- "I met the owner as I had some questions on a few things, he came right out and was very kind as he shared his cell in case we had any questions or issues. I love the Nevis, Park Rapids, Walker area but haven’t spent a lot time up there. I am changing that as everyone is kind and fun that you encounter. We brought our own bought with his permission and fished on Deer Lake. The place is nice, comfortable to sleep, firepit, swimming is good even off of dock but great in middle of lake, good fishing too! We practice CPR: catch, maybe a picture and release. I would rent again from them. If you have kids, and evenings are an issue and need to watch tv, etc. there is internet. Beautiful bathhouse with all the comforts of home! Thank you, Teresa"

Enjoy this newly remodeled lakeside cabin just steps from beautiful Lake Belle Taine, one of the top recreational lakes in the area. Nestled in the pines on a point with perfect sand beach and gentle elevation. Kids can fish off the dock, sunfish are plentiful. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from the dock, deck, or sitting around the campfire. Truly a one of a kind setting. Very private. Canoe and paddle boat included, pontoon available for rent. Dock available, bring your boat. Three miles from downtown Nevis, Heartland Trail, one mile away. Great restaurants in the area.
- "This was our third year back in a row, which maybe tells all you need to know. It has become a bit of a family tradition to stay at this cabin. It has everything you could want - a little swim area for kids, good fishing (at least for kids looking for panfish), updated interior (while maintaining a cabin feel), convenient pontoon rental, and it even faces the sunset. The new paddleboard and kayak were fun to play on as well. It's on the agenda for next year if we can make it work!"

- "This was a beautiful property! Far enough away from everything to be surrounded by nature but a close enough drive to attractions and necessities. There were kayaks that we used a lot and a fire pit to cook hot dogs or s'mores. There was a stocked kitchen and a large fridge that we were able to fill with food for the week. There were 4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults, and there was plenty of space for us. It was great to be able to have our dog with us, too! Brian and Cindy were wonderful hosts, they responded to our questions immediately. We didn't have many, though, because they provided an informational folder for us upon arrival!"

- "Management was super helpful. Beautiful lake and resort grounds. Had a great time. All our needs were provided for. Highly recommend." - "Our experience of this resort and it's management--welcoming, clean, responsive and full of Northwoods character. West Crooked Lake Resort is small but packed with options and excellently located to pursue any type of activity or none at all. We're newly retired and for the first time vacationed when most others are not--arriving the Sunday directly before Labor Day. Most tourist-related businesses were still open but not crowded. Property owner Susan and property manager Rick are both experts at what they do and immediately responsive to any question. Cabin 1 is prepped to anticipate every need. We loved the privacy of our own fire ring and view of the lake. Best for me was "forest bathing" amidst the giant Norway pines. Love, love, love this place."

Your Vrbo hosts are native to the Park Rapids Area and would love to answer ANY and ALL questions you have. Please feel free to ask!
We ask that you respect our neighbors and park/stay on our property only. Noise levels need to be low, especially at night and no outside music past dark. Sound travels across the water and is much louder than you would think. If a noise violation occurs and/or law enforcement is called you will be requested to leave with no refund.
No pets. No smoking. Fires must stay in the rings. Broken glass found in the yard, lake, or shoreline will result in loss of damage deposit. Consider using plastic or aluminum. We want everyone to enjoy this property, respect our environment and their special time at the lake. Please leave the property in the condition it was found in.
Water conservation must be practiced. This includes practices like: limited showers (10 mins.), don't leave water running when doing dishes, brushing teeth, etc. This is good for the environment and needed at this property to keep the small rural septic system operating as it should. The septic system is a lift system. Flushing anything other than toilet paper will cause damage. If damage occurs due to flushing wipes, feminine products, or anything else you will need to pay for the repair.
- "Our family of 3 just finished our long weekend stay at Sandy Pines. The check-in process was easy, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. Very rustic, yet beautiful - right down to the pictures on the walls. Everything you needed was right there at the cabin. My son loved the beach area, and we all loved the kayaks and paddle boards. Our son caught too many bluegills off the dock to keep track of. Fishing elsewhere on the lake was slow, but that’s why they call it fishing and not catching, I suppose . The neighbors said that the lake is super low this year, making the weeds grow a little quicker than typical. This cabin has a 10/10 cozy factor, looking like you stepped right into a magazine on interior design. The seating areas outside were all well thought out. My favorite space was the screen porch. Perfect spot to finish my book, and play an intense game of Monopoly in the evening, and listen to the loons all day long. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!"

This was perfect...very clean, well appointed and super comfortable." - "The location can’t be beat for a snowmobile weekend! " - "The property is located just outside of town and just a few minutes from a sandy swimming beach. It is very quiet and the kids especially loved sleeping in the loft. The kitchen was also nice for cooking but the lack of a table/places to eat was very challenging, especially with kids. We would have eaten outside but the only table was in the sand box/play area. There isn't a lot of room to put a table inside but even a fold-up table and chairs would have been better. The couch and coffee table would work for a two people but any more than that, you'd want to bring your own seating if you are planning meals onsite. Very fun place to stay overall and we would definitely consider it again depending on the group!"

- "5" - "We loved our weeklong vacation at West Crooked Lake. The camper was placed in a choice location for an amazing view of the lake and the wonderful breeze from the lake. We rented a pontoon for the day and it was so much fun and for a reasonable price. The camper was clean, had everything one needs. Plus the access to the beach is just steps away and plenty of water toys for the kiddos. The price was very reasonable for a weeklong vacation. Best of all, we were able to bring our dog Mabel! Susan was available for any questions or concerns. Easy check-in/check-out process. Would love to get one of the cabins next summer. Thank you Susan for a wonderful experience. Sincerely, Bob, Angel, Jr., and Mabel"

- "Came here with my husband to just get away. We rented the Tiny Bungalow and tiny it was! But it was wonderful! This tiny place accommodates two just fine and there’s not one thing that was missing. Everything was well-thought and so clean! Great experience!" - "We didn't spend a lot of time in the bungalow (tiny house) as most of our time was spent at a wedding. We stayed 3 nights and found it to be clean and functional for our needs. For some reason, the bed mattress seemed especially comfortable (would like to know the brand). We slept great! It is a little smaller than expected but was perfect for our needs. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. If it weren't for the climb to go to bed and to use the restroom in the middle of the night, we'd stay here again. We're just a little too old (in our 60's) for that."

- "I rated all 5’s, not because it’s 5 star hotel, but because it was a great overall stay. They are 1960’s era cabins. Owners were always available and ready to help in any way they could. Clean cabin, new frig / stove, some of the places have new windows, ours was cabin 7. a/c worked, weather was cool when we were there. Heater was a rolling floor unit, probably should have 2 in the bigger cabins. The water came in the cabin and left the way it should. Not a lot of cups or plates and can opener didnt work (minor). 5min to the Nevis. We rented the pontoon, owners worked with us on the timing. The pontoon could have been wiped down of spider webs, there were a lot (minor). Pontoon was fun and worth it. The owners are constantly improving the cabins. No beach for the water. I would have no problem renting there again."

Just right for me :o) It was cozy and had everything we needed! Having a small kitchen with appliances was great! We made dinner every night. We liked that is was quiet at night, very peaceful to relax on the porch after a day of fishing or exploring the area. I loved hearing the loons on the lake! It was so convenient to have a boat launch and dock space to keep our boat. We were successful in catching many species of fish on the lake! We had a fish dinner our second night.
