- "Had a nice stay at the Hotel Athena. Nothing fancy but functional. Not very accessible to main mountain at Val Thorens but they have a gondola very close in town that takes you to Meribel, one of the mountains. From there, you can access the 3 Valleys." - "Liked the location. Did not like large dog in room next to mine." - "The car park is quite small, with two areas, one under cover for 5 cars and one open air up a steep ramp for 4-5 cars. The hotel has very pleasant staff who speak good english. We checked in at midday (a bit early but they allowed it) and the room was a bit cool so we increased the temperature on the thermostat and when we returned later it was toasty warm. The bath is full size (1700mm) and there was plenty of hot water in the evening. Having a separate toilet was convenient in the family room. The children slept in a separate room within the suite which had bunk beds and they loved it. We had breakfast which had 3 different types of cereal, different bread and a toaster, a fridge of yogurts and plenty of fruit, the usual croissants and pain au chocolat, a coffee machine which also did hot chocolate, and egg boiler and fresh orange and apple juice. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would definitely return."

- "Close to everything" - "Our expectations weren't especially high for this stay; we were trying to do 3 Valleys skiing on a tight budget. The hotel rooms were a bit tired, but perfectly clean and comfortable, and matching what we expected for 2 star hotel. However, the food was really good and the staff very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay in the hotel again, and will recommend it to our friends. The town of Brides Les Bains doesn't have a lot to offer, but the location of the hotel is fantastic for the cable car up to Meribel and the 20 minute ride was no problem. In fact, from what we could see of Meribel from the cable car, we'd have had a much longer walk with our skis than we had staying at Hotel La Vanoise. Overall, great value for money and a great option for 3 Valleys skiing on a budget."

- "Simple hotel, clean and tidy. We used it as a base to ski in Meribel, So we only spent a few hours sleeping and having breakfast at the hotel. We will stay again. 2 min walk to lift station, some car parking, ski and boot room, again simple but works." - "This hotel is awful and disgusting; the smell of mold and dust instantly chokes you as you enter. The bed was hard, the pillows were awful, and the blanket was very thin, making the winter stay extremely cold. The bathroom is designed in such a way that even with a heater, the shower remains freezing cold. The room had a full kitchen, but not a single piece of cutlery or utensils, and our request to be provided with any kind of dish had been denied, as apparently we were not allowed to use the kitchen!?. Every roadside motel has at least a coffee maker, and this was a $300 per night chalet!! The breakfast was included, but it was so disgusting and the same everyday that we had to get breakfast elsewhere. The pool is closed during the winter, and the spa costs 20 euros to visit. Be aware that stairs lead to many rooms. Thankfully, a kind worker was willing to help us with carrying the luggage. The staff are all hard working and kind, but it did not help to make this hotel meet any decent standards. The pictures are deceiving, as this hotel is a complete ripoff for the money."

Located close to the unit is the bus stop for the free village shuttle bus which will also take you to the Olympic Gondala which links directly to to some of the very best skiing on the planet - a 20 minute magical ride away. A short 5 minute walk away is the local supermarket, tiny but absolutely jam packed to the rafters with everything you need. They speak French and English. The unit is well located in a small, pretty French semi-alpine village. I found it to be easy to get to from Australia - plane, train, bus - and a cost effective solution for my ski vacation."

The apartment is just 300m from the centre of Brides Les Bain and 600m from the Gondola, which gives direct access to Meribel and the whole of the three Valleys - the largest ski area in the world. The apartment is massive 56m2 which includes a large living and dining area, kitchen, one double bedroom (King size bed) with ensuite shower room, one bunk room, one bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet. There is a cabin area with bunk beds in the hallway, this is a cosy but spacious area separated by a curtain for privacy.
The sofa bed coverts to 2 full size single beds, with good mattresses that can be put together or separated. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave/oven, an additional large (52 litre) oven/grill, ceramic hob, pressure cooker, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher, large fridge and more kitchenware than you will need to self cater for 6-8 people. A recent addition is a good quality washing machine. The apartment Sleeps 6 comfortably but can accommodate a maximum of 8, with 2 people sleeping in the living room area. Free underground parking is provided, with easy access to the apartment lifts for unloading. FREE UNLIMITED and very reliable WIFI in the apartment (serves only our apartment) also Satellite TV with endless English and French Channels and large 32 inch screen. Fresh croissants and bread are sold in reception every morning throughout the winter season. There is a large balcony with seating and stunning views across the mountains.
We have now owned the apartment for 8 years and have made many improvements and additions. If you have stayed in any Les Cybeles apartments before ours has many extras and advantages.
We have tried to keep additional costs to a minimum, secure underground parking is free, WIFI and Satellite TV are free. The apartment is equipped with everything you need. You can bring your own towels and bedding, or hire from us at just the cost for laundering. Duvets (1 king size, 6 singles), blankets and pillows are supplied. We supply tea, coffee and sugar . In addition soap, shower gel, cleaning materials, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets will all be in the apartment. All linen you have ordered will be in the apartment so you don't need to queue at reception. There is plenty of storage space and lots of hooks for drying wet ski clothes. If you order ski passes, these will also be waiting for you in the apartment so make your first day as easy as possible.
We have negotiated various discounts for our guests: the very convenient ski hire shop in the residence will give you a 40% discount.
Three Valleys Ski passes can be ordered in advance with a discount on some weeks and will be waiting for you on arrival. We can also arrange a food pack if you need.
We have a local English couple (French speakers) who manage the apartment locally and will help you if needed, contact details will be supplied when you book.
Keys will be in a key safe outside the apartment, including a fob to open the underground garage. You will be given a security number for the key safe once we have received your final payment. You can therefore arrive as late as you like with no fear of not getting in!
A car is helpful in the summer, but for the winter season everything you need is close by. The gondola is 600m away; a 10 minute walk or there is a ski bus which runs from the bottom of the drive every 15 minutes which goes directly to the gondola. All the amenities of Bride Les Bain are less than a 5 minute walk. If you have a car there is an enormous 'Super U' supermarket a few minutes away on the Moutiers road which is very good value. Without a car it would be worth a taxi trip to stock up on food for the week if you are self catering as it is much cheaper than the local small super market.
Brides-les-Bains in the Savoie region is a genuinely all-year-round resort village. It is part of the 3 Valleys, height 600 m and connects to the ski slopes by gondola located only 600 m from the apartment which takes you to the Meribel ski runs, and from there you have access to the whole of the three valleys. Brides-les-Bains is also famous for its thermal spa and bathing facilities dedicated to weight loss and muscular or joint problems. The unique 1500 m2 spa for your after ski, or summer relaxation features hammam (Turkish steam baths), sauna, body care and a relaxation room. The Spa makes the town ideal if you are a mixed group of skiers and non-skiers.
In the summer Brides les Bain is as lively as in the winter and is a great base to explore the Alps (walking, mountain biking, horse riding, white water rafting, kayaking etc). It is a very pretty town with a central river area, lots of lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, but without the high prices of the rest of the three valleys. There is an excellent market every Wednesday in the summer months. Within a 5 minute walk of the apartment you will find a post office, chemist, doctors surgery, numerous and varied shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Also a disco and casino! There is an excellent, good value pizza restaurant within 2 minutes walk of the apartment. Bride Les Bain is an incredibly pretty and friendly little town, with a beautiful central river area and everything you need for both a winter ski holiday and summer activities or Spa.

The Three Valleys, in the heart of the French Alps has rightly earned its name as the largest integrated skiing area in the world. 330 marked ski-slopes offer a total of 600 kilometres of pure skiing enjoyment. Thanks to around 180 ski-lifts, the ski-slopes (between 1300m and 3200 m) are reached quickly and easily, including glacier areas. The enormous infrastructure of ski-runs and lifts connects not only the large ski stations at Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel-Mottaret and Courchevel with one another but also the up-and-coming smaller skiing locations at Saint Martin and La Tania.
The Belleville valley, with the ski stations St. Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens, the Courchevel valley with its tiered landscape districts of Courchevel 1300, 1550, 1650 and 1850 are all connected together with the centrally situated Méribel valley into a massive skiing area. Good Skiers can experience all three valleys of the skiing area in a single day, having the choice of countless ski-runs. However there is something for everyone from easy to difficult runs, so that experienced skiers as well as beginners can enjoy the three Valleys.

Apart from the best skiing conditions, the area is also excellent for snowboarders. There are several funparks and their own area for boardercross and halfpipe in each of the three valleys. Val Thorens, (2,300m) lures 1,500 snowboarders every December from across the whole world to the legendary Boarderweek, with competitions, concerts and numerous events. Skiers are also offered extra variety with countless mogul runs, endless deep-snow slopes, demanding tours and the possibility to go heli-skiing. Cross-country skiers are well catered for with 118 kilometres of well marked trails. In addition there many snow-shoe treks on marked routes of different lengths and difficulty levels.
There are four different toboggan runs, which may also be used at night, The Tête Ronde toboggan run in Val Thorens, the highest run of its kind in Europe is 6 kilometres long; it starts at a height of 3000 metres, and ends at 700 metres. A journey that takes approximately 30 minutes. Other toboggan runs – including one for inflatable toboggans, amongst other things - can be found in Courchevel and Les Menuires.
There are many ski and boarding schools in Meribel, including ESF but also several English schools. The Olympic Centre in Meribel has an ice rink, Olympic size pool with kids pool and slides, and crèche facilities, All literally just at the top of the Gondola from Brides Les Bain. Meribel offers endless more opportunities for Apres-Ski, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Sunny in the mornings. WiFi reception 10/10 – excellent. Bathroom small but very nicely redone. The apartment is on the second floor and there is a modern lift. Washing-machine, Microwave, Coffee-maker, Toaster, electric 4-spot hob (very efficient!) – etc – all there. Local SPAR mini-mart shop barely 5 mins away by foot. Great Street Market 0n Wednesday mornings: don't miss the roasted chickens and local Savoyarde Dairy products...! Parking not really an issue – though could be difficult during July and especially August. The Hostess was excellent, very professional and charming with it. Totally recommend this space for a single person or a couple. My personal taste would predicate that more numbers than a couple could get a little "crowded". "

A 2 bedroom apartment is ideal for a family of 5/6 , they are designed for 8 people but with only 1 toilet we found it ok for 5 of us but I really would it want to share it between 2 families.
