In its prior life, our cottage was a local dance pavilion, with a train running past several times a week. The railroad tracks have since been removed and grown over and the pavilion, transformed into a lovely cottage for your stay.
Dunnings Creek runs right along our property, so you can enjoy a day of fishing or kayaking! ( we hope to be able to offer kayaks soon). Later in the summer, the water is warm enough to play in. We often have bald Eagle sightings, deer leaping through the yard, as well as other wildlife.
Some local sights and attractions include Flight 93 National Memorial, Shawnee State Park, Raystown Lake, Old Bedford Village, Jean Bonnet Tavern, Bedford Springs, Lincoln Caverns, and numerous Covered Bridges. Most weekends over the summer, Bedford Fairgrounds plays host to various car races. Summer also brings the Farmer’s Market to the town square on Wednesdays.

- "Outdoor spaces were plentiful and great for family gatherings. Fire pits were a treat for night time family time and toasting marshmallows. Sleeping quarters were very luxurious. Movie room was fabulous. Chairs reclined and super comfortable. Fit two people per chair! Open concept is beautiful but you could hear all footsteps everywhere. Close to town of Bedford and Bedford Omni Springs. Many Hiking trails. Had a great time. Would definitely go back!"

They provide all the basic necessities, kitchen well stocked, decorated to adorable. Completely remodeled cottage ready for you and your family! With sleeping for 8, bring everyone along. Located against the bank of Dunnings Creek, a set of stairs grants access to the water. There will be a dock soon, but in the meantime, enjoy fishing from the bank.
You may see a bald Eagle or two, deer trotting by and possibly the occasional turkey. Enjoy a campfire in the evening and throw a few marshmallows on sticks… s’mores anyone?
During the day, venture around the area. Local sights and attractions include Downtown Bedford.. with many local artisans and small eateries, Shawnee State Park, Raystown Lake, Flight 93 Memorial, Old Bedford Village, Jean Bonnet Tavern, Lincoln Caverns and number covered bridges… just to name a few. Summer weekends bring races to the Bedford Speedway and the local Farmer’s Market is held every Wednesday in the town square.
* Mobility issue… to gain access to cottage there are several steps, once inside there in a small step from the kitchen up into the living room.
The cottage is approximately 4 miles from Rt 30, I-99 and PA turnpike. We welcome guests that are just “traveling through “ for a night.

- "The cottage was super cute, a great place for a much-needed girl's weekend away. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the coffee and snacks were a special treat. The only issue we had was finding the house the first day, we arrived after dark and had trouble finding the gravel driveway to the cottage. We had an amazing weekend exploring Bedford."

The Bedford Cottage is located down a quiet back lane, next to acres of farmland backing up to the Dunning Creek. This entirely renovated 3 bedroom cottage is located 10 minutes from downtown historic Bedford, 30 minutes to Blue Knob Ski Resort and minutes to The Omni Springs Resort & Spa. The home sits on the back of the Host’s property with a shared private drive and gated access which will remain open when guests are present. Parking is accessible on the street or in the large driveway in front of the property. There is a lighted walkway from the cement driveway to the home that makes luggage transfer easy.

Guests have full access to the entire home (with exception to the cellar) which includes 3 full bedrooms (1 queen bed, 2 twin beds downstairs and 1 king bed upstairs) and 2 bathrooms (one on each level). There is a full kitchen, dining room and living room. The living room couch is a pull out queen sofa-bed. There is one additional room upstairs that is used by the owners for property storage that may be locked.
