Jujube has been a much loved vacation rental for over 20 years.

Recently remodeled, Jujube has a brand new kitchen with high end stainless appliances, an updated bathroom with a marble top double sink vanity and a glass walk in shower.

Other updates inside and out: new larger flat screen televisions in the living room and bedroom, lots of new furniture, a new high efficiency convection wall heater, soft goods (curtains, bedding, towels and more), a new river view hot tub deck with seating area and two new kayaks.

Most recently we have added a private outdoor shower.

We are dog lovers, and the property is super dog friendly. Unlike most vacation rentals, we do not charge a pet fee. We've been able to continue that policy for OVER ten years now because our guests have consistently been very responsible dog parents!

Our general rule is two pups under 50 pounds. There is some wiggle room, as long as your pups are low impact on the property.

Jujube is a stylish, light and airy one bedroom for two people only.

She is a thoughtfully remodeled and updated vintage cottage on the banks of the Russian River with river access (typically safe May to October) from the yard and down a metal staircase to the seasonal dock. River access is seasonal and never guaranteed.

It is important to note that the Russian River is not safe for swimming or kayaking from November to April. The river level fluctuates constantly depending upon rain amounts, and the currents can be extremely dangerous.

After parking in your dedicated off street parking space, you enter the property through a private garden and head down the right side of the house to the sunny riverfront deck, where you will find your outdoor seating area and wood-burning chiminea fireplace, gas grill, hot tub deck, lawn and river access with two kayaks.

There are no houses across the water from you, so it’s just the river and redwoods. Cocktails on the deck, a soak in the hot tub, swimming or kayaking in the river, or just enjoy the sun and scenery.

Entry to the house is via keyless entry code through the central pair of three French doors that open to the deck. Once inside, you will find a spacious one bedroom cottage with river views from the living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom and a garden view from the kitchen.

Read a book, watch a movie on the large flat screen television or just relax in the living room in front of the wood burning fireplace, in the leather lounge chair or in the vintage rocking chair.

The open kitchen is well-equipped for your stay, ready for morning coffee and toast on the deck or a gourmet meal for two at the river view dining table.

The sun sets over the river and redwoods you see from the comfy, cozy bedroom. There’s plenty of storage, extra blankets and pillows, and another flat screen television.

Off the bedroom is the bath, with a marble double vanity, walk in glass door shower, extra towels and a separate exit to the deck.

Back outside where most guests begin and end their days at Jujube, the river changes hour by hour and season by season, from placid mornings to sunny afternoons to starry nights, which tend to be cool year round.

There are three sundecks on which to relax and read a good book, listen to the birds, watch the wildlife on the lazy river or enjoy the hot tub with spectacular views. Wildwood Garden has something for everyone.

Wildwood Gardens is delightful and relaxing every season of the year.

In summer, enjoy Monte Rio’s 4th of July fireworks from the hot tub, or from the spacious lawn. Build a campfire in the fire pit on the lawn and enjoy the long summer nights. Wildwood Garden is secluded from other houses in the area so you can enjoy your own private oasis.

Fall still has warm days and nights and most of the tourists have gone home, but they miss one of the best times to enjoy the sunsets on the river that attract thousands of small jumping fish. Watch the birds as they migrate south.

Winter is perfect time for a cozy and romantic weekend to enjoy the fireplace, a good book and a glass of wine while watching the wildlife and river float by. Take a long soak in the Jacuzzi tub and feel like all of your worries have washed away with the river.

In spring, greenery abounds.

This water front house has a short private path to the Russian river, just a few feet from the lower deck. Depending on river conditions, in the summer there is a small beach to the right at the bottom of the path. Guests may use any of the boats and life safety vests that Wildwood Garden provides. [Boat use is prohibited in the high water winter months, usually between November and April.]. Because the river is constantly changing our bank, we do not guarantee easy beach access.

The house is rustic cabin but well appointed. Both bedrooms have queen size pillow top beds. The main bedroom opens to the deck area with a hot tub and river views. There is a small loft overlooking the living room for the kids. While our permit allows for six overnight guests, the house comfortably accomodates four people.

The living room/dining room has vaulted wood ceilings and accent lighting. There is a flat panel TV above the fireplace, with streaming services, and a large sectional sofa. WiFi is available throughout the house. From the living room and bathroom you can access the river view redwood deck that spans the riverfront side of the house and a large picnic table and comfortable chairs expand your living space to the outside. The hot tub and BBQ are also on the riverside of the deck.

The kitchen has everything you will need to feel at home. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and plenty of fresh towels. The house is equipped with an on-demand water heater so the last person in doesn’t have to worry about getting a cold shower and all of the rooms have recently upgraded heaters. For those staying extra days, a washer dryer is available.

You can spend a leisurely afternoon wine tasting at nearby Martinelli and Korbel wineries or dozens of other smaller wine boutiques. Enjoy a 9-hole game of golf at the nearby Northwood public golf course or bring your bikes to explore the breathtaking road to the river’s end at the Pacific Ocean in Jenner. Cyclists from all over the world now explore the Russian River backroads. Antique shops, restaurants and art galleries await in nearby Duncan Mills, Guernevile, Healdsburg and Sonoma. A short drive takes you to the quaint hamlet of Occidental with old family restaurants in buildings dating to when the town was a booming railroad outpost.

Please note for guests booking on a Thursday or Friday, our gardeners will usually spend about 1 hour mowing and trimming the lawn.

Arriving at Riverwood Cottage, you will find a cozy (700 sq. ft.), two-bedroom home with large grounds running right to the river. The living room is equipped with a comfy couch, a gas fireplace and a wall-mounted TV with cable. Sliding glass doors lead to an expansive, wrap-around deck with a dining table for six. The deck has numerous other seating areas and nooks for you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Russian River flora and fauna.

The kitchen is well-stocked with all the pots, pans and accessories you need to create a home-cooked meal, including service for eight. There is a friendly grocery store approximately a quarter-mile away and you can find a Safeway and health-food store in Guerneville, about 10 minutes away.

Don’t feel like cooking inside? BBQ on the Weber and dine on the lawn or the deck. There’s a prep sink and bar area on the lower level, accessible from the lawn, for your convenience. A second bathroom is on this lower level too and is accessible from the lawn only. Enjoy a cool drink while you watch the children play. The lower level shower/bathroom is ideal for rinsing off after a hot day or washing the river off the dogs!

Once you’ve snacked and basked in the sun, it’s time to wind down. Head onto the deck and soak in the hot tub while the stars come out overhead and the sound of the river rushing by lulls you in the warm water. The hot tub is tucked into the corner of the deck, surrounded by redwood trees with a view of the river. Relax the muscles you’ve used to swim, paddle, and bike through the day. Gather the family around the fire pit, tell stories, roast marshmallows, and let Riverwood Cottage help you enjoy your time together.

When it's finally time for bed, you’ll sleep well on the pillow-top mattresses. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed stocked with down comforters. The upper bathroom has a claw-foot bathtub complimented by plush towels and rugs for your comfort. Please note that the tub has high sides which may prove difficult for those with mobility challenges.

Maybe someone in your group prefers to have their recreation on terra firma. Tennis anyone? The Monte Rio Tennis and Basketball Courts are a ten minute walk away. In the same center you'll also find a skatepark for the kids. Or, drive five minutes to the Northwood Golf Club where you can golf on a gorgeous 9-hole course designed by Dr. Alister MacKenzie, of Augusta National and Cypress Point fame.

- "My wife and I stayed here for our 10 yr anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The grounds are huge and pristine, with a little path that winds down to the river. We brought stand up paddle boards and it was relatively easy to get out out on the water. The river is calm and great for kayaking, SUPs, etc (at least in late August). The house itself is very small, but well appointed and clean. You can walk to a local market, or across the bridge and explore Monte Rio. Sangeeta was a wonderful host. Highly recommend!"

If you don’t mind driving a few miles, the town of Guerneville is only 5 miles away, Occidental is about 7 miles, and the Pacific Ocean is only 10 miles from the home; All have excellent choices for dining out.

Enjoy the days lounging/boating at the Russian River (Monte Rio beach is just blocks away) and in the evening enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the redwood shaded stars. Willowhaven is a beautifully crafted redwood home on a generous lot dotted with fruit trees. An expansive wraparound deck encapsulates seven glorious redwood trees and bends around even more. With a mixture of shade and bright light, it’s the perfect setting for a romantic getaway or to simply recharge your batteries. In fair weather, BBQ, dine outside, slumber in the hammock, or stargaze. When it rains, luxuriate in the hot tub or listen to the storm from the cozy interior. High ceilings and abundant windows make all type of weather lovely at Willowhaven. A redwood “cathedral” surrounds the hot tub and up-lights show off the beauty of our trees.

Inside, the master bedroom features a King-size bed with adjusting frame. Lift or lower the back or foot sections of the bed separately and settle in to watch TV or snuggle while the wood burning stove warms the room. Both full bathrooms are substantial – making this a great home to visit as a couple, with friends, or a small family. The fully stocked kitchen and many places to dine, inside and out, ensure you have room to prepare gourmet meals with local produce and wines.

You’re minutes from the coast, Armstrong Woods State Park, Northwood Golf Course, and the Russian River. Quaint shops, casual and fine dining, and world (and locally) famous wineries are within a short drive.

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Willowhaven is 4 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: Master bedroom: King adjustable frame bed; Living room sleeper sofa: Queen bed.

Security Cameras: For the safety of guests and the home, there are exterior security cameras for the front entry area only.

Heat Source: Central Heating. Master suite (upstairs): wood burning stove. (Firewood and kindling not provided, but you may use any left by prior guests.) Downstairs: Gas stove.

Location: Willowhaven is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park in the driveway and along the front fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are 2 steps from the driveway to the deck and one story of stairs inside the house from the main level to the bedroom upstairs. The basement and backyard are accessible via 1 flight of exterior stairs front the deck.

Pet Friendly: Willowhaven welcomes up to 2 well-behaved dogs.

Fencing: The back yard is fenced, but we always recommend checking the fence line before letting your dog off-leash. The deck and parking area are not fenced.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have air conditioning, but the redwood trees usually keep the house cool in the summer!

Bathtub: Take a soak in the bathtub! The jets are currently out of service, but the tub is still very relaxing.

Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville (5.2 mi) and a wine bar in Duncan’s Mills (4.9 mi), and oodles more tasting rooms at vineyards within 10 to 15 miles. We recommend visiting Westside Road to start.

Nearest River Beach: The Monte Rio Public Beach has seasonal boat rentals and concessions (1 mi) and a neighborhood beach within walking distance.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches in Jenner are approx. 10 miles from Willowhaven.

- "This house was perfect for my son and me. The location was perfect in almost every way- walking distance to a nice beach on the river and walking distance (for us) to everything else in Monte Rio. I walked our dog several miles everyday through the neighborhood and out along the river and Dutch creek. This is a great house if you are traveling with a dog. The fenced yard is huge. The deck is not gated, but our dog is not a wanderer so that wasn’t an issue for us. The only drawbacks were looking out at the neighboring houses which are in need of some TLC and the neighbors across the street who had ongoing arguments. But the beautiful redwoods and house more than made up for those annoyances. We would definitely stay here again."

- "We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and had a wonderful time staying here. I don't think the pictures really do it justice. We spent most of our time outside on the large deck in the lounges watchiing bats, satellites, the space station and numerous perseid meteors. And of course the Redwoods! The inside is very nicely decorated, comfy/cozy! Some previous comments mention the stairs....I think they must have been fixed as I didn't find them rickety at all. And prior comments about ice.....there is now a separate freezer with ice which we really appreciated. We golfed 2 days at the beautiful Northwoods golf course. The restaurant there is quite good too. NOTE - It seems many many places are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday. Eating is rather hard to find. We Will stay here again, maybe sooner than we thought when we first rented. But we would so it Wednesday and on. It was very nice!"

Enjoy a glass of wine as you wind down the river at Wine Down. This 1924 cottage with old world charm, wood floors, custom cedar counter and walls of windows, invites relaxation and creativity! Both the kitchen and living area overlook the ever-changing Russian River. Morning brings sunlight and in the evening a gas fireplace adds warmth and a cozy glow.

The kitchen is open to the dining and living areas so friends and family can gather to laugh and chat while cooking. Dine inside or out as weather permits. A new hot tub joins the outdoor dining area on the main deck overlooking the river.

Amble down one level to the outdoor shower and laundry room. There's a staircase from the lowest level of the fern and thimbleberry-filled yard to the river in the summer months. Depending on the season, you'll have a shallow and gentle stretch of river and a long, wild, sandy (seasonal) island or playful and frisky Russian River for paddling and swimming. Merganser and Mallard ducklings bob and scoot about, swallows circle and a reclusive green heron darts past in this paradise for birds.

A half mile down the road is Monte Rio which features beaches and (seasonal) kayak rentals. Duncan's Mills is three miles west with shops, restaurants and a post office. Jenner by the sea waits ten miles away at the Pacific Ocean.

Ananda is a magical little cottage nestled in the hills above the Russian River. The name Ananda means bliss, and that's what you'll find at this private, serene hideaway. With a spacious living room, large sunny deck, and beautiful gazebo with a hot tub, you'll feel worlds away from the stress of day-to-day life. Yet Ananda has internet access in case you need to plug in, and you're only a few minutes from the river, ocean, quaint towns, and many, many wineries!

The spacious living room is furnished with a pleasing mix of comfortable, contemporary furniture and lovely antiques, for a rustic, homey feel that will have you totally relaxed. There's also a fabulous stone fireplace for those cozy evenings.

The deck at the front of the house opens out to a large sunny deck at the back. In front, you'll find a large Japanese maple that adds to the beauty and tranquility of the house. It's centrally located in Monte Rio - walking distance to public beaches, boat rentals, restaurants, small market, skate park, and playground - and overlooking the Russian River. And the views!!! You'll relish the play of light on the river and redwood covered mountains across the valley as well as the steady stream of wildlife living in and around the river: otters, herons, ducks, swallows, turtles, and a wide variety of fish including Coho, Chinook, and Steelhead.

The rear deck is the real gem - mostly covered for year round use - with a 2-person hot tub, gas BBQ, outdoor dining area, and additional seating. It's the perfect spot for breakfast or simply a cup of coffee while watching the fog burn off on a summer morning, relaxing throughout the day with a book, grilling up a storm for dinner and eating al fresco, followed by a soak in the hot tub. Hanging out at the house is effortless, but it's also a great jumping off point for day trips into the redwoods, the coast and along the river.

While The Perfect View is perfectly situated on the Russian River, there is not direct access to the river from the house. We recommend walking downriver a quarter mile to Dutch Bill Beach (no services) or walking/driving across the river to the Monte Rio Beach where, in the summer, you can rent canoes/kayaks/inner tubes and supplement your picnic with food at the concession stands.

The Perfect View is a hop, skip, and a jump to downtown Occidental - known for dueling, family-run Italian restaurants; an amazing seasonal farmer's market; and Howard Station Café - don't miss their breakfast.

Fencing: The yard is fenced to the road but open to the river. The river bank is exposed - please keep an eye on kids playing in the backyard.

Common Amenities not included: This home has an A/C unit in the kitchen that does a great job cooling the common areas of the house. There are ceiling and freestanding fans for the bedrooms.

Proximity to wineries: The Perfect View is just under 5 miles to downtown Guerneville and several tasting rooms in town. Westside Road - with a fantastic number of vineyards and tasting rooms - is about 10 miles from the house.

Nearest River Beach: While The Perfect View overlooks the river, it does not have direct access to the river or a beach. The Monte Rio Public Beach is slightly downriver and across the river. It's a half mile walk or drive. There is a closer beach on the same side of the river, a quarter mile walk, but it doesn't have boat rentals or concessions in the summer.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The closest ocean beaches are in Jenner approx. 9 miles away.

- "Our family of 4 (2 adult children) stayed 3 nights in this cozy space on the river. We loved the feel of being far away in the woods but close enough to purchase what we forgot and a short drive from our home. We spent time on the deck, in the hot tub, and bundled up on the couch relaxing. The 2 recommendations we have are to notify visitors that they need to turn on the water heater (we didn't realize this until wanting to shower the next morning) and that the kitchen had no pantry items at all (flour, sugar, spices, etc). Everything was clean, organized, and the management/check-in information was easy to follow. We did enjoy our stay and would rent this home again."

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at The Old Timer is 4 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times.

A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you are supporting local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County.

Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Heating: Each bedroom has an Eco wall heater plus the living room has a very efficient gas fireplace.

Cooling: This home does not have A/C, but there is a ceiling fan in each bedroom plus freestanding fans for other areas. This home does not have Air Conditioning, but the afternoon and evening breeze from the ocean and up the river generally keep the house a comfortable temperature. Ceiling and freestanding fans are provided. The house tends to stay cool – especially the rec room level.

Kitchen: There is a full kitchen with kitchen and gas stovetop/oven.

Bathrooms: The downstairs bathroom includes a shower over bathtub and the upstairs bathroom includes a shower.

Location: The Old Timer is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park only in the driveway and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Stairs: There are 4 stairs from the parking circle to the front door and 15 stairs from the main level to the upper suite. The main level of the home is all one level.

Once you arrive, you'll first step down onto our beautiful deck, with plentiful lounge seating, a dining table with benches and a gas grill. Relax under the cafe lights while you prepare your dinner or soak in the hot tub just steps away!

Inside on the top floor, you'll step into a recently-renovated kitchen, fully-equipped with everything you need to cook up your favorite meals. We provide coffee and tea, as well as cooking basics like olive oil, salt & pepper.

On the upper level, you'll also find a bedroom and a full bathroom. The bedroom has a Queen bed as well as a desk. The large bathroom is stocked with plush towels and luxury toiletries for your stay. All rooms on the upper level have large windows and skylights, which bring in an abundance of natural light throughout.

Next to the kitchen you'll find the living room with a wood-burning stove. Cozy up on the comfortable sofa to read a book, watch movies, listen to records, or play games with friends! The sofa turns into a bed if you need extra sleeping space.

The downstairs level is accessed by a separate entrance from the exterior. You'll step into a large open room with a sleeping area, a second living area, desk for working and seating area. Off this room is a full bathroom and the laundry room. Separated from the rest of the house, you can retreat downstairs to your own private suite!

If you leave the property during your stay, there are so many restaurants and activities within minutes from the house. We provide floats and other river toys if you venture to the river. Vino Nest is located one mile off River Road. This last mile is along a curvy and narrow hillside road. The road is paved but bumpy and steep in spots, especially just before pulling into our parking space.

**Parking is not easy in our neighborhood, as the spaces are scarce, small, and right along the narrow, steep roads. Fortunately, we do have one designated parking spot right out front. Pulling in and out of this space may be tricky your very first time, and is much easier with a 4-wheel drive.

Additional street parking is scarce, so plan to carpool. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. There are more parking spaces just down the hill near the mailboxes.

You will have full and private access of the entire property during your stay. The front door has keyless entry to ensure seamless access.

Vino Nest is a dog-friendly cabin. You're welcome to bring up to two well-behaved, house-trained dogs along, but please let us know when booking if your pet(s) will be joining you.

So that we can continue welcoming dogs to the house, we ask that you please wipe their paws before entering, keep them off furniture, pick up after them, and do not leave them at the house unattended.

Excess barking is a violation of the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance, so if you know your dog to be a barker, please make other arrangements for them.
