Birch is a studio built in 2017 - square log construction. Many guests describe Birch like being on a houseboat. When you sit on the couch or glider rocker, you can only see water. Complete kitchen with microwave, full refrigerator, dishwasher and range. There is a place for everything. This is a more private location at the very east end of the resort. It’s also our closest cabin to Big Sand Lake–about 3 feet. When you look out the huge front windows, it looks like your floating on the water. The Birch studio home is a favorite for cuddling couples and small families.

Our Pine Cone Lodge Resort is located between two lakes! More rustic and scenic Loon/Thomas Lake is shallower and great for bass and panfish. It does not have public access. There is public access on Big Sand Lake on the south-east shore.

Being able to use the small dock for casting off and the fire pit at night were great bonuses. Bonnie was really great to work with and made a point to check on how our stay was going when we saw her working around the resort property. We would definitely stay here again if there are ever any openings!"

We can provide that, with a 2 bedroom cabin 10 feet from the shores of Big Sand Lake, Park Rapids, Minnesota. Big Sand is one of the areas premier fishing and recreational lakes. 1800 acre lake with 35-foot water clarity, hard pack sand bottom, gradual slope out, and no weeds!! Fantastic swimming off the end of the dock. The cabin is a rustic two bedroom with a large deck and lakeside fire pit. There is a double bed in one bedroom. The other bedroom has a bunk bed with full mattress on the bottom and twin on top. Beautiful setting among towering white and red pines, right on the water, with a fabulous fire pit overlooking a natural rocky shoreline. This cabin faces west for the best sunset views in Hubbard County.
The cabin is NOT handicap accessible, and people with mobility issues will find the steps difficult. There are 35 stone steps down (from parking) to cabin and waters edge.
There are no hard-wired phones, but there is wifi and internet access.
Our cabin is part of an old resort, so there are nearby neighbors and we kindly ask that you respect their privacy if they happen to be in residence.
We have a canoe and 2 kayaks for you to enjoy that are included with the cabin rental. There is also a 20ft pontoon with a 60hp motor for rent. Please message for details. Motorized boat rentals will be charged outside of VRBO - please contact Jim - the owner/property manager if interested prior to your check in.

Great fishing, free use of dock and boat launch, kayaks, canoe, grill and firepit.
The property is allowed to have 4 people per county license. This cabin sleeps 2 comfortably since there is only one bedroom (king size bed). There is loveseat and oversize chair in living area that could also be used if needed.
We would also appreciate that there are no other or extra guests invited to the cabin during your stay.
Recently added a window Air Conditioner so it keeps cabin quite comfy.

This Cabin is located on Little Mantrap Lake. The lake is spring-fed and known for its crystal-clear water and great fishing. You can find a variety of fish including Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Pan Fish, and More! The lake ranges from 10ft-40ft deep, which makes it a great spot to go boating, tubing, and swimming.

If you are wanting to get away from the hustle and experience northern Minnesota then this is the place. Our log cabin is situated in the woods with newly updated windows. Relax in the futon or the full size bed in the loft and eat your meals in the enclosed porch area or enjoy the fire pit outside. If you are wanting to get off the grid then this is the place. The is no indoor plumbing or electricity. There is an external outhouse behind the cabin that is cleaned regularly. We offer use of 2 kayaks to be used on Long Lake or a nearby river. Please communicate ahead of your stay if you are interested in using them. Our cabin provides you peace and tranquillity nestled in the woods yet convenient to Park Rapids and close to the headwaters.

- "Vrbo site described this cabin having a bath... there was none, no running water, no river in sight, no kayak as pictured... I was new to booking on a website, so did not know to read the "fine print", the description of the cabin as only having an outhouse! I had to use GPS on my phone in order to even find the cabin! There was no visible pathway to it. My wife has MS and nearly fell over a big log in the path. The online photos made the place look very inviting, much better than it actually was. We ended up not even staying in the cabin, had to rent a motel room instead. I communicated our vast disappointment to the owner via text messaging, he offered some other property on the site or somewhere, by this time it was totally dark, and I was not going to travel back to the address and look for it. I requested reimbursement of my money, which he would not do. We were immensely disappointed with the whole process, and that Vrbo would actually list such a site, especially calling an outhouse a bath! Would appreciate a response and any satisfaction from Vrbo. Thank you."
