- "best apartment and most convenient apartment we've stayed in" - "We booked a 2 bedrooms apartment for the 3 of us. The apartment was spacious and nice view on the mountain. We had 2 bathroom which was great but unfortunately 1 of the heater was not functioning for half our stay so it was really cold to take a bath and we had to complain several times before they replaced the towels heater. They obviously knew the issue as they already ordered a new one. They never offered any compensation or to move us in another apartment. The ski room was super smelly and congested especially in the morning. That it was at the point I was feeling nauseous. Another downside was the spa area, way too small for the amount of guests. Only one small Hot tub always full. The sauna was super crowded that it made it impossible to use and same with the steam room that wasn't even hot enough and the eucalyptus was so strong it would make your eyes watering. So we only went once as it was not enjoyable. At Les Arcs 1800 there is almost nothing beside the residence and the hotel. Just 1 small Spar. For shopping, bars, restaurants you have to take the Dahu Lift that connect to Les Arcs 1600. We also drove to Les Arcs 1950 (about 20 min drive but totally worth it. Les Arcs 1950 is such a nice resort. Overall experience was okay but we won’t probably go back to this place."

- "Check in and out was really simple and overall staff were polite and helpful. Food isnt cordon bleu but theres a really good selection of entirely decent food in abundance. Its an alpine hotel so the rooms are small but that should be expected from anybody one their second ski trip or above. The hotel is very family oriented including evening kids activities in the bar so perhaps a bit off piste for stag / hen dos or lads / girls nights out. Otherwise its not super modern but the facilities all work. The food isnt gourmet but its all pretty good. Its entirely true that you get what you pay for so if you want a chef, butler, butcher, baker and candlestick maker then look elsewhere. We had a great stay!"

We planned to do quite a bit of cooking, due to our diet needs and we had been wondering if we would be able to, as we know that this kind of accommodation tends to have only the very basic. We didn't need to worry, there was a very good hob, a good sized electric oven and a microwave. We had taken games to play at night, but we realized the flat had more than enough games to keep us entertained. A light and sunny apartment in the Hameau du Glacier residence, Les Arcs 1950, with views over the piste and mountains beyond. Furnished in traditional alpine style and well equipped, the 53m2 apartment boasts 2 en-suite bedrooms, one with twin beds (2m long), a bath and WC and the other with a king size bed (also 2m long) with a shower and separate WC. The bedrooms are situated to either side of the living / dining area. A double size sofa bed is located in the living area, though we prefer occupancy of up to 4 people. The living space and both bedrooms each have large windows to take advantage of the afternoon sun. A private balcony allows al-fresco dining later in the ski season and in the summer. Entertainment facilities include a smart satellite TV and free wi-fi. Fully serviced with towels and linen provided, with an option to have a mid-week clean and / or change of towels and linen (at additional cost, supplied on request). For stays longer than one week, a full clean (excluding the kitchen area) and change of towels and linen at the end of each week is included. Saturday changeover only at present.
Arc1950 was originally developed by the Canadian specialist, Intrawest (who also created the Whistler and Mont Tremblant resorts) between 2003 and 2007 in order to provide, for the first time, a high standard of self-catered accommodation in the French Alps. The traditional architecture of Arc 1950 is striking with a clear move away from the style of earlier developments. All the facilities of the village are right on your doorstep. Shops, bars and restaurants are all located on the village street level as are ski hire, ski school and lift pass office. There is also direct access into the residence from the underground secure car parking (payable locally). The Arc 1950 village itself is strictly car-free.
With the addition of the high speed “Vanoise Express” lift in late 2003, the resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne are now linked to form the “Paradiski” domaine with over 450 km of pistes and many off-piste opportunities. It is possible to ski all the way to Champagny for lunch and back again before the lifts close. From Bourg Saint Maurice rail station, there is a funicular railway to Arc 1600 with a free coach connection from there to Arc 1950. Frequent flights from a variety of operators are available to Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambéry with car hire, bus, rail or taxi connections from the airports.
As for summer in Les Arcs; there are many activities on offer in the area, including mountain biking, white water rafting and hydrospeed (from Bourg St Maurice), golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, archery, glacier skiing, guided trekking, rock climbing and canoeing. We fell in love with our apartment as soon as we stepped in the doors. Being situated at the corner of the building, it benefits from a balcony that wraps around both sides of the apartment. Sadly, at the moment due to safety concerns, the balcony is shut but has plenty of light and stunning views over the piste as well as views of Mont Blanc. Les Arcs 1950 is a ski-in ski-out car-free resort, making it perfect for families - You do literally ski to and from your front door. We all enjoy the apres-ski as much as the skiing - with many restaurants and shops as well as the recently renovated steam room, sauna and hot tub in the building - the swimming pool and nearby bowling.

The apartment gives you generous amounts of living space.
The kitchen and living area are combined. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a sink, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge, oven and microwave. There is a kitchen island which serves as a table and seats 6.
The living area has a sofa (which is a sofa bed ) and two chairs with a TV. There is a dvd player and dvds which you are free to use as well as lots of family board games.
The hall has plenty of storage space for coats and boots.
The apartment can sleep up to 6 people. The main bedroom, with double bed and fitted cupboards, has an ensuite which has a bath and shower over it. There is a safe in the cupboard for your valuables. The second bedroom has two twin beds (which can be pushed together) and fitted cupboards. This bathroom has a shower.
The living area has a double sofa bed which is so comfortable our children fight over who gets to sleep in it!
You will find washing machines and tumble dryers along the corridor from the apartment.
