The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Such a good size and so clean! Can’t wait to come back " - "What a wonderful, peaceful, and safe stay my husband, daughter, and I had. There was much to do in town and the restaurants were wonderful and accommodating. I only wished we could have stayed longer!!"

- "Very charming place, very well appointed. Beds are super comfortable and you really can't beat the location!" - "We were so pleased with our stay at the Cotswold Stowaway! Quite honestly, the photos do not do it justice. It was even more adorable than we thought it would be. They have decorated it so lovely. We were amazed at how they thought of absolutely everything and designed it in a way to make it feel quite spacious, even with 4 adults staying there. The location is awesome. The back gate leads you right to the main street of the little town. It was perfect. Should we ever end up taking another trip to the Cotwolds, we would definitely stay here again."

There is lots of space for two, a comfortable bed, and lovely amenities. The owner is really helpful and welcoming - thank you for the treats too! Accommodation was absolutely spotless, very well furnished and equipped. Tony (the property manager) contacted me in advance with the instruction to contact him if anything was amiss (nothing was). He knew that it was my birthday over the weekend and he left a birthday card, a cake (with candles), a box of biscuits, a bottle of wine and four bottles of beer as well as a carton of milk. This was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Stow on the Wold is a great location from which to explore the Cotswolds, already had a look for where to stay next year but to be honest would be more than happy to return to "The Old School House"."

- "My daughter and I stayed here for a birthday treat and it is a fabulous property, right in the centre of Stow. Everything you could possibly want is on your doorstep and also close to other villages and attractions. Very spacious and comfortable property, and it also felt very secure being in the enclosed courtyard overnight. Great communication from StayCotswold. We will definitely book again!" - "A great place to stay for a family with two young children. Plenty of space inside and perfectly located within Stow. Clean, tidy and in good condition."

- "This was my fourth time staying at The Trinity and it was as clean and comfy as before. The location is great and it’s so much nicer than staying in a hotel - so much space! Will no doubt be back!" - "...at least I hope so. =) Can't wait to come again and this was the perfect spot. Comfortable, clean, and perfectly located near anything we needed. (Shout out to my new best friends at Stow Town Coffee. Right outside our door and literally looked forward to it each morning). Everything was smooth from booking to checkout. We had one question come up, and the property manager was at our door in minutes. The only note is that there is no AC. So, it did get a little warm at times. But, the fans in both levels helped. Can't wait to come again."

Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
- "The property was quite lovely." - "While this rental is definitely cute, the owner cares more about that than her guests. She ha left notes around the house admonishing you about keeping her house “clean and cream,” don’t pull on railings of steep stairs, fold the coverlet neatly, etc. There is no King bed, beds don’t fit the room, one bedroom has a slanting floor so your at a vertigo inducing angle, WI-FI doesn’t work on bedroom floor, and the supposed “free roadside parking” is either for 2 hours at a time or a half mile+ walk away. Not what my 80 year old mother and I bargained for. Only stayed one night of the 5 we paid for (and no cancellations allowed either!). This is definitely not a renter friendly rental."

- "The apt is roomy and well located but be aware that the property is located on a busy road where cars and large trucks are lined up for a stop light, sitting right in front of the apt. If you sit on the couch or are in the kitchen, you are looking at drivers. There are sheers and curtains so we had the sheers pulled our entire visit. Since the front window and door are the main source of light, it would be nice to have blinds so you could draw them to still get light but block out the stopped traffic. We also heard lots of noise from the traffic including warning messages on their vehicles. Also, the couch covers needed cleaning as their were paw prints on it as well as other dirt. We used a throw to cover the couch to sit down."

Our spacious, comfortable, historic home is full character, boasting many quirky features.
Nestled between the ancient square and the impressive "wool" Church.
You will be central to all that this wonderful market town has to offer;
an ideal base for your Cotswold explorations.
The property is accessed from a small flight of steps. The first floor has a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a dining room, and a small office/study.
Upstairs is a shower room with basin and toilet, and two bedrooms, the master has a king-size bed. The rear room can be arranged as 3 singles or a double and a single.
There is a small roof terrace accessed via the rear bedroom.
There is free parking in the town square for two hours. And long term free parking is located a short walk away located next to Tesco supermarket
Please note that due to the age of the property, it has a few quirks! To enter the shower room, there is a large step up, and the ceiling is quite low. If you are over 6 ft, you may need to use the shower seat provided.
The stairs are quite steep. Therefore, we do not recommend for people with mobility issues or small children.
As the church is behind the property, the clock bells can be heard in some rooms.

A new kitchen was fitted in January to include a washing machine and tumble drier, a new floor was also fitted at the same time we have not been able to add the new images yet. Only two minutes walk from the main Square in Stow on the Wold, where there is an excellent selection of antique shops, boutiques, art galleries and quaint tea rooms, not forgetting the fabulous choice of pubs and restaurants. The owners have restored the property beautifully and created a delightful retreat full of modern conveniences and comfort; careful thought has been given to ensuring that your stay is a very relaxing one. Of particular appeal are the large, peaceful bedrooms, some of which overlook the bustle of the town, but all of which have ensuite bathrooms. We felt it to be a super 'home from home' and if you fancy taking a break from self catering, then you have got an abundance of choice, all moments from your front door! A really relaxing, standout holiday property ideal for a family or small group of friends looking to enjoy Stow on the Wold.
Stow has a fascinating history, with the market square once host to some of the Cotswolds’ largest sheep fairs, with up to 20,000 sheep herded into the square for sale. The medieval Market Cross and the old stocks give a sense of Stow’s early history.
