- "What an experience! The amenitites of STRY are wonderful. The living space was well-appointed and everything was premium. There was a separate living space and bedroom. It was definately a boutique experience. My only reason for a 4/5 for comfort was that our room had a mini-split that didn't seem to warm the room to the registered temperature. In all fairness, that could have something to do with single-digit temperatures outside. There is plenty do around the property, from walking on the riverfront, to quaint shoppes, too a few coffee shops within steps of the hotel. We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the adjoining bar/restaurant. Friendly service and excellent food. I'm not sure when our travels will take us back to the area, but we will certainly be staying here again. "

Recently renovated to provide an upscale and memorable experience with the outdoor deck getting its makeover in May 2025. Our cottage is exquisitely designed for couples, girlfriend weekends or families. This property is the only cottage within the Conservation Area, with no adjacent lodgings as well as direct access to a wide sandy (shared) park beach. The modern design is optimal for two adults and up to four children, or 5-6 adults, and has a beautiful outdoor living space (May 2025) with gas barbecue, covered (May 2025) eating area, conversation area and nearby fire pit. The interior includes modern conveniences such as a smart television and a full-size gas range and fridge. Luxurious bedding is provided for adults and fun kid-friendly bedding is available for our younger guests. Girlfriend groups will appreciate the Tommy Bahama all-cotton bedding and spa towels. We only use cotton bedding for adult bedding setups. Beach towels are provided at one per guest.

The cottage now includes pantry items such as spices, oil and vinegars, coffee (and bean grinder), tea, pancake mix and syrup. We do stock the fridge with ketchup and mustard. These items are provided for convenience and are not refreshed until supply is exhausted. Use to your own comfort level, property host accepts no product liability.

Located in the heart of a mature Carolinian forest, this waterfront cottage at Holiday Beach Conservation Area is steps away from Lake Erie's sandy beach, with breathtaking views. Holiday Beach is globally recognized as an important bird area. Other park amenities include walking trails, boardwalks, a fishing pond, a 40 foot viewing tower overlooking the Big Creek wetland and large picnic areas. The park is conveniently located close to splash pads, mini golf, wineries, historic sites and many restaurants.

Refer to the cancellation policy as well as House Rules for more information regarding bookings. As this property is owned by a government agency, it must have strict guidelines regarding damages, unauthorized late departures and violations of the rental agreement. A $300 deposit is payable directly to the property host, that is refundable within 48 hours of departure, pending property inspection/condition and confirmation of adherence to the rental agreement. Please do not book if you cannot abide by the house rules and the terms of the agreement.

You will have access to the entire main floor unit to yourself (basement is not included as it is rented separately on a short term basis). This means that both the main unit and the basement unit can be rented at the same time to separate guests. Each unit is self-contained so the main unit does not have access to the basement unit and the basement unit does not have access to the main unit. Driveway is located at the side of the house. The left side of the driveway is designated for use by the main floor guests. The right side of the driveway is designated for use by the basement guests. Please note: there are stairs to climb and there is a potential for noise transfer between the two units. An entry code will be provided 24 hours prior to arrival. Heating and cooling is separately contolled by each unit.

There are exterior security cameras, one located on the front porch and the second one is located above the back deck.

Two bath towels and 2 hand towels are provided in each bedroom.

We provide 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher pods, hand soap in the bathroom, laundry detergent and garbage bags.

The kitchen is well-stocked, the beds are comfortable with several pillows for you to choose your preference. Greg & Lisa are welcoming and excellent hosts. They will take care of your needs but leave you privacy to enjoy your stay. The large windows at the back of the house look out to a breathtaking view - Lake Erie splashes onto the rocks just steps from the back door. Several muskoka chairs and deck furniture provide comfortable places to relax and bask in the view as well. Across the street from Greg & Lisa's cottage is a large swamp area where you are guaranteed to see many types of birds. Step out in the early morning for great photo opportunities of swans, great blue herons, and several others. If you want to relax at the beach, a 10 minute walk will find you at Holiday Beach where the shallow water and sandy bottom are a great place to swim for the whole family. Welcome to Island View in Amherstburg, a beautifully fully furnished private home with many extra touches to make your stay more comfortable. This newly renovated home features 3 bedrooms (two main floor and one lower), two full bathrooms and an open concept kitchen and living area all fully stocked with everything you will need.
The space
A completely renovated house with two bedrooms on the main floor, as well as a fully stocked kitchen, furnished living room, and a spacious bathroom. The lower level includes another bedroom, family room , bathroom and a laundry room which includes a washer and dryer. All of the bathrooms are stocked with towels, wash cloths, soap, and any other essential toiletry you may need. There is a wine fridge as well as a coffee maker stocked for hot drinks on the front deck to make your stay more enjoyable.

Lakefront Access – Please Read Carefully

Wooden stairs at the back of the property lead down to the lake. These stairs are regularly in contact with water and may feel very slippery. Please use them slowly and carefully. We recommend bringing life jackets if you plan to go into the lake (not provided by the host) and water shoes for safer footing. Guests should exercise their own judgment and caution when enjoying the lake.

Outdoor Firepit

The firepit is available for use. Please bring your own firewood, available at Walmart or Canadian Tire.

BBQ (Charcoal)

A charcoal BBQ is provided. Please clean it after use. A yellow hose is available in the yard. Charcoal can be purchased locally at Walmart or Canadian Tire.

Cleaning Supplies

Vacuum and mop are in the laundry room; additional supplies are under the kitchen sink.

Entrances

If entering through the front door in the evening, please close it promptly to prevent insects from coming inside.

Leave the home neat and tidy, the way you found it.

Please do not move furniture or eat on the beds.

Wash and dry dishes before checkout.

Empty all trash bins before checkout and place garbage/recycling in the designated outdoor bins (inside the shed at the side of the house).

BBQ (Charcoal): Dispose of used charcoal and clean the grill after use. A yellow water hose is available nearby.

Outdoor chairs: Keep backyard chairs stacked when not in use to prevent them from being blown away by the wind.

Our home is completely smoke free and pet free. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and comfort, including our super comfy beds! Living room has a sectional with pull out sofa bed. The kitchen features granite counters and is completely stocked. We have a Cuisinart drip coffee maker (we know how important coffee is!), Henkel knives, lots of dishes, cups and glassware etc. 1.5 baths - all the comforts of home and more!

The entire home is yours. We have a double driveway and space across the street for plenty of parking. The beach is just steps away. Wine tours are available if booked in advance.

Shopping, wine tastings, microbreweries, historic tours, wine tours, mini golf, relax by the water, sun on the beach, sip one of our local award winning wines under the stars while the hot tub jets massage away the stresses of city living - this home has it all. We are smoke free and pet free. You'll want to come back every year!

This cottage is a comfortable size, with a more than adequately stocked kitchen, (I was so impressed!!) ... in a quiet area, with an absolutely amazing view of Lake Erie!! Check-in was easy and quite fast. Joan, our host, was great to work with and answered our questions fast. We were here with my 84 yr old Dad and had family close by that came to visit. Our trip was about being with family so it was pretty low-key and relaxing. Both beds, including the sofa bed, were quite comfortable. There are plenty of chairs to sit around the firepit for visiting, watch the ships go by in the distance, or watch the gorgeous sunsets!!! Overall, we'd definitely consider renting this cottage again."

It's a lovely century home, that's been renovated with modern conveniences & timeless design. Experience stunning open-landscape views, surrounded by nature and located near many local wineries.

This three bedroom, two bath house has lots of natural sunlight, original hardwood floors, tin ceilings, barn board walls, and locally produced artwork & decor.

The 14th Coffee Co. Homestead includes this Farmhouse, and separate buildings - the Coffee House and century-old Barn that has been newly renovated.

The Grounds: Relax on the front porch with picturesque skylines throughout the day or retreat to the expansive back deck, patio and fenced yard. The garden grows seasonal vegetables, flowers, plants, and trees. For your use and enjoyment, there is a hot tub, hammock, a covered pavilion, and lots of space for lawn games (bocci, frisbee, etc.).

The Stone Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. This 2 bed, 2 bath home features a fully equipped kitchen for gourmet cooking and a spacious living room with a gas fireplace to set the perfect ambiance. Each bedroom is equipped with Samsung smart TVs and have adjoining bathrooms with walk-in showers. The Stone Cottage sleeps 4 comfortably but can accommodate up to 6 people as the living room couch folds down into a bed. The home has tasteful decor with every amenity and detail kept in mind. Steps from the front door, you will find Amherstburg's downtown area, which features great restaurants, shops, and our beautiful Navy Yard Park.

Guests will be able to walk about the beautifully landscaped yard in its entirety. The outdoor space features a natural gas BBQ area for grilling experts, seating overlooking the Detroit River as guests enjoy their morning coffee, and a propane fire table to enjoy on those cool, Southern-Ontario nights.

Parking
Guests will be able to park their vehicles on the flagstone driveway steps from the front door. The home is also EV friendly as there is a 240V outlet to recharge your ride.
