The gentleman that works during the later hour is a true delight and very efficient. He's very polite and respectful, and checks you in fast. Even if the phone is ringing, he stays focused on you, he doesn't pick up until he's finished with you! The beds are comfortable and the pillows are awesome. The property is older, the bath tub's coating is peeling up a little, but understandable for the age of the hotel. My only two complaints would be, they don't have curtains on the windows, just a fairly filmy shade. The other dislike is the smell in the hallways, almost a moldy type smell, or maybe it's the air freshener they use, but it has a moldy/musty unpleasant odor. I would not hesitate to stay here again. There are very few motels/hotels within 100 miles of this area. I easily booked a room. On arrival the staff were very friendly and even helped me, and my stranded companions, find current road conditions. The property is dog and child friendly (you might be greeted by either one, which personally I love). It is not the Waldorf-Astoria, but the price is not either. If you want to stay in a place where people care, and want to help you, this is a great place. They even agreed to hold my room until noon, to give me a chance to see if I got over Raton Pass (which luckily I did!). Overall 5 stars for me!"
