Transportation around the resort could be better and the staff could be a bit nicer. I would give this place 7.5 out of 10 but the ONLY reason I’ll give it a 10/10 is because of the chef Jose over at the cookhouse restaurant. Jose brought some amazing flavor to the meals and would come out and say hello every day we were there. Would sincerely ask for feedback. Went above and beyond on his meals. The beach across the street wasn't safe for swimming during our visit, but we were prepared for that based on the time of year we visited (March). It was still enjoyable for sitting in the sand and checking out the tidepools and watching the sun set. There's pretty much only one walkable option for eating, which is the restaurant right across the street. It has a fantastic patio right on the water. Driving into Kona will take just 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. We would definitely stay here again."
