Our only two complaints is that the beach that is within walking distance from the house is private access and littered with no trespassing signs and there is only a small shower stall for bathing. Otherwise it is the perfect place to just get away and hide while on vacation. We hope to visit again. "

The living room is furnished with a Smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) over a cozy electric fireplace and comfortable seating. Right behind the living room is the family room with amazing blue water views.

The private balcony is equipped with a BBQ grill and patio seating. Enjoy your morning coffee out here to soak in the views. The kitchen comes prepared with a drip coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and more to make you feel right at home.

Phoenix Nest, our romantic and spectacular oceanfront vacation home, is nestled on two glorious acres of forest right on the ocean.

The 2500 square foot, newly remodeled home is bright and airy and includes a 44-foot living room with windows throughout overlooking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites also have unsurpassed, sweeping views of the ocean. The house has great privacy. You can hear the waves crash and see the osprey and gulls fly by as the low tide unveils the rocks and sandy beach. Watch gorgeous sunsets from the deck or hot tub.

From the hot tub, enjoy watching sea lions surfing or resting on the rocks on the Havens Neck peninsula. We often see gray and humpback whales and recently blue and killer whales spouting and occasionally breaching out of the ocean.

The bluff is like a garden, covered with plants and natural wildflowers. Known as the 'banana belt,' nearby rivers provide a more fog-free and temperate climate than other coastal areas.

We were greeted by deer and the gentle barking 'hellos' of the sea lions. The house is so comfortable--more space than we imagined and the light so wonderful.. The view rates in our top three--following the Grand Canyon, Positano, Italy and tied with Villa Cinciano in Tuscany. As we say farewell to the deer and sea lions, we'll promise to return and will always remember the beauty by day and the peaceful blanket of the Milky Way by night.

There are two large grocery stores in town, one organic gourmet style with a deli/bakery, fresh fish, and lots of 'to go' hot food options. There are many food choices in town including pizza, bakery, and many other restaurants, including St. Orres, a 5 star restaurant which is only a 5 minute walk from the house. Just relax. There is nothing like watching the sunset over the ocean from the deck or hot tub soaking in the Seaspray ambiance. One of our favorite things to do is sit in the oceanfront hot tub overlooking crashing waves toasting the sunset with a glass of wine.

Our house in Enchanted Meadows (that is the actual name of the area, you couldn’t make it up!) in Anchor Bay, California is the perfect place for a couple to get away for a few days. It sits on top a hill along famous Highway 1 on the coast. Because Enchanted Meadows is located in the so called banana belt, the weather is warm and sunny even if much of the coast is covered in fog.

The house has a living room and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, one bedroom with a queen bed, a large bathroom with floor heating and a huge deck around the house.

The house sits in a Redwood forest with a partial blue water ocean view. You can hear the waves and sea lions from the house. The setting is very private, calm and romantic. The deck and garden are perfect for hottubbing, relaxing, sunbathing, enjoying meals or watching the local wildlife. You will most likely meet the local bevy of quail, watch the hummingbirds dart around the garden, hear the ravens in the trees, see the chipmunks and squirrels and maybe get a glimpse of a deer.

One of the most wonderful features of the house is the light. In the morning, the whole house is flooded with warm morning light. Watching the full moon from the hot tub on the deck or through the windows inside the house travel across the night sky is spectacular. And without the moon, the sky is exploding with stars and planets, an amazing experience from the comfort of the hot tub. For city dwellers the lack of light pollution is awe-inspiring.

In the winter, the wood burning stove in the living room will keep you warm and cozy.

Though you feel like you are away from it all, you are very close to civilization. Anchor Bay is just 5 minutes down the hill and offers a small supermarket, two restaurants, and a coffee shop. This home has been in the family for over 30 years. It is truly a magical retreat. Walk into the living and dining area and you have immediate panoramic Pacific Ocean views, and this continues to the Master Bed and Bath Rooms. The Master Bedroom has a very comfortable queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress. It has an adjoining bathroom with shower and walk in closet. You will not be disappointed by the view you wake up to! The second bedroom also has partial ocean views and has 2 twin beds and a 1/2 bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with updated pots, pans, and dish-wear. It has newer gas stove, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. There is an open living-room/dining-room with a sliding glass door to the deck. 8/05/2022 Extra special treat is the "nightly show" of dozens of salmon fishing boats, anchored in the calm waters of Anchor Bay, resting during the summer evening with their mast lights gleaming, being reflected in the ocean waters of the present salmon fishing season. No where else along the Pacific coast can this spectacular event be seen! One to be long remembered.

- "This house is one of the very few that I can say the pictures/description doesn't do it justice. Amazing views of the ocean from anywhere inside the house and outside the house. The rear deck, facing the ocean, is very spacious and had very comfortable outside furniture. The house itself is located in a very quiet neighborhood, in a cul-de-sac, so no thru traffic. It was a quiet, peaceful place to just relax and enjoy nature. The house was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the 3 armchairs in the living room were comfortable and perfectly placed to just sit and get lost looking at the ocean. We had great views of pelicans hovering in the air, then diving down to catch fish. The town, the house is in, is small, but we loved it since it never got busy, not too crowded, but had everything you might need, like grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. One of the grocery stores hosts a BBQ cookout every weekend and it looked/smelled awesome. We can't wait to return to this house."

- "We absolutely loved every bit of our stay at Eagle's Landing! Serenity at it's finest! It is apparent that the owner has taken great pride to accommodate their guests. The view from the hot tub is AMAZING, not to mention all of the outdoor amenities (shuffleboard and the outdoor kitchen were our favorites!). This single-story home sits on over a third of an acre on the sunny Gualala ridge, nestled among fragrant redwoods just above town. The house is right across the road from the Redwood Coast Recreation Center Disc Golf Course, and only two miles from Gualala's charming markets, cafes, and art galleries. Anchor Bay, the Sea Ranch Golf Links, and Gualala Point Regional Park (a marvelous spot for whale watching) are all within a five-mile drive as well.

Inspired by Joseph Eichler's open, airy designs and close connection to nature, this home was thoughtfully restored in 2022 to revive its mid-century character. A rear wall of windows overlooks the gardens and grove, and sliding glass doors connect to the expansive deck, where you can sip your coffee in the mornings, barbecue in the afternoons, and listen to the sounds of the woods at night.

The interior living spaces are cozy and inviting, including a great room warmed by a woodstove, an elegant kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances, and a dining area with a smart TV mounted to one wall. If you're hoping to get a bit of writing done, a light-filled office and complimentary WiFi are provided as well. Of the two serene bedrooms, one is a primary suite with its own bathroom.

- "Great amount of time and perfect July weather." - "Rolling the dice and booking a property without any reviews is always a little nerve-wrecking...but glad we pulled the trigger on this one! We could tell this was a new listing immediately upon arrival. From the brand-new unopened olive oil, the fluffy white towels, and the sparkling clean grill to the pristine dishware and and supplies, we were smitten. A few kinks need to be ironed out (no trash cans in the bathrooms, no door mat, and alas, no strainer for spaghetti) but nothing major was wrong, and all of these items were easily dealt with. We did want to tidy up around the fireplace, but could not locate a broom and dustpan anywhere! The brand-new well appointed options for spices were super appreciated...we were able to make an apple pie from scratch (after we bought a pie plate) and spaghetti sauce without having to buy extras. And just a tip to the owners...you might want to reconsider the shower enclosure in the master bath. The glass "wall" does very little to keep water from getting all over the floor We wish the weather had cooperated more, because the deck had what looked like amazing couches to hang out on...future guests will enjoy them for sure. The beds were comfortable, and as soon as that amazing Restoration Hardware leather couch is broken in and not so slippery, it will be awesome too. The cool modern chair was everyone's fave perch! We loved our stay at Rainbow Ridge and wouldn't hesitate to return."

Heartland Studio is a former Writer's Retreat. With it’s ocean view, private entrance and parking, barbecue area, outside table and direct walkway to Zikar Park, the studio also a perfect a romantic getaway.

We encourage you to take a pleasant stroll down to the pond and explore the redwood groves beyond. You’ll find chairs and little tables are up within them, perfect for simply sitting around, enjoying the rustling of the breeze as it makes its way through the trees.

The wall décor are original pieces of history. In the bathroom are early works of Van Arsdale (circa the 1920’s) and Alberto Vargas’ work from Esquire in the mid 40’s. Over my desk, you’ll find Alex Raymond’s 1934 Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers from 1935. We hope you’ll enjoy our collection of movie posters including Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Temple and Ronald Reagan, and the westerns of John Ford. All the happy pieces around the fireplace are the work of my wife, who loves collecting these treasures from the golden era of film.

Studio is clean and comfortable (though be warned that the bed is VERY soft - a bit of a stiff back in the morning as a result). The owners communicated well, especially when natural disaster struck: first power outage and then the water pump stopped working. They were helpful as we figured out Plan B. Highly recommended for relaxing and enjoying the area, but avoid fire season!"

The house has all that you will need for your stay and the owner is available by text for any questions you might have. The weather was sunny and we spent a lot of time sitting on the back deck taking in the gorgeous views. - "For those who want a quick review: This is an older house with a great view just far enough off Hwy 1 to only hear the Ocean. Gualala shops are 3 minutes away South, and there’s a nice little beach 3 minutes North (Cook’s Beach). For those who want more details, here I go: We had a bit of complication with our reservation because the house sold between our original reservation and our vacation. This meant we had to cancel and re-reserve with the new property manager. She was very helpful and not only guided us through the process but gave us a discount for our trouble, which was really excellent customer service. When it was all sorted out and we arrived, we found the the turnoff from Hwy 1 easily, and found the address easily too. Getting out to open the gate is easy enough because the road is so quiet. There is plenty of room to park, and getting into the keys and house was easy. Inside we were greeted with a clean and cozy little house that served us well for the next five days. Here are the highlights: Cozy living room with big comfy couch and cozy gas fireplace. Gas fireplace works on a thermostat and does a great job of keeping the little house warm. This is a serene one bedroom, one bathroom cabin adjacent to the main house which sits on 13 acres - with view of a seasonal creek and redwood trees. It is newly renovated with all of the modern-day conveniences such as heated floors and dishwasher but retain country charm with woodburning fireplace, and Victorian details. The open layout, vaulted ceiling, and streamlined designs provides a bright, spacious feel. The private deck is tranquil, protected from the wind, and a perfect place to unwind.

There are wooded areas, limited trails, meadows, and many vistas that offer breath taking views of the ocean.

We ask that our guest respect our bees that reside in the two horse stalls in the red barn.

Across the creek is orchard/garden which is in its infancy. We are working hard to turn it into a food forest. Our guests are welcome to any fruits, produces, and flowers that are growing.

The shared firepit is between the cabin and the garage and has a magnificent view of the ocean.

Fresh eggs are provided for our guest curiosity of beautiful hens.
