This beautiful, quiet property is adjacent to the Raystown Lake Federal Lands* and in between the Marina and Resort areas. We constantly try to improve the property, and in 2018 we extended the all-seasons room to the deck, making a large outdoor deck area! We added a fire pit and a new, larger, hot tub! Stroll down a private (no homes front the land), quiet country lane to a quiet entrance to the lake. You can hear the birds singing and the fish leaping out of the water! This is a great place for kayaking, fishing, or playing in the water. (We can rent up to 4 kayaks upon request, in cooperation with another owner, so we must charge an additional fee. You must transport to the water.) The lakeside is also a perfect place for a private picnic or to gaze at the stars.
Just one mile down the road is the Aitch boat launch and fishing pier. A wonderful view of the tree-covered mountains surrounds you. Public guided boat tours are available at the Marina and Resort areas.

You will truly enjoy the smart HD TV in the living room, the regulation-sized (7') AMF pool table, and the 6-person hot tub.

The master bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and a large master bath w/ oversized Jacuzzi (non-jetted) tub, separate shower, walk-in closet, and Kohler fixtures. This master bedroom has a sliding glass door onto the deck with a beautiful view of the federal lands and the neighbor's pond where you can frequently find a blue heron looking for fish. (We do not have a direct view of the lake, very few lake properties do, which keeps the lake experience from the water pristine - no private docks are permitted on the federal land surrounding the lake.)

The main floor has a dining room & living room w/ gas fireplace. The modern kitchen has every convenience you need including an island w/ a Jenn-Air grill & gas range unit, a side-by-side refrigerator, built-in microwave, built-in oven, dishwasher, & garbage disposal. We also supply a drip coffee maker, rice cooker, crock-pot, and other kitchen small appliances. The laundry room and a half bath are also on the main floor. There is a screened-in 3 seasons room w/ glass sliding-door entrances from the kitchen, the pool table room, and the master bedroom. It is absolutely lovely out there, and you have a nice view of the pond, which frequently boasts of bird activity. You will hear the birds singing all day, and you will frequently be able to watch the barn swallows careen just above the grass while they feed.

This home has a heat pump, central air, ceiling fans, skylights & nice attached 26’ x 26' garage.

Please note that the pipeline that was installed recently that runs under the lake also went through our property and severely damaged our landscaping, and the emerald ash borer damaged our trees. We are working to replace all, but it will take a few years as I will NOT use herbicides on the property for your safety!

The house features two bedrooms and one full bath with an updated Bath Fitter tub and shower unit with sterdy safety bars. Our Red Roof log cabin is in a secluded wooded area at Raystown Lake. The lake is within walking distance or a short drive down Parks Road. There are many trails on the property that are nice to hike or to see the deer and other wildlife in the woods. There is also plenty of room for your boat, and boat access is located within 4 miles from Snyder Run Access Area or 7.5 miles from Seven Points Marina. The cabin has most of the comforts of home, including TV, air conditioning, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and a gas fireplace.

The cabin boasts an open floor plan consisting of a living room, kitchen, dining area and powder room on the upper level. The lower level has two bedrooms. Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania. The 29 mile long lake and surrounding area are owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with great hiking, hunting, boating, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. Other popular attractions include caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have recently created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. Fishing tournaments frequent the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.

The "Little J" -- well known to fly fishers far and wide -- is one of Pennsylvania's best trout streams and popular with kayakers and river tubers as well; we are just a mile down-river from the village of Barree.

Built in 1902 on a wooded acre by 2nd and 3rd generation descendants of late 18th Century settlers of northern Huntingdon County, the home has been carefully maintained and fully modernized -- serving both as a seasonal and a long-term residence over the last 120 years. Expanded periodically since first built, the home retains many of its original architectural features together with some period furnishings.

Take your morning coffee on our all-seasons porch (screened in warm weather, enclosed with thermal widows in cold weather). Hike up the road into the Rothrock State Forest lands. Hike the Mid-state Trail from a nearby trail head with adequate parking.

The cottage comprises about 975 sq ft (90 sq m) and can accommodate 4 guests comfortably.

The kitchen is equipped with dish soap, dish cloths and dish towels, pots and pans, cooking utensils, toaster, toaster oven with broiler, microwave oven, plates, cups, coffee pots (French Press and Italian Stove Top Espresso), glasses, and flatware. The kitchen seats up to 4 persons, with a 1920s-era Hoosier cupboard and a professionally-restored, 1950s-era gas range, ready for stove-top cooking.

- "Nice getaway" - "Wonderfull quiet location, It's a rustic cabin, so it's not "glamping" but it has all the amenities you need to keep you comfortable for your stay. Amazing hosts and a special welcoming from Walter (the turkey) was a nice touch. Larger vehicle preferred for the last bit of road up the mountain. Will return." - "This was our first visit to Urban Saddle Ranch and it was exactly what we wanted! We had our own cottage with bed linens, towels, and cookware. The rooms were clean, we had a fire ring, and a grill. We brought our dog and it worked out well! The hosts were super friendly and they have horses, ducks, cats, a peacock, a turkey that welcomes you. The experience is very cool! We even adopted a kitten that we have added to the family!! - "Convenient location extremely close to trails and Marina. We were able to easily mountain bike and hike as well as launch our boat. Love that there was enough parking for two vehicles and the boat. Home was clean and could easily sleep six people. It was nice to have a full-size fridge. The two burner stove was a bit uneven to cook with, and the Wi-Fi was spotty but other than that it was perfect. We would definitely book here again." - "We enjoyed our stay here. - "Loved the location near raystown lake and where we go floating. Owners are very nice. We loved the cabins with turkeys ,pigs and horses. The turkey stayed at our cabin mostly all weekend and slept on front porch. Very peaceful location Bed wee comfy" - "This was a wonderful place for a weekend away. You can find swimming, mini-golf, horse-back riding, and a water park not far away at Raystown Resort and only about 45 minutes south of State College. You'll find a massively long dining table, a large living room with a fireplace and hearth reaching to the cathedral ceilings, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of space for guests to sleep (up to 14). You'll also find spacious outdoor space for spending time, including a large front porch, a large rear deck with seating and a firepit on the premises. Although there is one bathroom, you'll find a large shower with a seat. If you've ever booked with us on Airbnb, you will note that we have a super host status and we've been welcoming guests to our beautiful cabin for over 3 years now. We welcome you to check our beloved family cabin in this beautiful location for yourself.

- "Cabin was very clean. Always have an awesome time." - "When I leave a review I like to be as detailed as possible, both good and bad. The truth is I really can’t say anything bad about this property. I did give the online description four stars but that’s only because it doesn’t do it justice. The accommodations are actually better than what is shown in the photos. Many people complain that the water on site is unusable, the truth is it’s well water and decent at that. Good pressure and actually pretty good for coming out of a well, not very hard at all. A slight odor but that’s expected from a well source. If you’ve never had a well or used well water before it might be an issue for you. It’s remote but not that far away from civilization, no neighbors and the next closest property is well over a quarter mile away. There is cell service at the site but it is limited, it’s still enough to make calls if needed. Overall an outstanding experience, one caveat if you’re planning to rent here. You WILL need four wheel or all wheel drive. The access is very steep."

We had everything we needed, and so much more provided by the host. The fire pit area is perfect, and with the games, DVDs, and other extras you will not miss being "off the grid." There are other houses/camps nearby, but we only saw 2 cars and a few curious goats all weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer!"
