Heritage Lodge was just finished in 2014 and is located in Southern Iowa, just minutes from Lake Rathbun. The lodge has all the modern amenities you would expect and more, but tucked away in the quiet, serene countryside. The living area features high ceilings, an 80" flat screen TV over the wood-burning fire place, pool table and is large enough to accommodate the largest of families. All 4 bedrooms have queen size beds with a single bunk on top. There is a full kitchen, washer/dryer facility and 2 large bathrooms. Relax on the large patio and light a fire in the fire pit. Explore the great outdoors and enjoy the wildlife on the walking paths! Hang out by the shared private lake which has your own private beach and private dock. There are three kayaks available.

The kids spent a lot of time at the pond, fishing and using the kayaks, they had so much fun. The pond wasn’t the cleanest but what pond is by mid-July in Iowa - no complaints from our group! We spent a lot of time by the pond. The whole property was beautiful! The property was close to Rathbun Lake, very easy to get to. We absolutely loved our stay at Heritage 1865 and hope to go back there again!"

I have a small log cabin located in the rolling hills of northern Missouri. It’s a nice quiet place for a weekend getaway. Most days you can watch wildlife travel across the open area on the front lawn. The cabin has a loft with a queen bed and full bed. Access to the loft is by ladder type stairs. Not far from a couple small towns for groceries. Several lakes within 30 miles if fishing or kayaking is desired. A few walking trails on the property and lots of scenic gravel roads to just drive around and explore. I have added an extra space in the basement it’s basically set up as it’s very own apt with everything the upstairs has kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom so if 2 couples would like to get away together the extra space can also be rented for an extra cost. It’s been brought to my attention that some where this states not suitable for children (not sure why) children are welcome. That being said I do not have a playground area set up yet but there are plenty of outdoor activities for them such as nature walks and exploring.

When I rented the house I didn't realize the hosts lived in the upstairs. Thankfully, they said they couldn't hear the racket the girls made as they wrestled and we did not hear the hosts either. After returning home, I asked the girls what was their favorite part of the weekend. Of course #1 was sewing, our whole purpose for the weekend, but their next choice was playing with the hosts' bulldog! The hosts were wonderful and made us feel at home. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing weekend. I would stay at this rental again. Thanks!"

The City Loft located at K4C Premier Cottages is a two story city escape. Featuring an open concept studio floor plan the City Loft is contemporary meets industrial. Located off of Highway 65 our cottages are easily accessible with no thru traffic. The main level hosts the living are with a sleeper sofa, a full kitchen, a Smart TV for your entertainment. In the second story of the City Loft, you will find 2 queen beds and a set of twin over twin bunk beds making this cottage perfect for travelers with a large family or group.

The lodge is a great getaway for anyone and can accommodate individuals, couples, families, wedding or hunting parties, etc. Add our "Bunk House" and sleep 8 more with it's separate but complete quarters only available as an add on by contacting host. Rathbun Lake fun or ample public hunting within 5 minutes of lodge, also multiple wedding venues in the area just minutes away. In the middle of Amish country with it's many shops to visit.

- "You could not ask for more beautiful place on the lake with walking paths and privacy. The accommodations for enjoying the outdoor space was great. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing. We caught several small fish but we eventually found some large Crappies bass, and catfish. It was one week of total relaxation and heaven."

Fernwood was purchased in June 2018 from Mercer County and rehabilitated by local residents Karla Meinke and Sydney Arnold. The building was erected in 1921 as the Mercer County Hospital.
Since then, this property has been utilized for various purposes including weddings, receptions, family reunions and camping!
The property is nestled on 6 acres, with a gorgeous oak grove and beautiful well maintained grounds. We have 17 bedrooms available for guest needs, which are adorned with antique furniture and an inviting decor.
