We are Simon and Annie Greenlay. We first saw Urquhart Bay cottage in 2014 and fell in love with it. We have run Urquhart Bay BnB for 2yrs(see our other listings for reviews). We knew immediately that we wanted to live in this peaceful place with its one-of-a-kind views over Loch Ness.

The Croft is our latest project that we have put our heart and soul into, and look forward to sharing it with our guests.

The Croft is ideally situated close to the beautiful Highland village of Drumnadrochit, and is only a 2 minute walk from the iconic Urquhart Castle. It sits in extensive private gardens to explore offering stunning views of Loch Ness and Glen Urquhart.

Downstairs, there is a large kingsize bedroom with original bothy window offering views from the bed across the loch, and a separate luxury bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower with rain head. Upstairs, there is a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with free standing log burner, that also has a pull out sofa bed for children. We have worked with local craftsmen to restore and enhance the original building, so that you are never far from a view of the Loch(even from your bed!), and couldn’t be closer to the iconic Urquhart Castle, just a few minutes’ walk away.

For the cosier evenings we have a large log burner, SMART TV and high speed WiFi available throughout.

- "The house was just as described. Sunroom was amazing. Bed was very comfortable, and place was very clean. The deli next door is literally feet from the property however they close down @ 1600 so it is not loud/busy long. Right next to the deli is a great food truck and pub so that is super convenient. The only negative I have to say is I had to accidentally misplaced my "access" information to get in and the Managment company was EXTREMELY slow at replying (they did not reply to VRBO messages, and I had to call out of country to get someone to answer me) and then they were a little rude when I needed help. They did help however they treated me like I was dumb. Definitely not a deal breaker since the property was so nice. House 10 out of 10. Management company 5 out of 10."

- "I brought 21 women to Polmaily House. We came to hike in the area. The house was just perfect! The pool, media room, sitting and gathering areas, kitchen, all perfect! Chris was so gracious and accommodating. He recommended Aggie from Heavy Metal Munchies to cater during our time there. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of room for all of us to sit and have our meals together. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a home base in the highlands of Scotland."

- "Would recommend to everyone! We had such a lovely stay. The house is huge and accommodating. The views are spectacular and the ground it sits in allows you to see a lot of deer! Ideally situated for close links to Inverness and the local town has a coop and a few takeaway options/local deli.The only slight issue was the water pressure, we found only one could shower at one time as to not reduce the pressure, unsure if this just needs a quick fix and two of the rooms did not have working radiators, however again unsure if this was because we did not have a party sleeping in all 9 beds. The aga is amazing for keeping the kitchen/dining room nice and toasty.Would stay again :)"

- "We were lucky to have booked early, and the property was a wee gem. The quality and decoration was above what you may expect, ideal and fitting to the area. We slept very well there. The location was ideal and there were lovely views to the loch... and yes...we are pretty sure we did see the monster (there were even binoculars provided).
