Situated in the peaceful countryside, the property is less than 10 minutes to the nearest town with grocery store, restaurants, shops, live theatre and sites. It’s 15 minutes from various popular walking and biking trails. It is 45 minutes drive from Notre Dame and 1 hr. 10 min. drive to various beaches along the shore of Lake Michigan.

**This is a working farm with cows, chickens, and our famous friendly farm dog, Dixie who views herself as the concierge of the farmhouse. The house itself is situated beside a main farmhouse which is occupied by the farmer and his wife. There will be farm activity going on outside the main house, but the little farmhouse is completely separate and has its own drive and parking.

*Because of the steep stairway, woodstove, and pond, the house may not be conducive to toddlers or very young children not able to navigate these things. Parents use your discretion.

- "We had a very pleasant stay at Debra's property. We live in Indiana but wanted a nearby getaway for the end of summer. We stayed there with 3 kids 7 and under who LOVED the game room. Debra seemed to have thought of tons of stuff to entertain everyone. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We used the grill one night and brought our own fishing poles and fished off the dock (didn't catch anything though!). We didn't spend too much time in the lake beyond just splashing in the shallow end as there was quite a bit of algae/seaweed. Overall we had a great time and would recommend to others! As the description states you would need to carefully watch young children. Also might be difficult for someone that has trouble with stairs. This unique property has been in the Albert Family for 3 generations. The original facility was built in 1945 and served as Albert's Hall for the Lapaz community. Many civic events and square dances were held every Saturday night for the local entertainment in this building. In 1964 the building was sold to the Hale family where they held church there for 50 years. In the summer of 2017 Bruce Albert, grandson of the original owner, purchased the property back and converted back into lodging and event space. We have added a game room. Also, our local park has a playground and pickleball court just yards away. We also provide the paddles and balls for pickleball.

My lovely Country Home is nestled on a peaceful country lane, surrounded by charming country residences and the occasional turkey moseying across backyard. The backyard is simply stunning, with deer often making an appearance. During the spring and summer, you'll frequently spot bikers and walkers enjoying the scenic route.

Conveniently situated, my home is just a short 5-10 minute drive away from various amenities such as banks, grocery stores, a shopping center, Walmart, McDonald's, Arby's, Captain D's, Chic-fil-A, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Logan's Steak House, Texas Roadhouse, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Culver's, Hardee's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wendy's, Burger King, Little Caesar's, Starbucks, Panera Bread, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, sweetFrogs Premium Frozen Yogurt, Wild Buffalo Wings, Subway, Crumble Cookie, Haciendas, Blaze Pizza, and Five Guys.

There are two entrances to the house: Both front and back doors provide security for our guest, each having a Schlage Smart
Lock with a personal code assigned to the guest/s for the duration of the booking stay. One step up leads to the front door under a covered porch giving entrance to living room on the main level. Three steps at the back door's open porch gives entrance to a mud room, great for dropping the winter gear; it leads directly to a short hallway open to the kitchen on the main level, as well as, the lower level or by way of a stairway with a handrail.

Located on the lower level is the laundry facility, a game/play room, the master bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have Smart TV's. A full bathroom is shared on the lower level.

The fully equipped kitchen on the main level with a microwave, dish washer, oven, refrigerator and Deluxe Coffee Bar leads to the open living room space with a relaxing lounge sofa and a large screen Smart TV. The lounge sofa has queen pull out bed. TV Console and an uplifted table hold games and gaming items. An open foyer from the living room leads to the second full bathroom centered between another bedroom with a queen bed and the formal dining area.

From the living room a stairway with a handrail ascends to the large open loft space with 3 twin beds and air mattress, if requested. There is a space with toys for small children, a bookshelf, books, chair with a side table, and a suitcase rack.

Three steps are required to exit or enter the back door and patio space. The beautifully railed back porch deck, is encircled by a paved patio with a gas fire table and white bench seating with night lighting.. large gas grill with a side gas table. A brand new HOT TUB completes the large patio providing the most requested and sought after amenity for guest to relax in privacy. A brick fire pit with wooden benches is located at the back near the tree line of the spacious backyard which is great for family fun, roasting marshmallows , making s'mores and playing games.

Our cabin, located in Bourbon IN, is perfect for a couple's getaway or even for a single, looking for some alone time. Set in the 4 acre woods on our property, the cabin was a labor of love. Most of the cabin was built by us personally, including the kitchen, the floors and walls, rafters and woodwork, and some of the furniture. Rustic Pottery Barn is the decor style.

The cabin includes a living room and dining room, kitchen with a small fridge and a 2 burner stove, and a loft with a full size bed. There is a ladder that leads to the loft, so you must be okay with climbing a ladder.

The restroom (aka the "loo") is in a separate building behind the cabin. Hot and cold running water. No shower, just a claw foot tub.

There is a front porch for sitting and rocking. Our fire-pit is complete with plenty of wood for some enjoyable nights around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and popping popcorn. We also have a gas grill.

Our two-person hammock is very relaxing if you want to take a snooze. If you want a little fun, we have horseshoes, axe throwing, and cornhole.

We are one mile from the Back Forty Sporting Clays, so you will hear shotgun sounds during the day. The evenings are quiet and the sunsets are beautiful on our dirt country road. Our road is perfect for a long walk... We think we have a haven out here in the country.

Our little town is 6 miles away and has a Family Dollar, a Subway, Bourbon Street Pizza, a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, a Mexican restaurant, and a family diner. For more stores and restaurants, Warsaw is only 15 miles and has Wal-mart, Kohls, Meijer, Ruby Tuesdays, Hacienda, Texas Roadhouse, Bob Evans and a variety of other great eateries.

We are located 30 miles south of South Bend (Perfect for Notre Dame weekends!) , 45 miles west of Ft. Wayne, 50 miles north of Logansport, 2.5 hours north of Indianapolis and 2.5 hours east of Chicago. Easy to get to the bigger cities.

For several years we owned and rented out our lake cottage, so we are very familiar with making our guests comfortable and had perfect reviews. We were full every week, with many who were repeat guests.

Our cabin is suitable for a maximum of 2 adults. There is only one bed. Babies are welcome, but no toddlers because of the open loft.

We do not have cable or satellite, but the cabin does get a few local stations. A dvd player is available. Bring your own videos. (We do have a small library.) Redbox available in town. No internet. However, if you need to check your email, we have wifi at our house and it makes it to the cabin porch and you are welcome to check your mail on wifi from our patio.

No visitors, please. Must be 21 or over. No "partying". TWO NIGHT MINIMUM.
