- "I stayed at No.131 for one night and wish I could have extended my visit. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary upgrade to what I believe was their superior suite. The luxury was evident throughout, with a wall-mounted Bang & Olufsen TV and exceptionally plush, heavy-duty towels in the bathroom. The room featured an Emperor mattress—arguably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Although the large roll-top bath was very inviting, the comfort of the bed meant that I only had time for a shower. However, the large rain shower head and excellent water pressure ensured the shower was equally enjoyable. I must also commend the Wi-Fi for its speedy and reliable connection. We stayed in Kate on the first floor of the main house which was a wonderfully spacious and comfortable room complete with fireplace and four poster bed. All the staff were very helpful from Anton who manhandled our bags up the stairs to our suite, Paula who checked us in with great efficiency and Sue who makes the most deliciously sour cosmopolitan. We will definitely return!"

- "Wonderful inn in every way. Great restaurant too!" - "A lovely 1 night stay at The Lion. Just me and my dog - they are very welcoming to dogs. Room was clean and warm with good quality toiletries and tea/coffee. Bed was very comfortable. I had dinner in the evening which was excellent. The dining area had a friendly, lively atmosphre and the pub in general is a perfect old-style place with good beers on tap but also a gastro-pub style menu and wine list. Breakfast in the morning was also just as you would want it - I had the full English which set me up very well for the day. Took a walk up to Belas Knap Long Barrow and then Cleeve Hill - both highly recommended if you want to tire your dog out and get some magnificent views yourself! I only saw the town/village when everything was closed but it looked like it would be well worth a stroll round - I would have liked to stay to browse the second hand bookshop (I tihnk it's called Books & Ink) but sadly did not have time. Really good stay - I hope to return."

We managed to park close by and the check-in process was very speedy. Unfortunately, though, I hadn't taken into consideration that, being a town house, there would be a lot of stairs with an open balustrade which was an issue for my partner who suffers from a form of vertigo but, after explaining the situation to Rachel, Sian dealt with it quickly by putting us in a room on a lower floor.
