Guest Reviews:

- "Everything was prepared so thoughtfully and laid out for practical everyday use. Tasteful Christmas tree and decorations too. The whole family loved this cottage from the moment we arrived, And stepping out on the public footpath, such a lovely view across the river towards the village!" - "We all loved Hope Cottage. It is located in a small quiet village, with a nice pub nearby (The New Inn) just over one mile away. The interior is beautifully decorated and has quality fittings and furnishing. It was larger than we expected inside, and we were very happy with the layout. All of kitchen equipment (cups, glasses, pans, etc. ) was of high quality, and everything was provided that you would want. The whole place was spotless and impeccable. Wifi was great although be aware that normal mobile telephone reception is poor in the village; set you mobile to wifi calling if you can. Happy to come back again in the future if we need to stay in this area. There are some nice walks/footpaths to follow locally. And we managed to park 4x cars in the driveway !"

Guest Reviews:

- "All went well. The private patio was a real lovely addition. We also appreciate the ability to stay in and cook a few meals." - "The cottage was really easy to find, beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed. Having onsite parking is also a great bonus as the village gets extremely busy with foreign tour groups. I was concerned about other comments I have read about the 'creaky' bed but I needn't have worried as it didn't bother us at all and certainly didn't impact our sleep. The blind and the door to the bedroom were great at blocking out the light so we could get a really good nights sleep and not get woken by the early morning sunshine. The patio outside was a lovely suntrap where we enjoyed the mini bottle of prosecco and white wine which were kindly provided by the owner. They had also recently invested in some very nice new towels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend the Sycamore for anyone looking to visit the area."

Guest Reviews:

- "Fabulous " - "I recently stayed at this charming house for a weekend, and it was an absolutely lovely experience for our family of four. The house is wonderfully situated, making it easy to explore the local area. Once you park your car, you can walk across the street to a cozy pub. There’s a coffee shop just two minutes down the road, an ice cream stand, a trout café, and other amenities nearby. A restaurant at the hotel and a kids' park are also within walking distance. The house itself is very clean and provides a relaxing atmosphere. While there’s no mobile signal in the area, the Wi-Fi signal is excellent both in the house and at the pub, so we remained well-connected. The hot tub was a delightful addition, perfect for unwinding. We enjoyed watching the bees and birds visiting the bee house and bird feeders while relaxing outside. If you have children, be aware that the steps inside the house are made of stone, which was a bit nerve-wracking at first. However, our kids quickly adapted and enjoyed exploring the house. The electric keyboard, guitar, and violin were fantastic additions for our musical family. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway. Highly recommended for families looking for a peaceful and enjoyable retreat."

It was the perfect location for other destination towns around the Cotswolds and the cottage itself had everything we needed! The bedrooms were the perfect amount of space for the 5 of us, and our dog absolutely loved lying by the fire on a cold evening. We made a full Christmas dinner in the gorgeous farm-style kitchen with no hassle at all - fully stocked and had everything at our disposal. We cannot wait to visit again - we loved it!"

Private rear garden with bbq, patio, seating area, fire pit, tree house & HOT TUB! This is our family home & a work in progress! Our house is located away from the tourist area on a quiet street at the top of the village near bibury football club and the Cotswolds cafe! It is our family home - not a show home! - and we rent it occasionally when we are away. You will be close to everything as we are just a 5min walk to the beautiful centre of bibury village and the world recognised ANOB, our village church, the world famous Arlington Row, the river Coln which runs through the village all the way to Coln St Aldwyns, a lovely walk in spring and summer), the trout farm and Bibury’s water meadow (opposite the river and Arlington Row). The swan (hotel/bar/restaurant), twig (village shop) Catherine wheel (pub) and ice cream parlour are all less than a 10 minutes walk too! Upfront: this is our family home, not a show home, our kitchen is built from breeze blocks and scaffold boards that we sanded and varnished by hand ourselves!… the walls are a little uneven BUT all our bathrooms, heating electrics and plumbing are all brand new and all spaces other than the kitchen and hallway have been renovated in the past 2 years. XxxPlease check the photos as the house is as you see it on these images!xxxx The benefit: you get a lot of space and a great location for your money with lots of extras (did we mention the hot tub!?!)… and you can park easily with 2 parking spaces in the drive. Our house compromises a large lounge, separate kitchen with dining space, office/bed room, plus a bathroom and separate WC on the ground floor. Upstairs we have two good sized bedrooms with kingsize beds, plus a small child’s room with a bunk bed and the family bathroom with shower and bath. There is an extra double sofa bed in the ground floor office and in the second bedroom if needed. Outside there is a large private front and back garden with secure bike storage and a ninja gym, bbq, fire pit with stone seating, 2 story tree house plus outdoor seating and dining. We also have a hot tub which we provide free to guests but ask that they bring their own towels or pay an additional fee for the extra laundry that the hot tub creates! We have a tortoise called mikey who lives in the front garden - if guests are happy to feed him that is great otherwise we ask our lovely neighbours to help out! The rear garden backs on to a well established wood and the sound of birds in the morning and evening with the dappled sunlight setting through the trees can make the experience of sitting and eating a family breakfast or enjoying a cold glass of wine of an evening with family and friends a true joy! All areas other than attic and shed All remote access although we are always available If you need us! Bibury is a small but vibrant village in the centre of the Cotswolds, it is a world-famous AONB ( Area of outstanding national beauty) and it’s character is protected by conservation laws with Beautiful Arlington Row and it’s watermeadows at its centre. Arlington Row and Bibury itself were used in the filming of the films Stardust and Bridget Jones‘s diary. Arlington Row was also on the cover of the British passport for many years (not anymore though!). Watermeadows are classified as a site of significant scientific interest Openhearted wildlife that can be seen in the Meadows and the surrounding river cone which taper through the village. The beautiful church and school in Bibury’s centre which You can walk around on a wet or warm day through the traditional rose covered Cotswold stone houses of the village; our Church is often open for tourists (and locals!) to look round and the roses in the church garden are tended to almost daily and are outstanding in summer to see. There is a lovely coffee shop with some great fresh cakes for sale daily (the twig) , 2 pubs (the Catherine wheel and The Swan) plus the trout farm shop in the village. The trout farm is also a tourist attraction where you can catch your own trout for dinner (or just buy one at the farm shop counter!). Access to the surrounding Cotswolds is easy by car with Bourton on the water, the Guitings and the Ampneys less than 20 minutes away. Oxford is only a 40 minute drive. And the local town of Cirencester (the second Roman town the UK) has a fantastic amphitheatre that you can walk around as well and some great markets. It’s easy to also amble through the Cotswolds from Bibury and from our doorstep just pop your walking boots on grab a map and get going! With plenty of pubs all of which are great quality to pause and have a break up along the way. Cars are recommended due to the lack of public transport in Bibury. Taxis are available but need to be Pre booked! Our house is being refurbished and extended so as, detailed it is not perfect, this is reflected in the price and all areas are safe and free to use (excluding the attic and the shed.
