Located in the heart of the picturesque Lourmarin, in one of the oldest village's building, lies the light filled La Toupine Apartment. The old building is nestled in a tiny street just off the main but almost as tiny street going through the village. Everything is directly at your footsteps; restaurant, coffees, bars, shopping, market.. The tiny street Rue du Grand Pré, will lead you through the ancient arched wooden door of the building that was once used as a basketwork fabric. There, step into an inviting courtyard leading to another arched wooden door that opens into a spacious staircase enveloped by classic vaulted limestone work. The light filled apartment is on the top floor, with every window giving access to a beautiful view of the villages' roofs.

La Toupine offers a beautiful living space comfortably accommodating up to four people. This includes two nicely sized bedrooms and an intimate bathroom. The apartment was very recently entirely remodeled, updated and freshly painted. All of the appliances available are new and updated.

One of the bedroom has a queen size bed, and the other has two twin beds or possibility to make a queen bed. Each of the bedroom has large windows opening to the beautiful village's views, and an ancient and traditional decorative fireplace. The two bedrooms are nicely sized and storage places will accommodate all of your belongings. All linens are included.

The bathroom has been renovated and offers an updated bath tub, sink, a large mirror, hair dryer, plenty of storage space. The towels and complimentary bathroom supplies are provided.

The cozy and inviting living/dinning room opens up to a light filled and fully equipped provençal style kitchen. This includes a dishwasher, oven, stoves, fridge, all cooking tools. It will provide you with every necessary elements to easily cook and entertain your family or friends.

- "My friend and I spent 11 wonderful nights at the "maison" and couldn't be more pleased. The house was spacious, well appointed and the location was exceptional! An easy 10 minute walk to town. The location is in a very quiet, country type setting. Perfect for evening walks. The house was well equipped - we only needed groceries. There is a small but well stocked grocery/deli store right at the entrance of town within the 10 minute walk. The hosts were very gracious in stocking the kitchen with salt, pepper, olive oil, herbs de Provence and balsamic vinegar. Even a starter supply of instant coffee and tea. A nice touch was a welcome gift of Provence cookies and a bottle of rose - my favorite wine now. One drawback was the second bedroom which is located in a former entryway. There was only a curtain, no door, that separated the little room from the hallway. And no place to put a suitcase, but we made it work. We certainly liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the spacious shower room. Enjoyed the covered patio area for dining and relaxing in the comfortable lounge chairs. Perfect for sunbathing and reading. The backyard could use a little TLC - a bit of a limited view of the next door vineyard. Overall this was a very enjoyable stay and experience. We will be back next year. We loved our "maison.""

The house is a page taken out of this story and the heroine would be our host, Adeline. What a beautiful house, lots of character, charm and warmth (actually cool since Lourmarin was suffering through a heat wave and the first floor was cold from the earth). The house hit our top 3 priorities, archictecure, comfort, location. The location is superb, the house even more, and our gracious host beautiful. The bottle of wine was very classy, merci Beaucoup Adeline. House is fully furnished, even two 110-220 converters but don't expect this on any other location, it's just that Adeline has all this covered. I would describe the exterior of the house very typical of Lourmarin and the interior Mediterranean, the cool factor with my kids was Uber cool. Very good for a family of six (we travel with grandmere-grandma) but don't know if good for six adults, maybe if you have traveled with them before. The green book she provides about Lourmarin, restaurants, and things to do is your bible.
