Welcome to our beautiful A-frame cabin on quiet Long Lake #2. This cabin is perfectly set-up for family gatherings. The master bedroom is located in the 3rd level loft with it's own bathroom. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one bedroom has 1 queen bed while the other bedroom has two twin over full bunk beds. The walkout basement floor has an additional 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds

Huge lawn for various yard games, lounging and campfires. Easy access to lake, no steps or long walks! Cabin is west facing for beautiful sunset watching opportunities.

Large Deck with grill and 6 person patio table for easy outdoor dinning.. Additional 4 person table located down by the lake.

These two cabins are identical in layout, except one has a screened in porch and the other has a beautiful, open deck. Both have all of the amenities you need to simply relax and enjoy everything that cabin life has to offer. They are perfect for two families looking to getaway together and still have a private space of their own. Our cabins are directly located on Big Portage Lake in Backus, Minnesota. We are only minutes away from the Paul Bunyan State Trail and miles and miles of state land to explore. . Our mission is to give you a carefree vacation with all the trimmings. We work to make sure that we think of everything from kitchen utensils to lawn games. Enjoy our high speed internet, explore the Portage Chain Lakes, or just sit back and sip our provided coffee, enjoying the sights of nature.

We do have a one room bunk house for rent as well. The last few pictures feature the bunkhouse. Please note that the dock, game room and other amenities are not available from late October until May!

The swimming beach was the perfect size for the kids and the dock had a nice bench where we could watch the loons in the evening. The neighboring cabins were quiet and people were friendly. Located on Sanborn Lake in Backus, MN, 2 miles east of Hwy 371 on Hwy 87. 23 miles to Leech Lake/Walker and 40 miles north of Brainerd. 2 miles to the scenic Paul Bunyan State Trail system. Sanborn Lake is a 230 acre lake that has 2.46 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 48 feet. Sanborn Lake offers opportunities for anglers seeking a variety of species. The lake has historically been known for its bass and panfish along with good numbers of Northern Pike. The clarity of the lake is anywhere from 15 to 25 feet during the entire season.
