The checkin/checkout procedure was done via texting, with the front door code being given before we arrived. The key for the room was in the unlocked room, and for checkout, the instructions were to leave the key and text that we were gone. Very easy! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

Just 8 min to Davis Mountain State Park, 20 min to McDonald Observatory & 15 min to downtown Ft. Davis. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster, knives, kettle, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and gas stove. There are three bedrooms in this home. One is a spacious master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a sitting room that has a gas fireplace. The other two bedrooms have double beds and are themed: "cowboy bedroom" and "Native American bedroom." All bedrooms contain premium bedding. Both bathrooms are full bathrooms and are quite nice. The guest bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the master bathroom contains a Greek soaking tub. If you need to combine work and play, no problem. There is an office and free Wi-Fi. Located in the heart of historic Fort Davis on a quiet side street just three blocks from State Street, Agave House was completely renovated in 2021 to a very high standard. The interior is contemporary with a Sante Fe influence, featuring vaulted beamed ceilings in the living room as well as a wood burning fireplace. Original art in the form of paintings and wall hangings is displayed throughout the house. The well-equipped kitchen is all new with dramatic concrete counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The main bedroom has a king bed, sitting area, walk in closet and a private porch. The en-suite bathroom has a luxurious shower and a claw foot tub for your enjoyment. The second bedroom has a queen bed and shares the main en-suite bath. Bedroom 3 has two twins and its own bath with shower. Grocery store just 1 block away (1 minute walking). Fort Davis also has a very good restaurant (Blue Mountain Bar & Grill). The house is a bit « old-fashioned » but has all amenities (no dishwasher). TV and Wifi working pretty well considering the location. We were 2 families (4 adults, 3 kids) and had a blast for Thanksgiving WE. Definitely recommended if you want to spend a few days in the area."

The mini-split air conditioners were excellent during the record setting heat, plus they have more of a soothing "white noise" sound than most HVAC systems. The cabin definitely had the "Ft Davis look which we like more than the "all motels look the same". We're not accustomed to the total technology reservation and check in system of VRBO as this was only our second time to use it. Comfortable beds, good air-conditioning and good shower which are the three main requirements for hot days in August!"

- "The location was great - very close to the fort and the Main Street area. The home is huge. The pictures on the listing don’t show just how large the space really is. It was great for our family of 6 - four kids ages 10-12. It was so nice having a large kitchen to prepare meals and a laundry room to keep up with the vacation fun. When we arrived there was a lock box on the AC and the inside temperature was in the mid 80s - we had to message the host to set it on her end but there seemed to be some trouble with the programmed settings and it kept resetting to a higher temperature than desired. The maintenance person came promptly in the morning to remove the box so we could access the thermostat directly. Unfortunately though, it seemed the AC was having some issues and had a hard time keeping up in the summer Texas heat. The last day of our stay cooled down a bit and we were able to open windows to improve the airflow. We enjoyed stargazing on the back porch at night and being so close to what the town has to offer."
