Perched on the crest of a hill overlooking 8th Crow Wing Lake, the views are stunning, peaceful, and ideal for bird lovers to observe nature in action. With expansive windows in every room, you can enjoy the outdoors from the light filled comfort of indoors. Or sit on the large deck and take in the hum of motor boats, loon calls, and humming birds zooming by. You will feel refreshed as soon as you walk in the door of this well loved cabin.

The property has much to offer. With woods separating the cabin from neighbors, you will feel secluded and away from it all. A winding pebble path leads you down to the lake, where you'll find a large dock for swimming, fishing or just sitting with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There is a public boat launch on the opposite side of the lake and guests are welcome to tie up to the dock. Back up on top of the hill, take advantage of the large fire pit and yard activities, like bag toss (games provided).

Bring your bikes and explore the Heartland trail. Our favorite tour is from Akley to Walker, it's a beautiful stretch of the trail and Walker has a downtown with lots of shops and parks that are fun to explore. Another great day trip is to start in Nevis, bike to Dorset for a treat at the Dorset House, famous for their ice cream sundays, then end back at the Iron Horse in Nevis for delicious BBQ dinner.

We winterize our cabin, so it is available for booking May-October and closed November-April. The dock access is dependent on weather. It's usually in by the end of May depending on ice out, and taken out by October 1, so would not be accessible for early May or October renters.

The path to the lake is steep and may not be accessible to those with mobility limitations.

- "This was a beautiful property! Far enough away from everything to be surrounded by nature but a close enough drive to attractions and necessities. There were kayaks that we used a lot and a fire pit to cook hot dogs or s'mores. There was a stocked kitchen and a large fridge that we were able to fill with food for the week. There were 4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults, and there was plenty of space for us. It was great to be able to have our dog with us, too! Brian and Cindy were wonderful hosts, they responded to our questions immediately. We didn't have many, though, because they provided an informational folder for us upon arrival!"

Our one room cabin, located on West Crooked Lake Resort, is a clean and well maintained cabin. It has a deck where you can relax under the shade of pine trees and enjoy a wonderful view of West Crooked Lake. It is at the end of the resort and located very near the water.

This cabin is perfect for a couple or a couple with a young child.

The cabin has a charcoal grill, lawn chairs, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen that includes a microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker, and all the accompanying dishes, pots and pans, and utensils.

We provide bed linens and towels. We supply toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and hand soap. This is a non-smoking cabin.

We have pontoon and fishing boats to rent if you don't have your own but want to fish or tour beautiful West Crooked Lake. Please let us know if you are bringing your own boat.

The outdoor firepit is near the main cabin and overlooking the lake for you to enjoy campfires under the stars. Firewood is provided.

Property includes multiple play structures and even a slide and climbing wall coming from the deck on the main cabin that will be sure to delight the kids.

The home is well appointed with anything you may need on your vacation. New appliances with gas range. Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies, dinnerware, and entertaining essentials. Kuerig Duo coffee maker will accommodate ground coffee or kuerig cups. Two outdoor grills and a Blackstone griddle will make cooking for your group a breeze. There is also a crock pot, indoor griddle, food processor/blender, electric tea pot and more.

Sound travels across the water and is much louder than you would think. If a noise violation occurs and/or law enforcement is called you will be requested to leave with no refund.

No pets. No smoking. Fires must stay in the rings. Broken glass found in the yard, lake, or shoreline will result in loss of damage deposit. Consider using plastic or aluminum. We want everyone to enjoy this property, respect our environment and their special time at the lake. Please leave the property in the condition it was found in.

Water conservation must be practiced. This includes practices like: limited showers (10 mins.), don't leave water running when doing dishes, brushing teeth, etc. This is good for the environment and needed at this property to keep the small rural septic system operating as it should. The septic system is a lift system. Flushing anything other than toilet paper will cause damage. If damage occurs due to flushing wipes, feminine products, or anything else you will need to pay for the repair.

- "Our family of 3 just finished our long weekend stay at Sandy Pines. The check-in process was easy, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. Very rustic, yet beautiful - right down to the pictures on the walls. Everything you needed was right there at the cabin. My son loved the beach area, and we all loved the kayaks and paddle boards. Our son caught too many bluegills off the dock to keep track of. Fishing elsewhere on the lake was slow, but that’s why they call it fishing and not catching, I suppose . The neighbors said that the lake is super low this year, making the weeds grow a little quicker than typical. This cabin has a 10/10 cozy factor, looking like you stepped right into a magazine on interior design. The seating areas outside were all well thought out. My favorite space was the screen porch. Perfect spot to finish my book, and play an intense game of Monopoly in the evening, and listen to the loons all day long. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!"

- "It was a beautiful setting amongst the tall pines whether you were sitting on the deck, the dock or in the awesome hot tub. Swimming in the lake was refreshing. We also enjoyed kayaking and using the firepit by the lake. A closer firepit option is also available by the garage. We also enjoyed the 3 season area overlooking the lake. Great open space between the kitchen and seating area for all to enjoy. Great kitchen for cooking. Fun décor inside and appealing flowers/plants outdoors."

Our family-friendly cabin, located on West Crooked Lake Resort, is a very clean, modern, and well maintained cabin. The large main bedroom contains a full bed and twin bunks and the second bedroom a full bed. The living area has a comfortable futon that can sleep 2, so the cabin sleeps up to 8 people. The main bedroom has a sliding glass patio door with access to an extra large deck where you can relax under the shade of pine trees and enjoy a wonderful view of the resort and West Crooked Lake.

The cabin has a large deck, picnic table, charcoal grill, lawn chairs, TV/DVD, A/C, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen that includes a microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker, and all the accompanying dishes, pots and pans, and utensils.

We provide bed linens and towels. We supply toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and hand soap. This is a non-smoking cabin.

You'll love this beautiful lake home on Lake Belle Taine. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom with an additional one bedroom guest cabin that has two twin beds in it right cloes by. Enjoy over 100 feet of lakeshore with a private dock and paddle boat. It is wooded on all sides so you'll enjoy complete privacy yet enjoy an awesome and inspiring view of the lake. It has a full kitchen and living room as you'll see in the pictures. One bedroom has two twin beds and the second bedroom has a queen sized bed. There is also a separate and simple one-room guest house just yards away from the main house with no bathroom, but two twin beds, a couch and separate living room. The main cabin has central air - A/C.

The kitchen is fully stocked with just about whatever you may need, and the deck has a beautiful view of Lake Belle Taine that is about ten steps away. This cabin is available for rentals from May 1st through Sept 30th.

Our lake home is located on Belle Taine Lake. The cabin is small but cozy and able to fit comfortably up to 6 people. We have 3 bedrooms/1 bath and a whole lot of 1497 acres of lake!! There are several smart TVs throughout , 2 grills, Blackstone Grill and Weber gas grill for cookouts, and an amazing view of the lake. Enjoy easy access to the famous 49 mile Heartland Bike/Snowmobile Trail, traveling from Park Rapids to Cass Lake.

The hot tub, fire pit, and grill were great additions. Kitchen was stocked with most essentials. Would come again. - "I rated all 5’s, not because it’s 5 star hotel, but because it was a great overall stay. They are 1960’s era cabins. Owners were always available and ready to help in any way they could. Clean cabin, new frig / stove, some of the places have new windows, ours was cabin 7. a/c worked, weather was cool when we were there. Heater was a rolling floor unit, probably should have 2 in the bigger cabins. The water came in the cabin and left the way it should. Not a lot of cups or plates and can opener didnt work (minor). 5min to the Nevis. We rented the pontoon, owners worked with us on the timing. The pontoon could have been wiped down of spider webs, there were a lot (minor). Pontoon was fun and worth it. The owners are constantly improving the cabins. No beach for the water. I would have no problem renting there again."

We provide an outdoor table/chairs, grill, dishes, glasses, silverware, utensils and pots/pans. There is also a microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster.
This cabin can accommodate up to 4 people.

There is a queen size bed in the bedroom, a full and two twin beds in the loft. The couch makes into a comfortable full size bed. Beds are provided with linens, blankets, bedspread and pillows. We also provide kitchen linens and bath towels.

Our kitchens are full stocked with all the cooking and baking pans and utensils you will need. We provide paper towels, plastic containers, saran, and foil. We also provide salt and pepper. This rental does include access to all amenities offered to West Crooked Lake Resort guests, which is adjacent to Timberlost and also owned by myself. We have two paddle boards, two kayaks, two paddle boats and a canoe available for guests to use for free. We also have a great beach area. I have a manager on site that is available if you need anything.

Round River Drive ATV Trail is located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest and can be reached from state Hwy 64, 4.5 miles north of Akeley. Martineau Trail, an OHM trail with two loops totaling 105 miles. The trail is located in the southern unit of the Paul Bunyan State Forest and can be reached from state Hwy 64, 5.5 miles north of Akeley. Search for the Paul Bunyan State Forest for more information on trails near our resort, many of which you can drive to on your ATV, rather than taking your ATV on a trailer.

The space
Travel back in time with this authentic logging-inspired cabin. Voyageur, named for the beautiful backwoods national park in northern Minnesota, calls to the minimalist in all of us. Closely resembling the original one-bedroom cabins where hunters, trappers, and fisherman found shelter, this two-bedroom, one-bath cabin is centrally located with a nice open area just outside the front door.

The two bedrooms are small and separated from the living area by curtains. The kitchen opens to the living space and provides all the essentials. The bathroom is equipped with a standing shower, but no tub. Where space may be limited in other areas, this cabin does boast a large main living space with a comfortable sofa. Floors are carpeted with the exception of the bathroom and the kitchen space. This cabin does not have electric heat.

Enjoy this thoughtfully furnished lake park model cabin for your summer getaway. Our cabin is very clean with a beautiful view of West Crooked Lake. We provide an outdoor table/chairs, grill, dishes, glasses, silverware, utensils and pots/pans. There is also a microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster.

The space
This camper can accommodate up to 6 people. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom, a full and two twin beds in the loft. The couch makes into a comfortable full size bed.

Our Cabins!

All of our cabins have a deck, picnic table, charcoal grill (charcoal provided), lawn chairs and private fire pit. Cabins include a TV/DVD and come with a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker, and all the accompanying dishes, pots and pans, and utensils.

Beds are provided with linens, blankets, bedspread and pillows. We also provide kitchen linens and bath towels. Our kitchens are full stocked with all the cooking and baking pans and utensils you will need. We provide paper towels, plastic containers, saran, and foil. We also provide salt, pepper, oil, coffee creamer and sugar. This is a non-smoking cabin.

We have a pontoon and fishing boats to rent if you don't have your own but want to fish or tour beautiful West Crooked Lake.

Activities

West Crooked Lake Resort offers relaxation and enjoyment for the entire family. You can enjoy sun bathing on the sandy beach, swimming in the clear water, playing on the Rave Water Park, or reading a book in the shade. Listen to the loons calling, watch eagles soar overhead, glide through the clear waters in a canoe or paddleboat, or just bring a book, relax, and catch some rays on the sandy beach.

Area Attractions 

Many area attractions are just minutes from the resort. Biking/walking trails, golf courses, casinos, challenge course, a local winery, horseback riding, shopping and restaurants are just a few of the attractions you will find. In addition, the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park is just 30 minutes from the resort. ATV riders enjoy hundreds of miles of trails in the Park Rapids Lakes Area, bringing them closer to nature's beauty in remote areas others often don't see. Local clubs maintain two primary trails in our area, which are connected with miles of trails along county highways/byways.  Drive your ATV directly to the trails from our resort.

Coming to fish?

West and Middle Crooked Lakes are part of the famous Mantrap chain of lakes – the very heart of Northern Minnesota’s finest fishing country. Fish to catch in West Crooked Lake include Northern, Walleye, Bass and Panfish. You can fish right off the dock at the resort or venture out to the many inlets on this quiet lake. When on the lake, you will often find yourself enjoying the tranquil beauty of West Crooked Lake with no other boats in sight.

Our 1 of kind, 4 bedroom cabin is nestled in lakes country, adjoining Paul Bunyan State Forest. You can walk or ride the trails on the land to a wildlife clearing. Enjoy your time at the cabin and have your own bonfire and stargaze. We are 15 min. from Bemidji and 30 min. from Itasca State Park. Plenty of room for parking your vehicles, boat or 4 wheelers- which is one of our favorite actitives when we are there, as there are endless trails!

The space
The cabin is located with easy access from the highway. There is a gate to get into the property.
While you are there, you will have the entire cabin to yourself.
There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, and one on the open loft upstairs which you will need to take a spiral staircase to get to.
The rooms downstairs are small, as we mainly just use them for sleeping and spend most of the days in the common areas or outside.
There is a full kitchen, and full bathroom with shower only.
The back door leads to the backyard where there is a bonfire pit and feel free to use firewood if it is stacked there.
The living room has a TV, DVD player, and movies available, as well as an assortment of games.
Fiber optic high speed internet.
On the front patio you will find both a charcoal and gas grill. Propane and charcoal can be used as available.
If you do not feel like cooking, Becida Bar is down the road and they have a reputation for having the best Prime Rib in all the area, served Friday and Saturday nights.

You can feel free to park wherever is most convenient to you in the front yard after entering through the gate.
You are close to highway, which allows easy access, but also know that there will be cars driving by that you can hear.

Other things to note
Summer in Minnesota can be a bit buggy during different times of the day. While in the woods, or back by the lake we have found that bug spray and the thermacell patio repellers work wonders at keeping the bugs at bay.

The water is hard at the cabin, so just be aware that while showers, toilets, sinks are cleaned and sanitized I cannot guarantee that there will not be hard water stains.

Just a reminder that there is only 1 bathroom. The cabin has enough beds to accommodate 8 people, but please be comfortable with all guests sharing the bathroom and realize that there may need to be some time given in-between showers to allow for the hot water heater to heat the water.

The space
Daybreak is a bright, cheerful space overlooking the lake. There is a large, old maple tree that shades the area right in front of the cabin, but the cabin itself fills with sunshine through the big picture window giving calming views of the still waters of Lake Belle Taine. Inspired by the colors of early morning, you'll be soothed and recharged surrounded by the shades of dusty rose, mustard yellow, and warm white throughout the cabin.

This three-bedroom, one-bath cabin has two nice-sized main bedrooms with queen beds and a third bedroom with twin bunks. A bathroom at the front of the cabin and tile floors throughout the main living area makes this cabin ideal for those with youngsters who love spending time in the sand and water. The small but efficient galley kitchen opens to the main living space with a comfortable couch and roll-away table for the ultimate use of space.

The space
Moonbeam is our most centrally located cabin. It has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and boosts our highest ceilings. With stunning navy cabinetry, gold hardware, and statement black lighting, this cabin's name and design were inspired by the nordic word mångata, or the roadlike reflection of the moon on water. In other words, a moonbeam. Striking, dramatic, and romantic. With pale, knotty pine on the walls and ceiling, this cabin captures that quintessential “up north” feeling, with a modern touch.

This two-bedroom, one-bath cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people. The smaller of the two private rooms has a double bed, while the larger has a king-sized bed that can be converted to two twins upon request. Bedrooms and the living space are carpeted, while the bathroom and kitchen have updated laminate flooring to keep the space fresh.

The space
Location is one of the big advantages of staying in Northwoods. This two-bedroom, one-bath cabin is close to the parking area, the common space with sauna and fire pit, and the boat docks. Northwoods is a true Minnesotan-inspired cabin, with rustic pine walls and touches of green to bring nature indoors.

The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while a second bedroom is furnished with two sets of trundle twin beds that keep sleep four. Both rooms have large windows and ceiling fans to circulate the air.

The kitchen is tiled and has a very workable layout with plenty of cupboard space, equipped with all the essentials. Enjoy views of Muskie Bay from the comfy couch in the living room, furnished with a small dine-in table. The bathroom has a combination shower and tub and nice vanity.

The space
Afterglow is our largest and one of our most popular cabins. Inspired by the colors of sunset reflecting on still water, it has striking red cabinetry contrasted by accents of dusty teal. It has beautiful lake views and direct access to the beach and water play area, though the slope to the lake is steepest here. The area directly around the cabin, however, is on level ground, and the main outdoor stairs are just a short distance away.

As our most spacious cabin, this is the perfect choice for an extended family or larger group. Families who book several cabins often request this cabin as a central place for the group to gather.

The bunk room in the far back of the cabin can comfortably sleep 4 people in the twin bunks and one double bed. The front bedroom, nearest the main living space and bathroom, has a king size bed, and the back bedroom has a double bed. The two bedrooms toward the back of the cabin both have nice-sized closets. Ceiling fans circulate the air in 2 of 3 bedrooms. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, fresh painted walls with wainscotting, and a new, modern vanity and lighting. The large, open concept kitchen and living area spans across the entire front of the cabin with nice windows on either side of the front door to take in the lake views.

Floors are tiled in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The remainder of the cabin is carpeted.

Free parking on-site including a dedicated trailer parking area. Guests have private access to their entire cabin rental. Guests have shared access to all outdoor amenities.

This cabin is located at Green Valley Resort on Seventh Crow Wing Lake. It features a large eat-in kitchen and separate living room with a futon. Has 2 window A/C units and ceiling fans. It is set further back from the lake, but it's only a short walk to the water. We have an on-site lodge nearby with books, games, and snacks; dock space for your boat; and boats for rent too. Come enjoy beautiful sunsets, great fishing, and relaxing in nature at our family-friendly fishing resort!

Our cabin is both charming and refreshingly modern. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils you could need. A propane grill is available on the generous deck overlooking the lake. The basement is a walkout with lots of large windows. Fun games including darts, foosball, board games and outdoor bean bags are provided. There is a firepit area outside and kayaks waiting for you down at the dock.

We winterize our cabin, so it is available for booking May-October and closed November-April. The dock at the lake is dependent on weather. It's usually in by the end of May depending on ice out, and taken out by October 1, so would not be accessible for early may or October renters.

Outdoors we have flat areas for yard games with a gentle slope down to the lake and dock (seasonal). You will find a firepit and beach with shallow water close to shore. Perfect for hanging out by the water all day and little ones to play on our small beach.

We are open year round and have all the comforts of home. Television, movies, board games, cards, puzzles to keep everyone entertained.

Third Crow Wing provides access to 1200+ acres of water with connections to First, Second and Fourth Crow Wing Lakes.

Beautiful 6-bedroom, 4-bathroom home located on Lake Belle Taine. We are licensed for 20 people. This home features two well-equipped kitchens and a large, open great room upstairs and downstairs. A huge outdoor patio easily seats 20 people.

Enjoy the large sandy beach with beach toys. We are within walking distance of the Heartland Trail and just a few miles from Dorset and Nevis.

The space
We have a 6-bedroom, 4-bath home.

Bedroom 1: 1 Large King bed, with walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom.

Bedroom 2: One bedroom has queen and twin bunk beds, one has two queens, and three have single queens. We also have two sleeper sofas in the downstairs living space with queen mattresses. We have two kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs. We have a pack-and-play in the downstairs living room closet; extra sheets are available.

Upstairs in the kitchen, we have plenty of seating for 20 people. Our kitchen counter has seating for ten and a large high top for an additional 10. We also have two high chairs available. Outside on our large deck, we have four large dining tables with umbrellas that can easily seat 20-30 people.

Downstairs on the patio, we have an octagon picnic table and high-top seating. We also have a summer porch off the downstairs patio for the evening.

We have a kid's shed full of beach toys and a larger shed with ten life jackets and beach chairs. We also provide two kayaks, two paddleboards, and a paddle boat. The downstairs porch has several yard games.

Our house is very well equipped with everything you need, including beach towels. We would love to host your group. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Due to the extensive cleaning we do for each of our guests during the summer months, we cannot extend early check-in/check-out times. Check-out times are 10 a.m., and check-in times are 5 p.m.

There are two homes on site. Situated close together. Both homes have gorgeous lake views and large decks. The main cabin has 5 bedrooms. The smaller cabin has 2 bedrooms. The small cabin had a game room in the lower level with fuse ball, sit down miss pac man, video game console, and more. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need for your stay.
There is so much to do for large groups inside and outside.
If you enjoy AVT or snowmobiling, we are close to many trails. You can get on the trail system right from the property!

The sand beach area has plenty of sand toys for the kids. Bring your boat! The boat launch is right down the road and you can tie your boat to one of our two docks. We also have a paddle boat, and 4 kayaks at the beach for your use.
The gravel road around Island Lake is 3.6 miles. Perfect for a peaceful morning or evening walk.
