There is no public access on this lake - it is a 35 acre, quiet, no wake lake. We have a paddle boat, 2 kayaks, 1 canoe and a paddleboard.

If you are looking for the 'cabin experience', this quintessential cabin in the pines won't disappoint. The property was originally purchased and built by my grandparents in 1958 and has been in our family ever since; it was completely renovated by my wife and I in 2011. A small but efficient layout, the cabin has a wonderful screen porch, sitting area with gas fireplace, and dining room; all with panoramic views of the lake, which is only steps away. It has one bedroom on the main level (king), and a semi-private loft with two queen size beds. There is one 3/4 bath, and a great outdoor shower with views of the lake for those true Minnesotan's. The inside space flows seamlessly to a large lakeside patio with grill, outdoor dining area, fire pit and coffee sitting area. The rental comes complete with a pontoon boat (2023 Bennington), a 4-person paddleboat, a canoe, and of course a hammock in the yard. For those that can't disconnect, the cabin also includes two high-definition TVs with Cable (DVD/Blu-Ray on main TV) and free Wi-Fi! And don't worry, you won't be roughing it, the 2011 renovation also brought all new mechanical systems including air conditioning, new appliances, and a new Kinetico softened water system!!

Situated 5 miles east of the town of Crosslake, crystal clear Lake O'Brien is spring fed with a water clarity of 24', the cleanest lake in the entire watershed district. The lake itself is surrounded by mature pines. There is approximately 5 miles of shoreline, of which about a quarter of the lake is undeveloped state-owned property. During the summer, this recreational lake is perfect for fishing, skiing, wake boarding, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and any other water-based activities, including floating on an air mattress!! There is a sandbar where you can walk across the lake which is a favorite gathering spot for 'kids of all ages'!! It's location on a quiet tar township road make it perfect for a morning walk or bike ride. During the winter months the lake is perfect for ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and is a perfect base camp to access the endless miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

Our property is perfect for a family of up to 6 or a few couples. We have a strict limit of 6 due to the size of the cabin and the single bathroom. We do keep our calendar updated and so if you are seeing availability then it's likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list so you are prepared for your time up north. Feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard. And further, since we also live on this lake, should any questions or problems arise we can respond quickly. In fact, your only disappointment will be when you have to leave!!

The pontoon boat is typically in the water and available for use from mid-May to late September.

Important Information to Read Prior to Booking:
- There is no running water or bathroom INSIDE of the cabin. **There is an outhouse on site. We also have a high powered well located outside of the cabin to pump clean water for dishes, cooking, showering, etc.**
- The well water is clean but it does contain lots of iron. **We recommend bringing drinking water.**
- It has been an extremely wet season. We have fumigated for bugs multiple times, but the bugs can still get pretty bad at night. **We recommend bringing layers, some bug spray or nets for your comfort.**
- Wood for outside fires and the sauna is provided.
- There is no shower at this time. We do have a camp shower that can be hung up outside the sauna. We also like to rinse off/shower with cold water after a nice sauna session as a way to clean off as well. Get creative!

Look no further if a true Minnesota cabin experience is what you're after. Once you arrive, the path to the "Stairway to Heaven" will quickly make you realize why you made the trek Up North. This 1940’s cabin was fully renovated in the winter of 2018 and is essentially brand new inside and out, but the charm of the original cabin has been maintained and is evident throughout. You get the true cabin feel as you enter the main level which combines the family room and dining area for an open, yet cozy feel. The wood-burning fireplace on the main level will warm you up quickly on those cooler nights (firewood included). Enjoy meals at the dining room table or grab a book and snuggle up in front of the wood-burning fireplace or on the built-in bench; all while overlooking Brown's Bay. This level also includes a custom-made Murphy bed that converts to a game table for chess and checkers matches. The quaint kitchen packs all of the amenities you could need, including stainless steel appliances along with a double-drawer beverage fridge. The main level also includes a full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower and additional storage.
The excitement builds as you head up the spiral stairs to the master bedroom, your expectations will most definitely be met as you feel on top of the world all while overlooking Sibley Lake from every angle. You can head out onto the balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine and take in amazing sunset views. The master bathroom has been fully remodeled to include a farmhouse sink, walk-in tiled shower with glass doors and jetted sprays. You will not want to get out of bed in the morning as you will wake up and want to take in all of the beauty that surrounds this room.
As you head back down the spiral staircase, you will then head outside down the exterior staircase into the lower level of the house where you will find Bob’s bar, a perfect spot to hang out with your friends and family or sit and relax and enjoy a movie or game on the flat screen TV. This room also has a leather couch that pulls out into a queen-size bed to allow for additional sleeping space.
As you head out of the lower level you will walk across the patio to the upper boat house. This will likely be the kids or maybe the parents favorite place to hang out as it will feel like their little getaway space. The boathouse has built-in bunk beds, along with a day bed for comfortable sleeping. You will feel like you are sleeping on the water as the boathouse is situated just steps away from the lakeshore.
As you head out of the cabin, you are just steps away from the dock that is perfect for fishing, swimming, and relaxing. Head out for a cruise around the lake or to the sand bar on the 2019 Sylvan fish and cruise pontoon (rental of cabin includes the pontoon boat). Everyone loves a good campfire and s'mores, so the shoreline also boasts a fire pit and Adirondack chairs to enjoy the fire and the lake views on those beautiful Minnesota summer evenings. Finally, the cedar sauna house and patio are a perfect place to begin or end your day. With beautiful views of Sibley Lake, relax and enjoy some quiet time away from all the hustle and bustle.
For those that like to stay connected or to not miss the Wild, Twins, Vikings, United, or T-Wolves games, both the main and lower-level bar have high-definition TV’s with DirectTV or streaming with free fast Wi-Fi.

NOTE: There are a number of stairs on the property as you will see in the photos. We purchased the cabin from folks in their 90’s so we believe these stairs keep you young. A new hill tram was installed in 2024 and is conveniently located to help bring people, supplies and luggage up and down from street level to the cabin and is available for use year-round.
NOTE: The pontoon is in the water, and use is included in the stated rental rates, from approximately mid-May to mid-October (weather dependent).
NOTE: The main cabin includes a central air heating and cooling system. The bunkhouse includes a ductless split that provides both heat and cooling.

Most guests come to a retreat like setting to relax, and I have available many recreational amenities free to use and explore ( and they do!). 26 acres of private acres, boathouse is directly on the lake, which is one of the cleanest in Crow Wing County. Plus we’re near the Cuyuna bike trails Deerwood access. My boathouse is from 1946, and grandfathered in, so some changes are not allowed, such as a bathtub or change in dimensions. There is a shower, standard sized toilet, sink vanity that was part of the boathouse before building restrictions changed a number of years ago. A mini-fridge does not have a freezer, but I have many smaller appliances such as burner/oven/microwave/fry pan/ and other amenities. I have a freezer in the garage guests can use if requested ahead of time. You may use my little gas grill or a charcoal grill. I live on a peninsula, and one side is sugar sand swim area. Wild meadow flowers and an undeveloped shoreline. The peninsula has wildflowers and is completely undeveloped, and a narrow path on the narrow peninsula. My house is on the property, but you will have peace and privacy because I’m seldom home or if I am, I’m usually inside reading a book. Come enjoy quiet lake living! Coming in 2024 WIFI.

Our cabin is all one level (1564 Sq Ft) with an open floor plan that has all the comforts of home. Sleeps a maximum of six guests (includes children) in two private bedrooms. Amenities include bedding and bath towels, washer & dryer, dishwasher and a large eat in kitchen fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy family dinners; Spacious living room and sun-room porch. The garage has been converted into an All Purpose room that has a ping pong table to enjoy on rainy days. Space can also be used to store your fishing and/or boating accessories. Also, off of the all-purpose room is access to a crawl space in case of severe weather. This cabin is not air conditioned but has ceiling fans in most rooms and three portable fans are available. 50" Smart TV provides streaming only - No local channels. Bay Lake is in the heart of the Brainerd lakes area and is a 2,435-acre lake filled with several bays, points and islands and is one of the top bass fishing lakes in Minnesota. Don't forget to pack your favorite lures and poles. Enjoy the public beach/sandbar area on the north side of Church Island. Take your rafts for floating and anchor your boat for the day or afternoon. A public volleyball net is also provided.

We loved the large 4-season porch and the deck is spacious with shady areas throughout the day. The boat dock is in great shape and easily accommodated our large pontoon. There is an outlet on the yardlight that is close to the dock. The driveway was large enough for us to easily maneuver and store our boat trailer. There is a convenient table and water source for cleaning fish near the shed. Bay Lake is very clean with water clarity at least 14 feet. We enjoyed boating, swimming, tubing, and kayaking on the lake. We caught a variety of sunfish and bass of all sizes, some smaller northern pike and crappie. The lake offers many good fishing locations, even in winds with 30mph gusts. The boat traffic is higher on the weekends than during the week. The neighbors were kind and friendly. It is very convenient to boat up to Hansen's for gas and ice; the store is also walking distance and has many basic convenience items; the staff was very helpful. Garrison and Deerwood are both close and had grocery and hardware stores for the things we needed. Thank you for all of the efforts to provide a wonderful vacation location!!"

Everyone loves the little cabin!

- "The cabin was just as pictured, much better than the description! Very clean, had everything you need plus more, such as beach towels, bug spray and sunscreen! And even snacks for our kids! We came with our 5yr old and 6.5yr old. Along with our dog. Everyone loved it! The living area and kitchen was roomy for being a small cabin. Which was nice as we had a rainy day. There was a cute fire pit with chairs and a picnic table. Oh and our fav thing was black out curtains in the bedrooms!! We rent lots of VRBO and we love dark rooms so our kids don’t get up at the crack of dawn! We rented the pontoon and they were great at coming over and showing us details on it. Pontoon ran great and was clean. There is a bigger cabin next door they also rent that’s gorgeous that has a swing set and tiny playhouse cabin for kids. When we came they had gotten so much rain so it was hard to see the exact shoreline, which was nothing they could have done to make it better, so we just went off the end of the dock vs walking in. There was also kayaks and a canoe that was fun to use. We don’t have a negative thing to say about our stay! And we already can’t wait to come back!"

Located outside of Pine River, Minnesota on Lake Arrowhead, originally a 1930's log cabin, this family lake home has changed much, but it can still be the place where older character blends with newer charm. Connect with nature, restore your energy!

The space
Our lake cabin is named after Ken, the family patriarch, who, along with his loving wife, enjoyed many years of retreat here, including some retirement years. The family's eclectic tastes are reflected in the memorabilia, hand crafted furniture, collectibles and repurposed items. As a family, we also use this space. We watch birds and wildlife, sketch, read, photograph, go canoeing, watch the stars. (We also do chores, and those never stop.)
We cautiously state that small children are a safety risk. The family mementos indoors are fragile; outdoors there is a hill and toddlers could be at risk.
That said, we want our guests to be comfortable and allow the place melt to away the stress! This place is best appreciated by fewer people, because it isn't a large area.
We also want to say, after receiving positive responses from guests everywhere, we want people to feel welcome, respecting some of the restrictions. It is really important, when making inquiries, to provide information and answer questions we might have to clarify the situation before accepting the reservation.

Guest access
The canoe will be available. There is also a one person kayak and floats. The lake has public boat access and the dock can handle small- medium -sized craft. The dock is short and the lake can be noticeably shallow at times, so larger boats are not suitable. The parking area can also be for outdoor games; there is a grill, fire pit, outdoor table, large deck, and inside there are games, movies, TV, books. The lake is, of course, available for fishing, dipping as well as boating. We have been told recently that the fishing is good, in spite of some weeds. Bass, bluegills, sunfish, walleye can be caught. Our lake, Lake Arrowhead, is comparatively shallow and weedy, but a channel into the deeper lakes (and where you would come if you had your own boat using public access) is just across from our property.

Other things to note
The local Welcome and Visitor Centers are great sources of information! Second hand stores are abundant and fun for shopping. Festivals are everywhere; and there is something for everyone. Truly, the area is full of beautiful lakes and activities that can keep anyone busy, but we hope you take the time to sit and listen to the loons!

Enjoy our 1 bd/1 ba cabin! It has a full kitchen, screened porch, washer/dryer & shares a 4-acre wooded lot with the adjacent Clubhouse with a stretching/exercise room, outdoor hot tub & barrel sauna you can use. The lot has a private tennis court & 1/4 mile walking trail. Nice streets to walk or ride in the neighborhood, and downtown Nisswa and the Paul Bunyan Trail are a short 1 mile walk, bike ride or drive away. DOG FRIENDLY! The cabin is professionally cleaned between every reservation.

The space
This is an old hunters cabin, we think it's from the 50's or 60's but we're not sure. It heats using heating oil, and has electric baseboards, too.

Guest access
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself! You'll share the tennis court, trail, hot tub, sauna and exercise/stretching room with any guests staying over at the Clubhouse (which is where those amenities are located). The Clubhouse is a 2 bed / 2 bath building that's available to rent separately from -- or together with -- this cabin.

Other things to note
Check out the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce at Nisswa (dot) com for activities scheduled year round -- lots happening in the summer. But checkout winter activities, too, like the Fall Festival in September, Oktoberfest in October, Festival of Lights Thanksgiving weekend in November and other holiday stuff in December.

Amador Hill Haven in an extremely private getaway cabin on top of Amador Hill, nestled deep in the woods with a view of the St. Croix River in Wisconsin from the deck. You can find the rest and peace you are looking for or you can enjoy numerous local opportunities in near-by small town rural America, plus many outdoor activities, jogging, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, downhill skiing, water sliding, kayaking, picnicking and amenities offered in Wild River State Park.

There is no TV on site but guests are welcome to bring their own streaming devices and connect to the WiFi.

Drive the car, truck or UTV/ATV up the road to the local bar and grill to eat, or even up the trails. There are a couple short trails around the cabin.
