Remodeled within the last year, the cabin has the newest kitchen appliances, pellet stove fireplace, flooring, furniture, beds, and Smart tvs (no cable service but Netflix is available on all tvs). Kitchen is stocked full of pots, pans, bakeware, dinnerware, utensils, lots of small appliances, spices, oils, flour, sugar, coffee, refrigerator full of condiments---just about everything you need to make great meals during your stay. Linens and towels are provided. Washer, dryer and detergent provided. This truly is a perfect "homebase" for all of the day trips throughout the area. Only 45 minutes to great National Parks. Enjoy quiet mornings and evenings on the front open air deck or covered back deck. BBQ grill and fire pit also available. Head out for ATV trails, fishing, hiking, biking and the like. Plenty of parking for ATV trailer.

- "Beautiful cabin very comfortable" - "This cabin was beyond perfect for my family of 4. The whole house was well stocked!!! I didn’t realize both bedrooms were upstairs and the steps were small and tricky…. Not a problem at all! The host very responsive!!! I can completely understand why Amazon takes forever to deliver out there! (There is a sign on the road recommending 4x4 and I understand why). It is in the middle of no where but we loved it!!! It took us about an hour to get to Bryce and Zion both! But we were able to come in from a long day and cook some supper and relax!!! Washer/dryer luckily was full size even though this was my first experience with a front load machine!!! The coffee pot in the kitchen was extremely slow but eventually made my coffee!!! I did notice several spider webs in the downstairs bathroom but they were tiny spiders and the cabin is in the woods!!! So what do you expect!!! The dishwasher in the kitchen was broken so we had to wash all our dishes by hand…. That was a pain…. But she apologized about this and said a new one was coming next week! My only two issues were no light in the laundry room (it was obvious they were in the process of putting up a ceiling fan just hadn’t finished it yet). And also when I stripped the beds after my stay both of the queen beds had bad stains on the mattress pad. I messaged the hostess about it and she apologized again! Said they would definitely be changed. I did pull them off both beds!!! Overall it was a wonderful stay!!"

This is "Rustic meets contemporary" with upgraded appliances, a fireplace, outdoor fit pit, decks (front and bedrooms) with comfortable patio furniture and a BBQ. Personal amenities available if you forgot yours, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioners, soaps. We take Covid-19 and overall sanitation of our cabin VERY seriously. Our cleaning staff are educated on CDC guidelines for proper cleaning before and after each guest visit.

You will be surrounded by woods and nature. A cooler environment at 9k ft elevation. A variety of pine trees and wildlife. Deer, Pronghorn, Sheep, Fox, Rabbits, Wild Turkey, Eagles, Hawks, and other amazing wildlife friends. There is a quaint village "Duck Creek Village" up the road for general groceries and necessities. Panquitch, Parawan, Orderville, Hatch, and a few other small towns are not too far with shopping, art & crafts/antiques, restaurants, markets and local artists. Of course down the mountain is Cedar City with MAIN STREET and all its restaurants, artisan shops, french bakeries, and more.
PET POLICY: Please contact owner before booking pets. There is a $25 per pet fee. There is a maximum 2 dogs under 30 pounds each. Large dogs are not permitted. Pets must be trained. Please do not allow dogs on furniture or beds. All pets must have crates and must be crated when guests are not in the home. Pets are not permitted to roam freely in the home when guests are not with them. Pet waste outside must be picked up and put in trash outside on deck. Trash is to be taken at the end of the stay and put in community dumpsters located before getting on main road as you are heading out. We appreciate your understanding of this policy. This policy ensures the safety of our cleaning folks and future guests who could have severe allergies. There is a detailed cleaning performed if a pet is permitted in the home, hence the added $25 fee and notification to the cleaning company to send a cleaning person who does not have pet allergies. This is a safety protocol and we appreciate your understanding.
There is no public transportation. There is a mountain fire and emergency department available. There is also a list of emergency numbers in your "welcome" packet.
IMPORTANT NOTE: please watch winter months weather. At 9k feet, we can get a LOT of snow, which if skiing or snow mobiling is your thing, or just embracing a winter wonderland, you're in luck!. The cabin sits on a hill, so the driveway is a small incline so 4-wheel drive or truck is best during winter. Please come prepared during winter months, again, may require 4-wheel drive and/or all-weather tires and/or chains. Our 1300 sq ft cabin comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests, with 1 king size bed (brand new high-end DreamCloud mattress- RARE in cabins) on the first floor and 2 queen size beds on the 2nd floor. Both bedrooms have wood blinds for restful sleep after a long day of adventures.

Fully equipped kitchen includes fridge, microwave, oven, water boiler, double toaster, coffee machine and sandwich press.

The comfortable sectional and reclining chair in the living room are complemented by battery operated candles (for your safety ; ) ) to provide a warm and cozy atmosphere. TV has Roku for guests to log in to their favorite apps (Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc). The living room is equipped with an easy to operate electric pellet stove.

Upstairs you will find a large bedroom with 2 queen beds and a loft area with a reading nook (or simply to relax) and a couch and foosball table for some fun times.

Outdoor fire pit with chairs is perfect for stargazing or simply enjoying a tranquil evening with your loved ones. The hammock cords are attached to 2 trees by the fire pit and the hammock is stored inside the living room trunk. Small charcoal grill also onsite for your BBQ pleasure. (Please bring your own firewood and charcoal, etc)

LOCATION- Please note this is a standalone cabin in the woods, in the mountains- this is not a 5* resort complex with 24/7 assistance and service. Occasional power outages may occur on the mountain (especially during snow fall) and usually get taken care of by the electricity company within a few hours.

Elevation of Duck Creek is about 8500' and all the roads to the cabins are dirt or gravel. In the winter time (November through April) 4 wheel drive is required in all areas. We suggest bringing snow chains just in case.

Before traveling please ensure you check the weather forecast and AVOID TRAVELING DURING WINTER STORMS at all cost.
You can download an app which gives you live road conditions (i.e. UDot).
Main streets are plowed during the day but keep in mind if it snows you will be still driving on snow covered gravel roads and they may be slippery.
Please ensure you park your car to the left of the red shed so the snow plow company has full access in case we need to have them come and plow driveway. Snow removal on the deck, to and around your car can be booked with advance notice for additional fee.

Note that Duck Creek high in elevation— 8000+ feet— so take precautions to avoid altitude sickness if you are not accustomed to the elevation. That being said, out of my family of 4 Floridians, only my daughter had symptoms— probably from not drinking enough water. After a day of rest and a lot of Gatorade, she was fine. The owner, Julie, was great to work with and responded to all my questions practically immediately. If you visit in cold weather, take Julie’s advice to have a 4-wheel drive and snow titles seriously— you will need them! My kids loved sledding (sleds included at the cabin), and exploring nearby Mammoth Cave. Seeing the locals harvest their own Christmas trees from the snowy surrounding forest was special indeed, since we usually get ours from Costco!"
