- "This hotel was impeccably clean with an amazing vista of Capri right from the balcony of our room. The early morning sun casts a beautiful hue over the island, then brightens as the day progresses. The local buses stop directly in front of the hotel which compensate for its remote location. Taxis are a little pricey here so it helps to get a good handle on the bus schedule. The staff was helpful pointing us in the right direction for buses/taxis. We saw quite a bit in the four short days we were there. We toured Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano, and Capri in Late September. Weather was slightly hot but tolerable. It was very windy when we went to Capri, all of the small boats were cancelled so we couldn't do the Grotto. The wind was so strong we were concerned with getting stuck on Capri if they cancelled the ferry boats. The bus to Positano is quite an experience, the road is full of countless hairpin-turns overlooking cliffs and very low guardrails. We almost got stuck in Positano because every bus out of there was overfilled with people. A couple of incidences we had in this area (unrelated to the hotel) was one in Pompeii there was a set of UNMARKED stairs adjacent to the bathrooms, when we went down the stairs the woman that worked there wouldn't let us back up, this was after we were there only about 10 minutes. We had to argue with the woman through a semi-language barrier and wait for her to make 4 phone calls before she finally allowed us back up the stairs. It wasn't just us there was about 10 other people who did the same thing. There are no markings on the stairs. The other incident was boarding the high-speed train, a man pushed his way through all the people behind us, we mistook him for a porter, he grabbed our luggage, and placed it on the top shelf before we could figure out what was going on, he demanded a tip. We refused, we didn't ask for or need his assistance and he had no business being on a train. We thought he worked for the train company. "

We must have looked at 40-50 hotels in the region before settling on this one and, after our week long visit, we were glad we did! If you are booking tours, I would recommend booking thru the hotel, as they will pick you up there. We made the mistake of booking one tour thru someone else and we had to walk 10 minutes to the bus stop, then take a bus to another city to pick up the tour. We had to get up very early to do this, Franco was wonderful he had to-go bags ready for us with water, juice a pastry and sandwiches. He helped us with the 2nd tour booking which was great and many other things, he made our stay very special! We also had a great experience with Marco and also with the bartender and a nice women at the desk, ( can't remember all the names) that helped us in booking a bus to get to the airport. "

We had a constant 38 degrees in the room - day or night - even though we slept with the balcony door wide open - hence the dozens of annoying mosquitoes in the room. The nice touch is the jacuzzi on the roof, where you can enjoy a great sunset (provided the haze lifts from time to time)."

The premises are covered in beautiful flowers and the hotel is just down the road from a bus stop. There was a water outage in the area which meant no running water for a couple of days but the hotel made sure to keep us supplied with lots of bottled water so we had water to drink and clean ourselves. - "Loved this place so much" - "We stayed in a superior 2 bedroom bungalow for 4 people (my husband and I and our two adult daughters) It was exactly as described. It is also one of the few places right at the sea on the coast. We didn't realize when we were looking for a place to stay that most of the resorts and hotels advertise a beautiful sea view but are actually are far above the sea. At this resort you can actually walk down to the beach. We took the excursion to Capri for the day which was also beautiful. As mentioned by other reviewers, make sure to bring cash. Everything is cash only at Villaggio Nettuno which is not a problem if you are prepared. We would definitely stay again!"

- "I left a longer review earlier where I waxed rhapsodic about the owners and this property but somehow it didn't save and I just don't have it in me to compose another long email. :-) Suffice to say that we stayed in three different short-term rental properties while in Italy and this was our favorite by an order of magnitude. The property itself manages to be both spaciously beautiful and cozily intimate but the people are what defined this location for us. The family who owns it checked on us every day to ensure everything was going well and essentially pampered us like long lost friends instead of customers whom they've never met. I cannot say enough good things about the people who own this property. I stayed here with my three college-aged children and my elderly mother and we all had a fantastic time. I would not only recommend this property to anyone already planning to travel to this area, I would recommend that anyone visiting Southern Italy change their plans to get a chance to experience this wonderful location and these beautiful people."
