We are one of the few units in the complex with a washer and dryer and dishwasher in our unit, so that you will have more time for the beautiful beaches and star filled nights right outside the condo. Our 2012 4-door automatic Hyundai car gets 38-40 MPG is available for an additional price and will be parked at the airport. We are liscenced with the state of Hawaii for our rental car. It is paid to me seperately and includes tax and fees and is at the airport at noon the day of your arrival. The island of Molokaʻi, is also known as the "Friendly Island". There is only one airport (MKK) in Hoʻolehua. Be informed that car rentals are limited. There are approximately 1,000 tourists on any given day and 288 vehicles at last count. As others have said, half the complex is boarded up and half is being used which suited us well as this meant we had the beach to ourselves for multiple days. Recomend just making your meals in the condo, there is everything you need including sauces and oils (kine leftovers from other guests so obviously changing). Car is definitely an island car but can't beat the price! We had a few issues but Vickie was very quick to respond and help out. This is not the place for you if you need to be waited on constantly (maybe try Oahu not Molokai) but if you like peace, exploring off the beaten path and empty beaches, this is it!"

You have a 20 foot vaulted ceiling giving you an overall open feeling. Hale Kamaluhia is our passion and we want guests to feel like they are coming to a cherished family retreat. We strive to provide most of what you might need except for food and clothing. For your convenience we have provided beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, a small cooler, small beverage cooler, snorkel gear, tennis rackets, and binoculars for whale watching in the Winter months. You will find our kitchen fully stocked with starter coffee, tea, spices, etc.
You may read past reviews about guests renting our vehicles, but because we no longer live on Molokai, we no longer have vehicles to rent.
Our condo can accommodate 4 guests but only when the reservation is for 3 adults & 1 child or 2 adults & 2 children, as the 4th accommodation is a folding futon.

This downstairs (no stairs) unit offers one of the best views in Ke Nani Kai. These views can be enjoyed from the lanai, kitchen, living room/dining room, or the bedroom while standing, sitting, or stretching out!

The luxury vinyl flooring throughout is great for those with allergies/sensitivities to carpet and dust mites. And, SLEEP COMFORTABLY on a queen-size mattress in the bedroom. We also provide liquid hand soap for the kitchen and bath. You will find a small supply of toilet paper and paper towels. Longer stay visitors are reimbursed for any additional cleaning supplies purchased during their stay.

We use our unit several times each year and it is fully equipped and it is waiting for you to call it 'home' during your stay.

You can't beat the views and privacy from 5A!
Perfectly situated on the lot, with picture-perfect views of sunsets, Kaiaka rock, and Oahu.

Your cottage has a new kitchen (January 2023) and offers amazing natural light and sense of space from 3 walls of windows/doors and 20 foot vaulted ceilings. You can view the ocean from bed or sitting down from nearly every spot in the cottage.

You will have miles and miles of hiking trails and beaches just outside your door! Papohaku beach is nearly 3 miles long and you may find that you have it all to yourself. We love to walk over to Make Horse beach every morning to enjoy our coffee. Again, you don't have to go far!

Depending on the time of year, you may see whales breaching right from the sofa or the lanai. You will see turkey strolling across the lawn almost daily. It's good fun and some days it's hard to find a reason to leave the cottage!

The pool is nice-sized, super clean, and refreshing. It also has stunning panoramic oceans views. There are several showers outside to rinse off after a trip to the beach. The beach is very swimmable all summer with lots of sand however it is not recommended in the winter months due to higher surf, less sand and more rock exposed.

Privacy is exceptional in this cottage. With the exception of 5 B, there are no immediate neighbors, with good space between you and the nearest buildings on all sides. There are no buildings between 5A and the ocean, just a clear view to the water!

The cottages stand apart from the other units available here at Kepuhi Beach Resort. The 1 bedroom and studio buildings have 8 to 12 units per building. The cottage buildings are unique as they only have 2 units, with no one above. This allows for much more privacy, peace and quiet.

Parking for 5A is in the lowest lot, just past security to the left. No hills to descend (or climb) with your groceries and gear!

There is a small convenience shop (Da Store) here at the resort that offers some groceries, including snacks, and basic necessities. Although there is no alcohol sold here, it is open 7 days a week. A larger variety of groceries is available in Kuanakaki. By the way, there is no nightlife here.

Please note there are no AC units here in the condos at Kepuhi Beach Resort. Windows and doors are often open and you are almost guaranteed to see geckos inside as well as other bugs here and there. You will also have some dust get inside due to the trade winds.

The trade-off is the view, the pristine and private beaches, never-ending hiking, and a feeling that you are truly in "old Hawaii". If this isn't the right fit for you, no worries, a high-rise in Maui is close by! But for those who are curious to experience this wonderful island, or others who are returning, we welcome you to paradise and one of the best-kept secrets in the islands.

A few tips for your stay:

For groceries you can swing by the local grocery in Kaunakakai just after you land. It’s only 5 or 6 miles from the airport. The grocery is “Friendly’s” and they are closed on Sundays, open till 6pm other days. There is a small convenience shop on location at the resort (Da Store) open 7 days a week 9-5. They have more than you’d expect (no alcohol) but your main shopping should be done in town.
If you like to eat out we would recommend Hotel Molokai, it’s close to town (Kaunakakai). The restaurant is the only waterfront dining on Molokai and they have a good spicy poke plate or the catch of the day with veggies is always fantastic!
You’ll find the best beaches on Molokai all within walking distance from the cottage (west side of Molokai) including Make Horse beach, our favorite. 4 beaches are near the cottage.
One of the best views in Molokai is a very easy to drive and only a 2 min walk (all paved) from the parking lot! It’s Kalaupapa Lookout. We usually see it a few times every visit. It’s only about 10 minutes out of your way if you are headed to Kaunakakai for anything. Phallic Rock trail is also accessible from the same parking area and is maybe a half mile hike or so, pretty easy and an interesting story.
The pool is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days a week and has amazing sunset views!

Paradise In Molokai... Ke Nani Kai Unit 212
This is the 3rd time we stayed at Ke Nani Kai Unit 212 primarily because the unit has such an ideal view and location and because it features just the nicest upscale 2-bedroom vacation condo on all of Molokai. The bedrooms are large with big beds and fine linen. Really nice video and sound system. The large kitchen has all the best equipment and layout. There is a huge lanai/balcony fronting on the ocean view. Great for evening dinners and viewing the Milky Way and billions of stars. Practically no traffic. Totally quiet except for the occasional nighttime barking deer (yes, I did say 'deer”). Loads of other wildlife nearby: peacocks, wild turkeys, mongoose, all kinds of beautiful birds, monk seals at the beaches all near this condo. Speaking of beaches, there are 4 beautiful beaches within short walking distance that are pristine and usually totally deserted. What a paradise!!! Finally, the proprietors could not be any nicer and more accommodating. Great folks. We will be coming back to this condo again and again.

Home away From Home
Returning to Unit 212 at ke Nani Kai is like coming home. We have visited Molokia many times but once we found this unit, we return to it every year. It has a lovely view, a deck/patio with very comfortable furniture and a table that seats six. The inside of the Unit is tastefully decorated, the beds and furniture are really comfy, and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. The complex is quiet and well-maintained. There is lots of easy walking and the Ironwood Golf Course, although Executive, is a challenging nine holes and really reasonable. Molokai does not change much and that is another aspect that we really enjoy. We highly recommend Unit 212 and the Ke Nani Kai on Molokai.

Gorgeous unit and complex, great value
This was an excellent rental. It was a modern, up to date unit with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a huge lanai, and a gorgeous kitchen with a wine chiller (which we took advantage of). When renting, you deal directly with the owners who were always responsive and made the rental quick and easy. You could see the beach from the lanai, and could enjoy the wild turkeys walking by once or twice per day. The condo is located in the Ke Nani Kai complex. This is a wonderful quiet, complex with a great pool and sauna and impeccably clean grounds and landscaping - very, very nice. On one day, we were the only ones at the pool for an hour or two - so, not crowded either. I certainly would recommend this condo for a couple or small family.

UNIQUE: Our Hawaiian house (or “hale”) is exceptional not solely because it is so close to the water… we are also just off of an extremely private walkway that ends at a picturesque lava rock path at our front door. It is away from all resort gathering spaces and the parking lot, yet right off of the main path and down only one short (and wide) flight of stairs.

KEEPING COOL: Because of its ideal plot within the condo complex, there's rare tree coverage, providing a shady rooftop that keeps you cool all day long. Of course, we also encourage you to slide the accordion-walls open so you can enjoy the 180 degree views, to feel and smell the sweet Hawaii trade winds as you relax on the wrap around lanai. That's right... being a highly-coveted corner unit, you've also got ample room to rejuvenate on a huge 450 sq ft screened-in patio! Coupled with extremely high ceilings, there’s an open and airy feel to the space, and you'll be happy you chose our hideaway. "Our hale is your hale", and as we stay here several months a year ourselves, it is in wonderful shape and we are confident it has everything you'll need for a getaway in paradise!
