Outside on the covered lanai is another living set up with two couches and a coffee table and two outdoor eating areas. This is the best place to ponder how lucky you are! A wonderful outdoor shower is on the back of the house, hot and cold water, fun to use!
There are board games and a bocce ball set, dvd's, beach chairs and towels.
The house is located within walking distance to the Hana Lava Tubes, Kahanu Gardens and Hana Farms, Hana's Friday night hotspot for pizza and live music. There are also 3 food trucks on the road offering local eats, acai bowls and homemade ice cream. Waianapanapa State Park is only 2 miles away and Hana town is an easy 10 minute drive.

The setting is a cottage, with rustic furnishings with room for everyone. Bedding was impeccably clean. We had all the kitchen necessities for preparing meals. No air conditioning, but fans available. The temperature get lower at night so was comfortable. It is in a higher location so there is almost always a breeze. Would go back if I had the opportunity to visit again. There are dogs at the main house, but we barely heard them and never saw them. It is a private road and they bark only if a strange car pulls up. We had chickens that came to visit us every morning. Adorable."

• Ants love to find their way to food scraps and dirty dishes so please be diligent.

If you have any concerns about them or perhaps encountering any of these creatures.....PLEASE DO NOT BOOK!

JJ’s Hana Hale is a air conditioned 1 bedroom cottage, conveniently located near idyllic Hana town near the tiny Hana Airport in a historic district Hawaiian’s call: Ka’eleku, we’re on 6 verdant acres (turn left near the 31 mile marker on the legendary Hana Hwy). We live on the property, dedicating a large portion of it as a sanctuary for neglected animals. All are tame and very friendly. We encourage our guests to feel comfortable, enjoying their company… A second bedroom with its own bath can be made available if you have an extra guest (s) for an additional fee. Please inquire ahead of time.

- "First I apologize for the late response to review. All we can say is if you do not book this little farm as a weekender in Hana or for a break in between your Hana trek, you are missing out. We found it to be super charming. Alan is an incredible host, as are all the animals living their best life there. Lucy the dog came to greet us when we arrived, you will fall in love with her. The accommodation was spacious. At first we were a little concerned that there was no AC (sorry we’re from AZ…lol) but we quickly realized it was not needed. They do provide fans but really just open the doors and the breeze will flow through the screens, plus it rained in the evening and the early morning. There is a friendly gecko that hangs out in the unit, don’t be alarmed, he’s simply there for critter control. The morning we checked out, there was a gentleman there trimming the coconut trees and we were treated to fresh coconut. The farm is perfectly located & a short drive from Hana highway & places to grab coffee if you’re on the go. I/we could go on and on about this place but do yourselves a favor and go check it out. The tropical ecosystem does consist of geckos, non venomous spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, centipedes, and a variety of other insects. If you have any concerns about them or perhaps encountering any of these creatures.....PLEASE DO NOT BOOK!

Also within a mile are many delicious food trucks along with Hana Ranch Restaurant and Bar, Hasegawa Store and Hana Ranch Store. We are 5-10 minute drive to Waianapana State Park (Black Sand Beach), Hamoa Beach, Hana Lava Tube, Kahanu Gardens/Pi'ilani Hale, and many other amazing Hana landmarks.

Oheo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools), Wailua Falls, and the Pipiwai trails and waterfalls (Bamboo Forest) are all within 11 miles of Hana Organic Farm and Retreat.

LOCATION

It’s in jungle like settings so BUGS, ANTS, MOSQUITOS or Flying insects and critters are to be expected.

We don’t want you to get eaten alive by mosquitoes so we highly recommend you to always close the doors and make sure to bring bugs spray.

GECKOS/LIZARDS are also expected they like to eat the bugs and sometimes you might hear them at night. So if you're not ready to experience them, then this place is not for you.

HANA HIGHWAY

The hana highway is a very tricky road to drive, if you’re an inexperienced driver you might find it intimidating. Make sure you do more research about it before visiting Hana.

Always pull over to the locals, drive with caution and don’t over speed.

Olamana Organics is a labor of love, and small scale working organic tropical fruit farm. You will likely see the owners and their son harvesting fruit or flowers, and taking care of the plants. We encourage you to take a walk around and enjoy!

We grow a little bit of everything. Avocados, citrus, Bananas, coconuts, exotic fruits and flowers too! We provide a ripe basket of fruit upon your arrival. We also keep bees here to help pollinate our farm. We take pride in the cleanliness of the cottage, please be aware that you will likely see a gecko or two inside. This is very normal here in Hawaii no matter how fancy the accommodation. They are harmless and safe to pick up and put outside if you feel the need.

The Ho'okipa Surf Suite Studio at Heavenly Hana Paradise features a private lanai and entrance, surrounded by fresh ginger, gardenia, and tropical greenery. The en suite bathroom includes plush bath towels, hand towels, complementary toiletries, and beach towels.

Air Conditioning, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffeemaker, free WiFi, Roku TV, board games, complementary snacks, coffee pods, and a collection of various teas are provided at no extra charge to guests.

A UV Sanitizer Box is included in your suite. You can easily and quickly disinfect your phone, jewelry, watches, credit cards, keys and remotes during your stay. The UV Sanitizer box will clean up to 99.9% of household germs, viruses, and bacteria.

A UV Air Purifier used in cleaning of your suite removes 99.97% of the dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, odors, and air particles as small as 0.3 microns. The UV light adds a deeper level of air sanitation by destroying illness-causing microorganisms. After cleaning, the suite is secured until your arrival.

Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the property without exception. Our Maui County permit number is BBHA2015/0001. The Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax number is TA-141-807-8208-01.

Fresh coconut, mango, pineapple, papaya, avocado, lemon and ripe banana trees surround Heavenly Hana Paradise and guests may pick fruit, when in season. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities in the surrounding areas, such as snorkeling and hiking.

The center of Hana town, Hana Bay, Koki Beach, Hāmoa Beach, the Hana Lava Tube, and Waianapanapa State Park (with the famous black sand beach) are all within a 10 minute drive from Heavenly Hana Paradise.

Haleakala National Park at Kipahulu at about 35 minutes away, with the pools at O`heo Gulch and Pipiwai Trail, a two mile hike through a bamboo forest terminating at a spectacular waterfall.

Hana is home to over a dozen food trucks that are usually open for lunch. Braddah Hutts BBQ, one of our favorite food trucks, is located just outside of Hana town and is open from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm weekdays. Kilo's Kitchen, also a favorite food truck, is located about 1/4 mile from Heavenly Hana Paradise just past the
Hana Police Station on Uakea Road and is open weekdays for lunch. Thai Food by Pranee, also on Uakea and located near Hana Bay is usually open weekdays for lunch.

The Bamboo Hale at Hana Farms (near the "Welcome to Hana" sign) is open daily for lunch and for lunch and for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Hana Resort serves breakfast daily beginning at 7:00 am.

Hana Ranch Restaurant is open daily for lunch and for dinner (until 9:00 pm).

The two grocery stores in Hana are Hasegawa General Store (closes at 6:00 pm) and Hana Ranch Store (closes at 7:00 pm). There is one gas station, which closes around 7:00 pm and is the only gas station in East Maui after you leave Paia town.

- "Had a wonderful stay here!!Planned to stay in Hana after a long day of driving road to Hana. This was the perfect spot. I was weary as Hana can be quite rural and limited options, but this place was quaint and exactly what we needed. Dale welcomed us in and gave us some great recommendations and a seamless check-in process. The accommodation had snacks, teas, coffees, AC, WiFi, a comfortable big bed, a Roku to watch your streaming apps, INCREDIBLE water pressure/temperature, and a number of products provided.
