- "Our flight was delayed, luggage late, we were so tired and wondering what else could go wrong. But instructions to the VRBO lication and access were perfect, and the place is adorable. Such sweet touches like fan folded towels helped us unwind. Yes, there is traffic that you hear, but no loud city noises. Everything worked fine, with the exception of a slightly "sticky" screen door. But that's common in tropical weather. We definitely recommend this sweet place."

The upstairs is 528 sf with 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area, sleeps two guests. The Bay View Suite is accessed by an outside stairway.

The Bay View Suite features simple furnishings in keeping with a beach cottage atmosphere. It has a new Queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a fully remodeled full-size bathroom with walk-in shower, and a fully remodeled kitchen and a living/dining area.

There is a beautiful 8,500 square foot fenced yard and outdoor patio area. This yard will be shared with the downstairs unit which will be occupied by one retired person.

Parking is ample, off-street and fenced.

There is an outdoor shower for washing off sand from the beach, etc.

Paia Bay Suites is a new vacation rental offering in one of Paia’s most desirable locations. It sits on Loio Place, a side street which is oceanside of the highway yet is just a short stroll from the heart of Paia Town. It’s a great location for guests wanting to be close to Paia Town and the ocean.

Paia Town is an eclectic town with a mix of locals, surfers, New Agers, evangelical Christians, hippies, monied people, working folks, artists, snowbirds, Buddhists, and more. It was a rough plantation town that is now transitioning into Maui’s hippest beach town destination.

The property consists of a two-story cottage on a large fenced lot close to the ocean of Paia Bay (it is not oceanfront).

Getting Around

Paia is the perfect starting place for day trips around the island. A car is necessary if you plan on sightseeing. We do have a bus that takes you to locations around the island but you will miss some of the islands most popular attractions. The Maui Bus stop is about a 10 minute walk from the property.

The ocean is your front yard.
The property is ocean front, our home is on the ocean side and the cottage is on the road side. Of course our guests have access to the chairs and table located at the edge of the ocean. No beach access from the property as there are some big rocks sitting in front. But a beach is walking distance from here. Tavares Beach.
Walk out into the front yard (along the owners' house), and watch surfers enjoying the beautiful blue waves! Maui by the Sea's property is located right on the ocean, fronting a popular local surf break. The entertainment never stops!

Your cottage is 150 feet from the ocean. (There is no beach in front of the property; it is a rocky shoreline). A sandy beach is 200 yards from the cottage with access for windsurfing, surfing and snorkeling; or if you wish, just sunbathing on the golden sand.

A short drive down the coast takes you to Baldwin Beach, the nicest beach on Maui's North Shore with long long stretches of white sand, crystal clear water, lifeguards, pavilions, and showers.

Maui by the Sea Cottage sits off of Hana Highway, it is a 2 lane road). There can at times be excessive road noise. However, we have good insulation and have added central air conditioning to minimize the problem. There will be no refund given due to this situation.
Absolutely NO smoking in or outside the cottage or on the property. No candle burning or open flame.
No loud music. No parties. No outside visitors. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am.
From the guest cottage you look over the roof of the owner’s house to the ocean. Our guests are very welcome to walk anywhere on the property and use the lawn chairs by the ocean. There is no beach in front of the property, it is a rocky shoreline.
A sandy beach is 200 yards from the cottage. There is a security camera in the garage.

This unique and romantic two story, one bedroom house is nestled in a mango tree. The house is an A-frame structure with high ceilings and skylights making it bright and airy. It is located less than a mile from the bohemian town of Paia and ALL of the North Shore beaches. The closest beach access is Kuau Beach, Kuau point, three blocks, and Hookipa Beach less than a mile.
The second floor bedroom has a queen size bed with French doors that open up to the private lanai and a window AC unit.The main floor has a living area with a full size futon/couch, a full kitchen and a marble tile bathroom with a jetted tub and shower combination. You can see just a small sliver of ocean from the second floor lanai, but we do not call it an ocean view. There is a patio just outside the house, with an outdoor grill, outdoor shower to remove the sand from your day at the beach and your own private parking area.

Ku'au Plaza is a very small, friendly, quiet 30 unit condo complex; the only one of it's kind on Maui's north shore. 3. Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement. The County law allows us to accommodate a maximum of two guests x the number of bedrooms.
4. Parking - There is plenty of parking on the property. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on the street at any time. When vehicles are on the street, there is insufficient space for emergency vehicles, fire trucks, the trash truck or neighbors to get down the road.

Condo furniture and other items must not be repositioned, and no condo items other than those for beach use may be taken outside the condo. Large sports equipment (kiteboards, surfboards, bicycles, etc.) must be stored outside, not in our condo or on the lanai.

We provide a welcome starter supply kit stocked with - one pack of coffee grounds, coffee filters, toilet paper, paper towel, tissue, can liners, salt & pepper, spray oil, laundry detergent, dish soap, sponge, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, and bar soap. Please note that this is only a starter supply to make sure you have everything you need upon arrival.

HOUSEKEEPING:
Our professional housekeeping team has strict procedures and checklists to guarantee constant quality across all our properties. All linens and towels are professionally cleaned with scent-free detergent and high-temperature washing (180°F). Our trained inspectors also check everything before each arrival.

The cleaning fee includes all of the services listed above and restocking of amenities after each departure. There will be an extra charge if excessive cleaning is necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

LINENS & TOWELS:
You will receive one set of towels (bath towel, hand towel, washcloth, beach towel) per guest. Beds are equipped with a fitted sheet, two flat sheets, and a blanket. Linens for the sleeper sofa are on the sofa mattress, and pillows and blankets are in the closet.

Also would have loved having a pool!" - "The condo was very clean and comfortable and the welcome goodies were much appreciated! It was nice to have AC in each bedroom and the living room. The beds were very comfortable ( even the sofa bed!) and the kitchen was well stocked. The property management group was very responsive with a few questions we had. It was a short, easy walk to the baby beach nearby and we were able to walk to Mamas fish house and get a table as a standby (since we didn’t make a reservation months in advance). It was a great home base for our drive to Hana, upcountry and Haleakala summit. We would definitely stay here again!"

This charming Hawaiian style cottage is nestled in a private garden in Kuau, a small residential neighborhood which is part of Paia. The cottage features two bedrooms (each with queen bed), full bathroom (shower only, no tub), second toilet in the laundry room, outdoor shower, fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave), cable TV and DVD, CD stereo, and shared laundry. There is a nice little yard with patio furniture, gas BBQ and racks to store windsurfing gear. The cottage is just a minute by car to "downtown" Paia, which offers bank, post office, restaurants, a great health food store, gas stations, and small boutique shops.
Beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler are provided.

We are delighted that you are considering this property for your vacation lodging. We are sure that you would enjoy this lovely vacation home. This property has a vacation rental permit issued by the County of Maui, and is subject to the rules and restrictions imposed by the County for ALL short term rental homes. Please understand that we would be unable to accept a rental that does not agree to abide by these rules. Note: properties without a short term rental permit are subject to closure by the County.

House Rules:
1. Neighbors - Please be considerate of our neighbors. Noise carries easily to their homes, particularly in the evening. NO loud music, NO parties, NO amplified sound of any nature at any time. Many neighbors must be up early in the morning to go to work, and it's important that your use of this property does not impact them in any way.
2. Quiet Hours - Quiet time is from 9pm to 8am.
3. Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement. The County law allows us to accommodate a maximum of two guests x the number of bedrooms.
4. Parking - There is plenty of parking on the property. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on the street at any time. When vehicles are on the street, there is insufficient space for emergency vehicles, fire trucks, the trash truck or neighbors to get down the road.
5. Minimum of 1 guest must meet the minimum age requirement of 25.

At the time of booking, we'll forward the property rental agreement for review and acceptance. Additional information with respect to care and maintenance of the house will be included in the rental agreement. Payment is accepted by check, VISA or MC. For guests preferring to use VISA or MC, a 2% processing fee will be added.

Classic Paia surf condo located on the first floor of Kuau Plaza centrally located on Maui's north shore. Your private patio leads out to a large communal lawn and palm trees. Mama's hidden beach is only a two min walk, Ho'okipa a two minute drive, a 5 minute drive to Paia town with unique shopping and great restaurants, and a 10 minute drive to Haiku. You are perfectly positioned for your trip to Hana or Haleakala Crater.

- "We didn’t have the best cell service and Vrbo doesn’t list the unit #, so I had to call the host, who responded quicker than I thought he would! He was very responsive to other questions we had. Looks exactly like the photos, super cute, and the location was in walking distance to a little beach and the famous Mama’s Fish House. Tip: reservations are booked out months, but if you go when they open around 11am or 12pm, ask if you can eat at the bar. We were able to get seats at the bar after we spent the morning at the beach! About a 5 min drive to the main area of Paia where all the stores and restaurants are located. We didn’t have a car, so we just took a Lyft bc it would be about a 20-30 min walk. We would stay here again! Mahalo, Christian!"

Nalu House is the perfect home for a Maui vacation. This house, a beautiful designer remodeled home, combines old Hawaii's charm with all the modern amenities. Sit outside on a private covered lanai on relaxing lounge chairs to watch the turtles, surfers and paddle boarders as you sip a beverage or prepare dinner on the BBQ. Walk 10 yards to Paia Bay to play in the sand. Shops and restaurants are a 2 minutes stroll out the front gate.

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for the nights when you feel like staying in. In alternative there are plenty of restaurants and take away options at walking distance in Paia.
For after-dark entertainment you can move to the media room that has a large screen TV and a pull out couch.
There are only 2 bedrooms, each with a king size bed.
A weekly mid-stay clean is mandatory for stays of two weeks or longer.

- "The house was very nice. Clean, modern, best views imaginable, comfortable, etc. it was also nice to have Paia town right at our doorsteps and the convenience of the coffee shop, groceries, restaurants, and pubs was something we missed when staying in other parts of the island. Also, the beach is one of the better beaches for clear water, zero crowds, and tons of turtles. The only issue we had was out of the control of the property management and that is with bored kids in the area squating in the absentee owners house next door and being disruptive. But, the property manager was awesome and did what she could do and it was only a problem for a short while. While you are in the backyard you would never realize how busy Paia town was as it is very private. We loved our stay."

Close to airport, and downtown while at the same time a short drive to rainforest and waterfalls. We are surrounded by miles old sugar cane fields and a very low density of housing gives you the feeling of being out in the country, not like being trapped in a corporate mega resort full of other tourists. You will get to experience what it's like to live as locals do and really catch the true essence of Hawaiian Aloha. Paia is the last stop for fuel and supplies before embarking on the long road to Hana so it a great starting point for each days activities weather it be hiking to a waterfall, driving up to the Volcano summit of Haleakala, or finding a perfect beach to surf or relax. You can drive to pretty much anywhere on island in 45 min to an hour from our location so its a great base for most everyones daily adventures. Paia town has amazing one of a kind restaurants, massage, yoga, organic grocery store and shopping galore. Paia has unique boutiques and stores selling items you won't find anywhere else on Maui. There is only one stop light in town. You will see bumper stickers that say "slow down this ain't the mainland" and "Practice Aloha"

Paia is convenient to the airport but a world away in culture and vibe. We have a 2-minute walk to a secluded beach, and a 1-minute walk to Mama's Fish House, one of the highest-rated restaurants on the island. A 1/4 mile drive to Ho'okipa Beach, one of the world's highest-rated destinations for wind kite/ board sports. Also a nice surf break.
On Hana Hwy, the top drive for waterfalls and hiking options. A day trip to Hana is always recommended.
Paia also is known for great art and shopping.

We have three newly renovated air-conditioned studios on our property. This add features our newly renovated 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom ocean view upstairs house. The house has a full kitchen, large living room, indoor and outdoor dinning, smart TV, free streaming Wifi, washer / dryer, hot tub, BBQ, and beach gear to use. Our property is very private with coded gate and secured off street parking for guests. We have a large park like yard with Mango, lime, lemon and Avocado trees. Amazing ocean views! 10 - 15 walk to Paia town and world class beaches! Only 15 min. drive to airport! 20 min drive to waterfall hikes in the rain forest.
We have a 3 night minimum to book in advance. We are walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and beach in Paia. Come stay in our tropical sanctuary located in the coolest little beach town on Maui. The real Hawaiian experience is what you will find here. No big corporate mega resorts and chain stores. Just mom and pop style family owned businesses. Paia has the best organic food stores, restaurants and unique one of a kind shops in Maui. - "Great spot and location - close to everything they were super nice" - "The property was very well maintained and the owners extremely thoughtful about necessities away from home. There were two sets of washers and dryers accessible to all so pack light! The landscaping was beautiful which also allowed you to relax at home for a bit - you could be outside but didn’t have to be “out”. This is key because it allows you to make full use of your last day since flights back to the mainland are often at night. *Guest is responsible for keys, and will be charged $100 for replacement. *If room requires excessive cleaning guest credit card will be charged a $75 fee. Unsalvageable linens & towels will be charged to the guest.

*Quiet hours are from 9:00pm to 8:00am during which time the noise from the short term rental home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. *Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non quiet hours shall not be more excessive that would be otherwise associated with a residential area. *Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries of the short term rental home is prohibited. *Vehicles shall be parked in the designated parking area and shall not be parked on the street. Self Park (unassigned spaces) in our Onsite lot (behind the Inn building) and Offsite lot (50 yards to the right of the Inn building next to the art gallery) *No parties or group gatherings other than registered guests shall occur. *The shoreline area is the property of the people of Hawaii and is open for the free use by everyone. *Smoking is NOT allowed anywhere on property. Smoking will incur a $500 cleaning fee. *Occupancy limits are STRICTLY enforced. *Landscaping is on Wednesdays throughout the property starting no earlier than 9:30am.
