Guest Reviews:

- "Nice stay out in the woods. Clean tent and comfortable setup. Was a good time with my kids." - "Unique and fun, the only problem is other guest get quite rowdy!" - "It was alright. Nothing special unfortunately. The area around camp was not well groomed - floor of the tent wss very uneven as well as surrounding areas. Restrooms/shower was fine. Sheets had hairs in them and floor of tent looked like it had not been cleaned very well. Underwhelmed by thos experience for the price which I felt was really high for what you get. I would say you'd do better to just camp yourself, or just find a hotel. "

- "Wanted to say thank you to Keshia for such an incredible experience! The location was easy to find, extremely clean (despite being outside) and very comfortable. Host was very communicative and willing to answer any questions. We also had everything we needed to maximize our experience (fire wood, matches, cooking tools, extra blankets, etc). One of our favorite parts of the stay was enjoying sunrise and sunset in the hammock park! Our only regret was forgetting to sign the guestbook!"

The Slabs Campsite 2
RV Rental
Monticello, Utah, USA

Please be advised, that during heavy rain And snow four-wheel-drive may be necessary at best roads are bumpy at all times and not recommended for low clearance cars. also the units are not heated. Please plan to show up before dark for the best experience and ease of finding the location.

Experience the Southwest in a secluded & peaceful part of SE Utah. South of Moab, Canyon Lands & Arches National Park. North of Monument Valley. Watch amazing stars and sunsets above the crowds and heat of Moab below.

This area is dedicated to primitive camping, fire pits and firewood are available onsite. Showers and bathrooms are available in the main site area which is a five minute walk. Soon after you pass Indian Canyon the road gets bumpy for about 30 yards. Generally if you stay all the way to the west, towards the mountains it’s easiest. Or pick an easy route down the center of the road. High clearance recommended but skilled drivers can negotiate the route without much effort.

The space
As you enter the gate to the property gate, camping is available on either side of the driveway, choose your spot. To get to the main site you can continue on the driveway for about five minutes walking and will come to the showers, outhouse, Wi-Fi, etc. This specific campsite though is for primitive camping only and has no services other than firewood, fire pits and a picnic table. If you were to continue on Brushey Terrace, you will end up on the national forest land. The road gets quite a bit worse after the gate to the property and is accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles only.

Guest access
The host house is nearby further down the driveway on the way to the main site if you need assistance please text or call.

Other things to note
You will likely be greeted by two friendly dogs, the black one is Bear, the brindle is River. River is still a puppy and tends to jump up on you though he is learning. Feel free to be firm if he jumps.

Indian Canyon Ranch is a Nest In Harmony promoted location, we value natural living and alternative living styles and featuring different living structures for off-grid lifestyles. With our guidance for the best experience for guests, owner of Indian Canyon Ranch, Joe, lived and worked in Yosemite & Grand Canyon National Park as project manager and not wanting the used materials to be wasted in the landfill, Joe captured the opportunity to create an off-grid retreat when he bought the first 10 acres of Indian Canyon Ranch which is now 20 acres total He took years to collect and build this off-grid retreat, piece by piece, up-cycling construction debris. Now Joe lives off-grid full-time and is sharing in the experience. Joe will be able to answer some of your questions or give you advice on the area and other natural wonders in the region including local Indian ruins, or a great place to swim, or go off-roading :)

Guest Reviews:

- "Everyone was very nice!" - "Located about 10 miles south of Monticello on beautiful treed property with several campsites, fire pits and even hand made benches and tables. Our spot was private and quiet, plenty of room for our camping gear. Tons of available firewood. Our host went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed! Skip Moab and go here!" - "This low-key setting, dark-sky setting was easy to access but felt remote. The stars were magnificent. We used Joe’s lower camping area, so come self-contained. There is a fire ring, plenty of wood around the property, a picnic table and porta potty. Great for when you want a reserved spot to semi-boondock. Joe was a great host and easy to communicate with—we enjoyed our stay for the annular solar eclipse."

Guest Reviews:

- "Stayed at this lovely property in the Cedar Pod and had the best experience! We stayed here while competing in the Bears Ears Ultra. We took advantage of the sauna (incredible) and the communal kitchen, making burritos one night. We also spent an evening in downtown Moab. This is the perfect place for those who don't want to be in tourist-centric Moab and prefer a more relaxing, natural atmosphere. The hosts were fabulous, providing us with tubs for hanging out at Foy Lake and bringing coffee in the morning. They have two sweet pooches and friendly chickens roaming around! Such a special place where memories were made—we will be coming back again and again! Cheers!!"

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise.

Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). Larger groups can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided (you’re welcome to bring your own camping gear too). You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Bedding and pillows
-Lanterns and lighting
-Firewood for the campfire
-Water

Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry!

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Other Things to Note:
Bring your own food. The nearest Grocery store and restaurants are 25 miles away.

Bring your own bedding.

NO SMOKING IN THE TENTS.

Most renters opt for first come-first serve sites.
Recommended areas: Sand Flats Recreation Area, Kane Creek Road, Hwy 128, Hwy 279, and Ken's Lake Rec Area. All of those areas have multiple campgrounds.

"I want to tow it myself. Can I? "

For a variety of reasons, most of them legal, I do not allow customer towing at this time.

"How much water does the trailer come with?"

The trailer comes filled with 21 gallons which should last up to an 5 night rental with conservative water use. Remember, this isn't your home tap so be very thoughtful with your water use. includes drop off and pick up.
Multiple camping sites can be arranged in the event you would like to explore, please message me to discuss the details so that I can ensure transfer availability the day you will need it.

I recommend arriving early to secure your site if you are interested in a first come first serve site.

** If you would like to camp in the National Parks, be mindful that they do require a pass for entry. These sites also do not have RV hookups available. Dead Horse Point however does have electrical hookup options.
** Please make sure to read important details about your campsite online.

"DiscoverMoab .com/campgrounds" is an excellent online resource with a vast amount of information and trip ideas in Moab.

Here are some general recommendations (with a description of where to find them on the site I recommended above):

Do you want hook-ups?
*(Select Commercial Sites/ Make sure to confirm the type of site you would like, SOME ONLY HAVE ELECTRICITY, but this can be a cheaper option if you are really only worried about air conditioning, or if you have a lot of devices you will need to charge.
*Most have a swimming pool, laundry unit, trails, and more)
-Sun Outdoors (2 locations available) - Portal RV - KOA - Etc.

Do you want traditional camping while still close to town?
*(Select BLM Campgrounds)
-Goose Island Campground - Grandstaff Campground -

Do you prefer more privacy/isolation/ foliage and don't mind a longer scenic drive to get there?
*(Select National Park, State Park, Forest Campgrounds)
-Oowah Campground - Medicine Lake -

**Please make sure you confirm if your site needs a reservation, fees paid, any special requirements (some don't allow pets)** Camping in the mountains will be cooler than in town, in the summer that can be very relieving. Make sure you consider what the weather will be like during your trip.

Cold/ Unappealing Weather Concerns: This unit is well insulated and fully stocked with extra warm bedding and a furnace. Please let me know if you plan to bring your own portable heater. Heaters must be monitored at all times and completely turned off / cooled down before leaving the camper. Please be cautious not to leave any flammable items touching/ near the heaters.
Moab can have sudden rain and wind that usually settles down within a few hours. Make sure to keep rugs and other loose items secured. Check the weather before leaving the unit with the windows open. (Especially the one in the ceiling). *** The Air Conditioner will not work without the use of an electric outlet or a generator. There is a fan in the ceiling that can be used (without additional power) to circulate the air, as well as an additional battery operated fan in the extra storage.*** You cannot leave pets in the camper without adequate cooling, nor can they be left unsupervised without the use of a kennel (I have one Medium/Large kennel available if needed.)

First come first serve sites are a great option! Try and arrive early to secure your site as they fill very fast. Glance at the dates that other campers have on their site posts, they may be leaving that day! ***If they are, ask them if you can place your ticket on the post and leave something there to mark the space after they leave (like a chair). DO NOT remove another campers ticket without their permission.

*Other things to consider: This camper is a smaller unit, unless your site offers hookups, extended stays can deplete water supply, battery, fuel, and also fill up grey/black water tanks (where used/dirty water is held). We can arrange accommodations for this if the need arises, additional charges may apply.

Tips to prolong reserves:
Consider utilizing the additional outdoor portable toilet.
Only flush for as long as necessary.
Avoid taking extended showers.
Consider turning shower off while scrubbing.
Consider utilizing the outdoor shower.
Check to ensure lights are off before leaving unit.
Check to ensure lights are off before sleeping.
Utilize natural light when possible.
Monitor stove use closely.
Never forget to turn stove off.
Never forget to turn furnace off.
Consider emptying non-toxic fluids outside rather than in drains.
Fill up sink or dish tub for dish washing rather than letting the water run.
