- "Excellent" - "The property was all it was advertised to be. We were all very pleased with the facilities. We do wish the property had a clothes dryer. There was a washing machine, but no dryer. We certainly wish we had stayed longer as the Cotswolds are so remarkable and the property met our needs. The garden right outside our room was so beautiful. There are additional gardens that are part of the property, but unfortunately we were not allowed to visit that part of the property. The owners have over an acre of flowers and well manicured lawns. The location is excellent as the downtown restaurant are is a short three minute walk. This is a great place for touring the Cotswolds."

The village is less than 3 miles from beautiful Broadway, often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds', packed with independent traders, tea rooms, pubs, shops, art galleries and restaurants.

The local friendly pub, the Snowshill Arms, is in stumbling distance and is a perfect ending to a day out sightseeing in this beautiful part of the world. Or walker’s can set off from the front door and enjoy the ramble across to Stanton, where you can enjoy a well earned pub lunch and enjoy the amazing views at The Mount pub (booking essential).

A short walk from the property takes you to the National Trust's Snowshill Manor House and Gardens and tea room. Just up the road is the Cotswold Lavender Farm along with a delightful tearoom and shop selling the range of the farm's lavender products. The lavender flowers from June, and for several weeks the rows of plants make a spectacular sight.

The kitchen is really well equipped, dishwasher tablets, foil and cling film all provided, it’s a lovely space to cook in. The views from the cottage are amazing, even in winter, golden dawns and orange sunsets and pure peace. I can’t tell you how peaceful the cottage is. And a pub in walking distance! Come here if you want to relax, it’s a world away from our usual hectic lives. Oh and it’s immaculately clean, I only wish I knew how to shine a tap like the caretaker of this lovely house!"

Old Malt House is located in the heart of Willersey, just two miles from the centre of Broadway and conveniently located behind the village pub. The renovations were completed early 2023 and it is fitted out with all the modern conveniences you would expect from a luxury family home plus some fantastic extras such as a hot tub, sauna and boules / pétanque court. Due to the pattern of our rentals we can often allow earlier arrival and later departures, enabling more time to enjoy our beautiful house. Please enquire when booking and these are decided on an individual basis.

On the ground floor there is the kitchen with a large central island and seating on stools for 5 people. The kitchen spills out onto a patio with a bistro table seating 6. The kitchen has everything you would expect including two ovens, a microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, large French Fridge freezer with filtered water and ice. There are Sonos speakers too and a Sonos Roam for use outside (at a sensible sound level of course).

Next to the kitchen there is a large sitting room with two large sofas, a log burner and a 55" smart TV and Sonos surround sound system.

The dining room is panelled and has a dual aspect out onto the street. There is also an open fire. The dining table comfortably seats 10 and also has its own separate Sonos speaker.

Adjacent to the dining room is a study with an iMac for guest use and wireless printer as well as a casual chair for reading. The cocktail cabinet is within this room and will have various spirits for your use. There is a utility room housing a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Also downstairs is the main guest bedroom (after the master). This is a king size bedroom with its own ensuite with walk in wet-room shower, sink and loo. There is also a wall mounted 42" TV and ample storage space. This room has direct access to outside.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a super king bed and its own en-suite with bath and walk in wet-room shower as well as a double sink. The bedroom itself has a 42" TV and beautiful views down the garden and down the road.

The third guest room has a beautifully upholstered king size bed and shares a bathroom with bedroom 5. The bathroom has a walk in shower, sink and loo. Bedroom 5, on the other side of the Jack and Jill bathroom has a double bed with a wall mounted 42" TV. Finally the last bedroom has a brass king size bed and an en-suite with large shower, loo and sink.

The garden is where the fun is. There is a 5 person hot tub and a sauna as well surrounded by a gently trickling water feature. The sauna is a high speed warm up and is ready to use in just 20 minutes. There is a dartboard on the rear of the garage doors. On the lower patio there are two sun beds should you be fortunate with the weather.

As you head to the upper garden area there is a large outdoor seating area with a tilt roof which creates a completely waterproof seating area or partially shaded dining area. There are two sofas and a chair that comfortably seat 10 people. There is a large charcoal BBQ for those balmy sunny days and an electric heater overhead for when it cools down. There are two large flat lawns providing plenty of room for garden games (there is a croquet set available) and then at the bottom of the garden there is a traditional boules / pétanque court which is great fun for adults and kids alike. Throughout the garden there are beautiful borders full of cottage style flowers and feature plants.

The whole garden is very private and barely overlooked despite being in the middle of the village. The Bell next door is a handy addition providing traditional pub cooked food and there is a second pub in the village within easy walking distance called the New Inn. Broadway town centre is a 35 minute walk away by road or a much more pleasant 45-60 minute walk via The Fish Hotel or the disused railway line. There are endless walks nearby and various attractions such as Hidcote Manor, Snowshill, The Lavender Fields, Broadway Tower, Chipping Campden etc. Moreton in Marsh and Stow on The Wold are both 20 minutes drive.

What sets our house apart is that the majority of the time it is actually our home. Therefore when you stay here a lot of the basic requirements of a holiday rental will be provided by us; items such as toilet/kitchen roll, wash powder, cleaning items, log-ins to TV streaming services, basic cooking items such as oils, herbs, pasta etc. We also have a large drinks fridge which will be fully stocked and provided on an honesty basis at reasonable prices.

- "Excellent accommodation in great location. The cottage was very well appointed and beautifully decorated. Loved the colour of the living room walls and would be interested if anyone knows the colour. The living room was very comfortable with very nice furniture and fittings. The dining table was also very useful.The kitchen was very well appointed with every utensil needed and a dishwasher. The owners kindly left us a jar of instant coffee and a cake. There was also a coffee machine with pods. Upstairs the bedrooms had on suite bathrooms. Again ,like downstairs, the bedrooms were very well appointed and decorated. There was plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. The showers were very good. There was a nice long grassed garden at the rear with the church at the end of the garden. There were nice chairs and cushions on the patio and we thoroughly enjoyed chilling out with a coffee in the sunshine after a days sight seeing. The location was perfect for touring the Cotswolds. It was a 30 second walk to Broadway where there were plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes. Broadway is a lovely village and worth spending time exploring. There was parking round the corner in a garage and also on land nearby for a second car. I would highly recommend this accommodation and location. We hope to go back next year"

- "Very clean and had loads provided in the kitchen and games etc for the family. Great communication with the owner on everything you wanted to know . Two local pubs to have meals or drinks in. Very quiet too. Close to things to do for days out. Was perfect." - "I booked Rex Cottage as a weekend away for my mother’s 70th, with four of us plus a baby. We couldn’t have been more happy with the house. It’s pretty, well located and much more spacious than it appears in the photos! It’s very well equipped with everything you could need and the courtyard is a gorgeous little sun trap. We loved it and would happily stay again in future. The village itself is pretty and quiet but very close to the even prettier and livelier Broadway. It was easy with a car to get to wherever we wanted to go in the Cotswolds. One small thing that would have improved things for me: the house is old and therefore has some low ceilings. This was very well communicated and the doorways were all well signposted. However, in the back bathrooms the lampshades seem designed to compound the problem - hanging low and further reducing space, meaning I hit my head badly a couple of times as a tallish chap. Replacing these with down lights or at least less viciously shaped features would be a tiny improvement that would make the place 100% perfect :)"

The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Although we did not cook while there, the kitchen had everything you could need should you choose to. The cottage was located in a very quiet little village with a great pub up on the hill. We enjoyed just walking the quaint streets and grabbing a meal there on our first night. Parking wasn’t the most convenient as the only spots to park were down the main street and not by the cottage but the walk back to the cottage was very quick and not enough of a reason not to book here. We wholeheartedly recommend this place for your trip to the Cotswolds! You will not regret it!"
