Otherwise incredibly charming stay, very friendly staff, and delicious restaurant. " - "Slept great, clean rooms, wonderful restaurant and pleasant service overall! Close to everything in town." - "The hotel was lovely. The car park out the back was great. Restaurant brilliant, An enjoyable night. Minor negative was the time it took to check in. 20 minutes. Not sure if the lady was learning, but it took longer than other check-ins on our recent travels. Other than that issue. Totally recommend."

The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. The breakfasts were great and the location in the Cotswalds was perfect for us. My friend and I would definitely recommend the Kings Arms to anyone visiting the area!" - "This was a perfect base for our Cotswolds weekend away. The old inn is full of character. Yes, that means lots of narrow stairs and uneven floors but it’s quirky and charming. In our room at the top of the building we had gorgeous wooden beams and window seats overlooking the town square. Small bathroom. Free WiFi and a smart TV so we could log into our own streaming accounts. There’s parking at the back which is a bit tight but very convenient. We booked dinner for our first night and had a decent pie and vegetarian pasta. The staff were friendly and cheerful. Breakfast was included -and a great start to the day - with coffee/tea, juice, cereal, toast, fruit and a range of cooked breakfast options. Stow is a lovely town with lots going on, including a number of pubs, coffee shops, gift shops and historical sights. Would definitely recommend."

" - "The Hive is a unique luxury 2 bed apartment. Spacious and comfortable, fully equipped kitchen including espresso maker right in the center of Stow-on-the-Wold. When I say luxury it is high end in every detail from the bedding to the showers and bath. I loved that the four of us could hang out in the living room as our own private space rather than a hotel lobby. The owners were charming and own the restaurant downstairs. Teagles Cottage, located in the heart of picturesque Stow-on-the-Wold, has been beautifully renovated to create the perfect retreat for romantic breaks, walking holidays or group get-togethers. Constructed from traditional honey-coloured Cotswold stone dating back around 150 years, we believe the cottage originally started life as a barn. The owners have injected new life and incorporated contemporary features, including a large log burner, eye-catching oak, and nickel stair banisters, and cleverly designed under-eave bedroom wardrobes.
Step through the front door into the bright and airy hallway - a great place to hang coats, take off walking boots and relax after a day exploring the Cotswolds in this wonderfully welcoming, luxury holiday rental.
So much thought has been put into Teagles Cottage with nothing forgotten, making it a delightful Cotswold holiday home-from-home. From the thoughtful toiletries and chest of family games to the fully equipped kitchen and fantastic log burner it's not surprising that guests return year after year.

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
- "The Gisleburtus House had many excellent qualities, but there were a couple of areas that could be improved. First, there was an issue with supplies, specifically toilet paper. We ran out in both full bathrooms and had to take some from the half bathroom. It would be great to have extra supplies in the supply closet or in each bathroom. Secondly, the fireplace was a major disappointment. The bioethanol fuel required to operate it was completely empty. We asked if we could get more, but it couldn't be supplied. One of the main reasons we rented the Gisleburtus House was to enjoy the fireplace, especially during Christmas. In the end, we managed to find an alternative fuel, but the salesman at the store mentioned that he often sells it to guests of the Gisleburtus House, which suggested it was a common issue. Unfortunately, the product we purchased didn’t work as well as we had hoped."

Quite honestly, the photos do not do it justice. It was even more adorable than we thought it would be. They have decorated it so lovely. We were amazed at how they thought of absolutely everything and designed it in a way to make it feel quite spacious, even with 4 adults staying there. The location is awesome. The back gate leads you right to the main street of the little town. It was perfect. Should we ever end up taking another trip to the Cotwolds, we would definitely stay here again."

- "The Old School House is a beautiful property really close to the centre of Stow. The property is decorated lovely, the kitchen is very modern and the bathroom is great. There is lots of space for two, a comfortable bed, and lovely amenities. The owner is really helpful and welcoming - thank you for the treats too! Had a wonderful, relaxing time exploring a beautiful part of the country. Will be returning!" - "This is the second year that we have booked a property through StayCotswold and, the same as last year, I cannot praise it highly enough. Accommodation was absolutely spotless, very well furnished and equipped. Tony (the property manager) contacted me in advance with the instruction to contact him if anything was amiss (nothing was). He knew that it was my birthday over the weekend and he left a birthday card, a cake (with candles), a box of biscuits, a bottle of wine and four bottles of beer as well as a carton of milk. This was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Stow on the Wold is a great location from which to explore the Cotswolds, already had a look for where to stay next year but to be honest would be more than happy to return to "The Old School House"."

Town: The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
