to watch roaming. You just close the gate upon entering and leaving the property to keep them inside their acreage. We also saw plenty of deer and foxes as well. Great home base for exploring the Canadian wilderness! Thank you!"

- "May 2024 stay with family - The cabin had everything you would need for a fabulous holiday, they have thought about everything. Just pack your bags and go. It is a well designed cabin that provides enough areas for guests to enjoy their space without being on top of each other. The kitchen and dining area allows room for cooking, eating and socialising, A great location, close to nature, as well as the shops and cafes. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cabin and hope to return."

This heated single room cabin is nestled in the quiet woods at the back of our 2 acre property behind our house. You will have your own private bathroom a 5 meters walk away with an indoor shower and flush toilet. Private outdoor cedar shower is a must -try as well! Cabin is heated with an electric fireplace and includes an electric heating blanket. There is no water in the cabin but the washroom steps away has a large sink as well there is a dish station outside with plenty of cleaning supplies. Upon your arrival the gallon carafe of fresh drinking water will be filled as well as the kettle and Nespresso Vertuo machine. The kitchen is stocked with a frig, microwave, toaster and air fryer. You can also grill over the gas BBQ or the firepit (wood provided!). We are across from the Wintergreen Golf Course and 5 minutes away from the hamlet of Bragg Creek which is full of great restaurants and cute shops. Bragg Creek is between Banff ( 1 hr and 15 minute drive) and Calgary (45 minutes drive), Bragg Creek itself is a destination for mountain bikers and hikers with hundreds of trails at Moose Mountain. 5 minute walk from the cabin is a large pond perfect for wildlife and bird viewing.

The Cabins:
At Folk Tree Lodge we have 2 cabins, the Deer house and the Beaver house. Full of character, both cabins have been recently renovated by a local folk artisan to include hand-crafted log beds, stone floor mosaics, decoupage ceilings and many more unique details waiting to be discovered. The cabins have fully equipped kitchens, comfortable living areas and modern bathrooms.

The Deer House is a 2000 sq. ft. log cabin built in 1954. Original oak floors, cozy stone fireplace, and spacious sunroom, all contribute to the rustic charm of this log cabin. Out the back, there is a private and forested patio with a BBQ, fire pit, picnic table, and some lovely swings hanging from the trees. The Deer House can accommodate 8-10 people.

The Beaver House is a 2000 sq. ft. barn style log cabin built in 1982. This cabin is divided into two units, the Upper and Lower Beaver. Giant windows overlooking the pasture, high ceilings, and warm colors, give it a well-lit and airy feel. The multi-level patio is large and has plenty of space for outdoor dining. There is a BBQ, fire pit and a really great tree house for kids. The Beaver house can accomodate up to 12 guests.

The Land:
Folk Tree Lodge is nested in a beautiful and intimate natural setting with a private 30+ acres of nature for you to explore and enjoy. It is surrounded by a pristine forest, with an abundance of natural beauty, wildlife and rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. You will discover vast open fields, a winding creek spanning the property, and a small pond. Venture just down the highway and you are in the magnificent Kananaskis country, a recreation area teeming with opportunities for nature exploration and outdoor fun. Please note the following:

- When weather is inclement the driveway can be muddy, slushy or icy. If you do not have good winter tires and 4 wheel drive, please park at the top of the driveway before the gate to prevent getting stuck on the property.

- NO outdoor fires are permitted at this time, due to forest fire risk in Alberta..

- Wildlife is present on the property and in the area, including fox, moose, and the occasional bear or cougar. Please exercise awareness of your surroundings and Do Not leave food or garbage outdoors for extended periods of time as this will attract predators and scavengers alike. It is safe to roam the property, but please feel free to carry the house supplied bear spay just in case.

- Please make sure all pets are accounted for at all times and that they do not disturb or chase any wildlife that enters the property.

-- You are welcome to park horse trailers at the parking pad at the end of the driveway. Campers can be brought in for an additional fee and power is available. Please inquire before bringing larger trailers to the property as there is a steep portion of the driveway that may be an issue for certain trailers.
