More about the cabin:
The cabin was originally built in 1902 just down the road. We tore it down and moved it to our property and completely restored it. There is a loft with a queen bed, a living room with a full futon, full bath and full kitchen. It can sleep up to four people, but note that it includes 1 queen bed and 1 pull out futon in the living room.

- "The craftsmanship of this rustic cabin is amazing. Location is perfect to explore the park and unwind in the solitude of pines." - "A friend and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was so quiet and located perfectly close to both state parks we wanted to visit. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well equipped. I’d love to return and highly recommend." - "My husband and I really liked the property and location, especially for the easy access to Itasca State Park. The property owners are nearby and helpful with prompt communication and information about the area. The stairs to the bed loft are a little tricky in the dark and you have to remember to duck your head in the bed loft. We left the bathroom light on at night for visiblity."

This modern inspired cabin overlooks the large Southern section of Leech Lake. Perfect for a romantic getaway or use it as a starting point for fantastic summer and winter fishing. Literally feet from the water and walking distance from the public beach and boat landing. The lake offers swimming, waterskiing, kayaking, jet skiing, and paddle boarding. Excellent ATV trails and snowmobile trails within 1/2 mile. Smaller lakes near for canoeing or pan fishing. Shopping and restaurants in Walker and Longville. Hiking, biking, pickle ball and tennis courts and a Community Center with fitness room and exercise classes in Walker. Craft brewery and winery outings, vintage and antique shopping are great rainy day options. The winter landscape is beautiful and offers cross country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling activities. Sitting on either the upper or lower deck offers gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Where listening to the Loons call or watching the Northern Lights makes your stay relaxing and special. WiFi is available if you choose to stay connected. Boat lift is available upon request for an additional fee.

Great location, updated interior, comfortable and very clean. Was perfect for a quick trip up north." - "Great location isolated and yet close enough to places to rent a boat, grab a burger and get lunch. The house itself is super cute with fun decor and a beautiful new kitchen. Everything was spotless and we didn’t find that we had to run to get anything extra. Bedding and towels provided, lots and lots of kitchenware, coffee for the coffee pot, even a beverage fridge to chill your beer! The view is fantastic and there is a nice beach a short walk away. Highly recommend!"

Note: We have a flat rate per night for up to 8 guests and a $150 cleaning fee to cover the cost of preparing the cabin for the next guests.
Come get away from it all at the little slice of heaven that we have affectionately named Minnow Heights. The cabin was built in 2003 and has 2 bedrooms plus an open loft. The loft is accessed by a permanent ladder-style stair, which may not be accessible for everybody. Each room has a queen bed and there are two queen beds in the loft. The main living area has a twin sleeper sofa. There is a bathroom with a shower on the main level and a bathroom with a tub in the loft. The laundry room is located off of the kitchen. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, bakeware, small appliances, and dishes and is open to the dining and living area. There is a whole-house water filtration and softener system and high-speed WiFi.
Howard Lake is a beautiful, quiet lake in the Chippewa National Forest with 19 ft water clarity, a maximum depth of 60 feet, 398 surface acres, and just under 7 miles of forested shoreline. The lake is long and narrow, which we love for kayaking . There is a private boat launch on the property that guests may use along with 2 adult kayaks, 2 youth kayaks, and a paddle boat. If you plan to bring a boat, please let us know when you make the reservation. In an effort to be respectful of neighbors and wildlife, we do not allow wake boats or jet skis. In an effort to preserve the integrity of the lake and avoid the spread of invasive species, we expect guests to follow DNR guidance: boats must be clean and dry for at least 5 days before being launched on the property. There are free decontamination stations with high pressure hot water that can be used to ensure boats are clean. The property is level to the lake and has 100 feet of lakeshore and beautiful southwest-facing views of undeveloped shoreline. We love to end the day sitting out by a cozy fire, watching the sunset and listening to the loon calls.
The cabin is located 10 minutes from Walker and 30 minutes from Park Rapids. Both have shopping, dining, golfing, etc. There is close access to the Paul Bunyan and Heartland trails. Walker is a gentle 7 mile bike ride from the trailhead. We think there is no better way to start the day than a morning hike along the Paul Bunyan trail. There is a basement accessed from the outside that guests may use to store toys and/or gear.
For a better sense of the area around the cabin, please watch the drone video footage. The cabin is 35 feet off of a dead-end gravel road and has neighbors on either side. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! We want to make sure the property is the right fit for your vacation.
We love it here, and we think you will too.
- "Nice cabin. Well stocked with kitchen items, linens. Boat access on site made it eaay. Nice beach area maintained and portion cleared of weeds around the docks so great for swimming. Nice lake. Not too crowded so made for good skiing, tubing." - "We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was very comfortable for my grown sons and I. Very clean with considerate touches throughout! It was great to be close to the water with a nice area to swim or float. Lovely place."

- "Could have just sat at the table and looked out the picture window for the entire stay. Cozy place that didn’t disappoint. Would definitely go back." - "My family of 6 enjoyed our vacation at this beautiful cozy cabin on Shingobee Bay. The cabin sits on a hill overlooking the bay & the large picture widow displays the beautiful landscape. In the mornings, our son fished off the dock & the rest of us took turns using the paddle board & kayak provided by the host. The kitchen is fully stocked & the beds are comfortable. Many movies are provided for family movie nights. The host answered my questions in a timely manor & seems very kind. I hope to be able to vacation there again in the future."

The space
Travel back in time with this authentic logging-inspired cabin. Voyageur, named for the beautiful backwoods national park in northern Minnesota, calls to the minimalist in all of us. Closely resembling the original one-bedroom cabins where hunters, trappers, and fisherman found shelter, this two-bedroom, one-bath cabin is centrally located with a nice open area just outside the front door.
The two bedrooms are small and separated from the living area by curtains. The kitchen opens to the living space and provides all the essentials. The bathroom is equipped with a standing shower, but no tub. Where space may be limited in other areas, this cabin does boast a large main living space with a comfortable sofa. Floors are carpeted with the exception of the bathroom and the kitchen space. This cabin does not have electric heat.

The space
Located in the heart of resort/cabin community known as Whipholt Beach Rd. Historically, Whipholt was a fishing village on the south shore of Leech Lake back in the model T days when HWY 200 ran closer to the lake. Old HWY 200 is now called Whipholt Beach Rd. A central location to enjoy the up north communities of Longville, Walker, and Hackensack. Whipholt is a unique community of buildings that remind us of yester year when each building used to host a vital contributing service to area locals and guests. Whipholt Beach Rd offers a sprawling sandy public beach and boat launch a 5 min walk from Bears Den cabin. Bringing your boat? There are a couple of resorts nearby that offer harbor slips for rent to dock your boat. Have a larger group? We have several properties for rent on the street. Juniper was built in 2017 replacing a cabin at Pine Cone Lodge. It is the original shape of the old cabin but is completely new from top to bottom. This two bedroom home accommodates 5 people. It was design with lots of windows to provide a feeling of sitting on a porch. The upper windows on the west provide privacy from the rest of the resort. This property is not available in the summer. We hope you try out this property at Pine Cone Lodge during the fall, winter or spring.

You can enjoy sun bathing on the sandy beach, swimming in the clear water, playing on the Rave Water Park, or reading a book in the shade. Listen to the loons calling, watch eagles soar overhead, glide through the clear waters in a canoe or paddleboat, or just bring a book, relax, and catch some rays on the sandy beach.
Area Attractions
Many area attractions are just minutes from the resort. Biking/walking trails, golf courses, casinos, challenge course, a local winery, horseback riding, shopping and restaurants are just a few of the attractions you will find. In addition, the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park is just 30 minutes from the resort. ATV riders enjoy hundreds of miles of trails in the Park Rapids Lakes Area, bringing them closer to nature's beauty in remote areas others often don't see. Local clubs maintain two primary trails in our area, which are connected with miles of trails along county highways/byways. Drive your ATV directly to the trails from our resort.
Coming to fish?
West and Middle Crooked Lakes are part of the famous Mantrap chain of lakes – the very heart of Northern Minnesota’s finest fishing country. Fish to catch in West Crooked Lake include Northern, Walleye, Bass and Panfish. You can fish right off the dock at the resort or venture out to the many inlets on this quiet lake. When on the lake, you will often find yourself enjoying the tranquil beauty of West Crooked Lake with no other boats in sight.

This rental does include access to all amenities offered to West Crooked Lake Resort guests, which is adjacent to Timberlost and also owned by myself. We have two paddle boards, two kayaks, two paddle boats and a canoe available for guests to use for free. We also have a great beach area.

Our 1 of kind, 4 bedroom cabin is nestled in lakes country, adjoining Paul Bunyan State Forest. You can walk or ride the trails on the land to a wildlife clearing. Enjoy your time at the cabin and have your own bonfire and stargaze. We are 15 min. from Bemidji and 30 min. from Itasca State Park. Plenty of room for parking your vehicles, boat or 4 wheelers- which is one of our favorite actitives when we are there, as there are endless trails!
The space
The cabin is located with easy access from the highway. There is a gate to get into the property.
While you are there, you will have the entire cabin to yourself.
There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, and one on the open loft upstairs which you will need to take a spiral staircase to get to.
The rooms downstairs are small, as we mainly just use them for sleeping and spend most of the days in the common areas or outside.
There is a full kitchen, and full bathroom with shower only.
The back door leads to the backyard where there is a bonfire pit and feel free to use firewood if it is stacked there.
The living room has a TV, DVD player, and movies available, as well as an assortment of games.
Fiber optic high speed internet.
On the front patio you will find both a charcoal and gas grill. Propane and charcoal can be used as available.
If you do not feel like cooking, Becida Bar is down the road and they have a reputation for having the best Prime Rib in all the area, served Friday and Saturday nights.
Guest access
You can feel free to park wherever is most convenient to you in the front yard after entering through the gate.
You are close to highway, which allows easy access, but also know that there will be cars driving by that you can hear.
Other things to note
Summer in Minnesota can be a bit buggy during different times of the day. While in the woods, or back by the lake we have found that bug spray and the thermacell patio repellers work wonders at keeping the bugs at bay.
The water is hard at the cabin, so just be aware that while showers, toilets, sinks are cleaned and sanitized I cannot guarantee that there will not be hard water stains.
Just a reminder that there is only 1 bathroom. The cabin has enough beds to accommodate 8 people, but please be comfortable with all guests sharing the bathroom and realize that there may need to be some time given in-between showers to allow for the hot water heater to heat the water.
We, our family and friends love spending time here and hope you will too!

This cabin is located at Green Valley Resort on Seventh Crow Wing Lake. It features an open kitchen and living area with a sofa, tub/shower combo, window A/C, and ceiling fans. We have an on-site lodge with books, games, and snacks; dock space for your boat; and boats for rent too. Come enjoy beautiful sunsets, great fishing, and relaxing in nature at our family-friendly fishing resort!
The space
Pots & pans are included in each cabin, as well as all bedding. And each cabin has their own deck. Has rustic knotty pine walls. Classic Minnesota cabin.
Guest access
Plenty of space to park vehicles, as well as boat trailers. Lots of safe places for children to play.
Other things to note
Guests will need to bring their own personal towels/cloths and kitchen towels/cloths, as well as soaps.
Enjoy this cozy Up North lakeshore cabin with dock on 11th Crow Wing Lake. Located in Akeley, Birthplace of Paul Bunyan, the cabin is nestled between the towns of Walker (9 mi), Nevis (6 mi) Dorset (11mi) and Park Rapids (17 mi).
The space
Enjoy easy access to the Heartland trail system only ½ mile down the road, and thousands of acres of Public Forest land. Hunt, Fish, Boat, Swim, Kayak, Canoe, Bike, Hike, ATV or enjoy shopping at the many quaint stores (including dining at the many restaurants) in the nearby towns. Our guests can also just relax next to a campfire down by the lakeshore or fire up the gas or charcoal grill for a BBQ (bring your own charcoal). A selection of books, games and DVD family movies are available, and there is Roku and wifi.
This 2 story cabin w/walk out basement has 3 beds and a sofa sleeper that sleeps 6 adults and (up to 8 total if children are staying and prior approval is required) features 2 bedrooms/1.5 baths and is approximately 1200sq ft. The upstairs main level has a bedroom with a double bed and small half bath. A sleeper sofa is in the upper level main living room. There is WiFi and a TV with ROKU in the main living area along with a small selection of board games. The Dining room table can be also used as a work space and has a view of the lake. An unique custom-built narrow spiral staircase leads to the lower level where there is a queen bed in the open Den area and a privacy screen door is available to set up for added privacy. The second bedroom in the lower level has a double bed and there is a full bath at the end of the hall. A washer and dryer are also on this level.
The cabin is privately located on a hill across a small county road which separates the lake from the cabin and several acres of woods surround the cabin where deer and other wildlife roam about. Launch your boat at the access near the public beach that is located just down the street and park it at our dock. There is parking for pontoons and large boats at the bottom of the hill and by the lakeshore. There is also parking on top of the hill behind the cabin for a smaller boat, trailer or ATV. However, it can be a bit challenging for parking large boats. Personally, we have been able to maneuver a 21’ walleye boat behind the cabin without much of an issue. The driveway is covered with recycled asphalt and has about a 10-12% grade (note that driving ATV's/UTV's up/down the driveway is prohibited as we just put down a new layer of recycled asphalt). A paddle boat, canoe and kayak are available for guests to use and a few adult and kids life jackets are available. We also have five adult bikes available (bring your own helmets). Please note that we do have a Dock Service company that typically removes our dock in October and puts it back in sometime in May and cannot guarantee that the dock will be in the water around these times. However, there is a sandy shoreline and a boat can be either pulled up onto the shoreline or anchored near the shore.
We are proud owners that built this cabin while we were growing up and loved the area so much that we built a second cabin, that is located about 100 yards behind this property which we frequently visit and will share the driveway access while we are present. Since we are often "Up North" at our other cabin, we would love to hear from you- especially on how we can make your stay more enjoyable. Depending on the season and availability, we may have additional amenities available for you to check-out. If there's something you need, please just ask!
Other things to note
Please be aware of the property lines, including the lakeshore property which is clearly marked with a Hello and Welcome sign. If you have any doubts about the property lines, please send us a message and we’d be happy to direct you. Please return amenities ie. Kayak, canoes, bikes back to their storage after each use. Please do not leave these amenities on the Lakeshore overnight.
