The cabins are also just a short drive from the beautiful village of Middlebury (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) - home to Middlebury College. The college's downtown and Bread Loaf campuses are both less than 10 miles away. And the town has something for everybody - museums, historic sites, restaurants, music, art, shopping, Tasting Trail, hiking trails and more. For outdoor enthusiasts, nearby trails, ski centers, rivers and lakes offer an abundance of fun recreational opportunities throughout the year.

This convenient location is a 35-minute drive to Burlington and just 20 mins to Middlebury. A 10-minute drive to nearby Button Bay Park and Basin Harbor Resort on the shores of Lake Champlain. 35-minute drive to Mad River Glen Ski Area, 50-minute drive to Sugarbush Resort, and just 35 minutes to the Middlebury Snow Bowl.

There is off-street parking for one car in the driveway. Additional on-street parking is available right in front of the building (please note overnight street parking is not allowed from Dec. 1- April 1). There is EV parking across the street.

This is an old house, built in 1870, and it comes with the old house quirks. The floors have some slope to them, not all the doorframes are square. Basically, it has the character of a house that was built over 150 years ago. Please note that the building is located right in the downtown, and across the street from the fire department. There are the expected sounds that go along with being in a small but busy town, including traffic, trucks, plows, etc. Although the fire sirens go off occasionally, it doesn't seem to happen more than once every few days, and very rarely at night.

We were able to walk to coffee shops and shopping. In the mornings we went for a three mile walk through town and next to Otter Creek. Vergennes is a very quaint small "city". Located among the trees on a quiet, dead-end country road. Sweeping views of Camels Hump and Sugarbush mountains are a short walk down the road.

The 1st floor bedroom has a new queen bed. The upstairs enclosed loft has 2 new single beds that can be converted to a king bed upon request. (Steep ladder stairs leading to the loft make it unsuitable for young children and people with mobility concerns).

Cottage Room (Dog friendly) is a suite with a rustic cottage feel, cathedral ceilings, one large bedroom with a queen and comfortable fold down couch, optional single bed, eat-in kitchen with: microwave, electric kettle, toaster, toaster oven, dishes and more. Shower bathroom. Both our Family and Cottage Rooms are great for friends and family and groups of several people. Children two and older are considered adults for purposes of charging. Children under two are free. AC, TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and more. Attention: Please be aware that our Family and Cottage Rooms are dog friendly. A credit card must be provided. Guests are responsible for any pet damage or extra cleaning and agree to let the owners charge for these at their discretion. Outside the room dogs must be leashed at all times. The room can experience some road noise. there is a courtyard with a firepit, pergola with sails, gas grill, half court basketball. Free range chickens on grounds.
