Cleaning/Checkout: Checkout is 11:00 am. Late checkout is $100/hour. We do a thorough cleaning after each guest’s stay. We kindly ask that before leaving, you place dishes in the dishwasher and start it, start a load of towels in the washing machine, and take out all trash. This helps our cleaning process and keeps cleaning costs down. Leave the home basically as you found it when you arrived.

Restrooms: Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet, including wet wipes and flushable wet wipes.

Lost Items: Please do not forget anything in the home. Unfortunately, we cannot package and ship things that are left behind.

A Mountain Rose is a cozy, two bedroom home in the magnificent pines and cedars of Pollock Pines in the Sierra Mountains. The trees are bountiful, and their smells are relaxing and refreshing! We do allow up to 2 well-behaved pets with prior approval & extra pet fees. (We abide by El Dorado County's Vacation Home Rental laws. VHR PERMIT #07282

Our home is located two miles from Hwy 50 and about 50 miles from both Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe. Just a quick drive to the famous Apple Hill area or Placerville.

Our little house in the woods is a great place for a romantic getaway, families, or friends. It is decorated in a fashion to make everyone's stay feel extra special. It's not like a musty old cabin in the woods. Our hardwood floors help to make our home even more charming. We have complimentary WIFI for those who just can't leave technology at home. We consider long-term rentals. Please come and enjoy the relaxation and smells of the pines after a day of adventure and fun!

Our well-stocked kitchen is a delight to prepare meals for family and friends. You may enjoy eating at our breakfast bar or at our dining room table that may be extended for larger groups. Maybe you would enjoy BBQing and eating outside instead? There are tables both in the front and backyards. It is so relaxing to eat and chat outside.

At A Mountain Rose, we have many activities for the family, including an array of board games, croquet, air hockey, and even a ping-pong table. We have a smart TV and offer many DVDs for your enjoyment. Just a short walk away, there is a great playground & disc golf course. There is something to keep everyone busy!

Nearby is the very popular Sly Park Recreation Area with the beautiful Jenkinson Lake. It has 645 acres of surface water and great fishing opportunities. The lake has a boat launch and a boat rental facility. (Kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and row boats) Of course, if you want to bring your own boat, we have plenty of parking. Swimming and water skiing are allowed, but personal water crafts are not. In the winter, you may go snow shoeing, sledding, or just play in the snow. It's just a spectacular setting for many outdoor activities!

For the Apple Hill (Camino) lovers, we are less than ten miles from this special area! In April, there is the Apple Blossom Festival. In the summer, there is the cherry and berry harvest. In the fall months, the traditional harvest season is in full swing. You can enjoy the cornucopia of fruits, ciders, vegetables, wines, baked goods, and homemade preserves. Of course, in winter, you can start your own family traditions as you cut down your own Christmas tree and enjoy the magic in the air! Oh, I forgot, you may want to visit a local winery and bring some back to enjoy!

Do you love snow skiing? Then, you'll be glad to hear that we're about 35 miles from Sierra at Tahoe or about 50 miles from Heavenly Mountain Resort.

We are about 15 miles from the charming historical 'Gold Rush' town of Placerville. It is a peaceful blend of old and new that offers something for everyone. There is a lot to do, and you can easily spend the day exploring the area.

If you're into gambling, then Red Hawk Casino is about 20 miles away. They have slot machines, gambling tables, restaurants, and entertainment.

THE SPACE

Located on a beautiful forested green belt, this home is conveniently located only 5 minutes from US 50. This is very helpful during the snowy weather because it is on one of the first streets to be plowed, making access easier. Ample parking and level entry makes accessing the home incredibly easy for older and younger guests. While there are homes to each side, the view from most rooms is a verdant forest with abundant wildlife.

Wicker Moose Manor is a spacious 3,600 square feet, so there's plenty of room for multiple families. The house has two living rooms each with wood and pellet burning stoves, comfortable seating, large windows that bring in plenty of natural light, and televisions. Upstairs has a large wall mounted flat screen, as well as downstairs, where board games, foozeball and a shuffle table are kept. There are two master bedroom suites, both with windows, private bathrooms with plenty of light and large mirrors, and closet space. The home has many electrical outlets, so there is no fighting for a space to charge your devices. Pocket doors allow you to close off a room to keep the noise down in other parts of the home. The kitchen, dining room, and upstairs master all have sliding glass doors enabling you to bring the outdoors in. The back deck has plenty of space for you to sit and listen to the creek and the birds fluttering about. Breathe in the fresh, crisp mountain air and relax!
The garage is perfect for storing your outdoor gear like kayaks, fishing gear, ice chests, bikes, and skiis or snowboards. The backyard is ideal for sledding, and the house has sleds for you to use in the garage.
During the winter, the central heating system keeps the house at a comfortable 65 degrees, but nothing beats a fire on a snowy night. There is firewood and wood pellets on site for your convenience as well. During the summer the whole house fan keeps the home comfortable after the sun sinks behind the trees. Only occasionally does Wicker Moose Manor experience uncomfortably hot nights, but no worries - the house has a central heating and air conditioning system.

Our guests will have access to the entire property, including the garage. The driveway can fit many cars depending on their size. Our backyard is a forested hill with a small stream at the bottom. It's just steep enough for sledding but not steep enough to be dangerous. Deer, Turkeys, Jack Rabbits, and other wildlife are frequent visitors. Security cameras are present on this property.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

Assistance will be available via cell phone if you have any questions or concerns. Host lives in the neighborhood and can be on site within minutes if needed. She will contact you the morning of your trip with the weather, traffic, and highway conditions (if any) and again after check-in. Please feel free to contact the host with any questions or concerns.

Snow! If your are staying with us between November and March there will likely be snow on the ground. Please carry chains or use a 4 wheel drive because the weather can be unpredictable and getting stuck is never fun. Buy chains before driving up here when winter storm conditions exist so you do not have to pay the marked up prices. We have a driveway plowing service but in case you get snowed in and need to leave in a hurry there is a snowblower and shovels in the garage.
Occasionally there will be wildlife exploring the property, please give these animals their space. Usual neighborhood guests include but are not limited to; Deer, Turkeys, Jack Rabbits, Squirrels, Ravens, Bats, Coyotes, Skunks, Foxes, Raccoons, and Possums. Wicker Moose Manor is an ideal spot for bird watching, there are many bird species that frequent the property. Please stay away from these animals, they are wild and could possibly hurt you. Do not attempt to pet or take a selfie with the wild animals.

Mandatory enforcement of county wide quiet hours. 10pm- 8am noise outside will need to be 55dBA or less, about the same noise level as an outdoor conversation.

- "This cabin is just perfect. The living room has the best feel with the windows big to see out during the day. Loved the fireplace heater and rooms were great. Rec room is fun . Everything you need is there and store is nearby for groceries. Cabin has all the nice touches and very comfy . We cooked alot and noticed maybe the kitchen couid use some bigger skillet or cooking pan but we brought one . The outside grounds are beautiful and having the fenced dog run was so nice to have. This may be our new spot for our yearly trip !!"

Welcome to Cedar Pines Cabin! We hope you can be one of our first guests! Our rustic 1100 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath home is perfect for a couple with children or a few friends to enjoy a getaway in the woods of gorgeous Pollock Pines. Our cozy cabin features cedar walls, a wood burning stove, an automatic backup generator and an outdoor gas firepit.
Maximum (4) adults and 1 child five years old or younger. Further details below.

Surrounded by the pines at 4000 ft we get the best of both seasons with a fair amount of snow in the winter and a place to escape the heat in the summer. Just under an hour to Lake Tahoe and 45 minutes to Sierra at Tahoe. And, less than a 10 minute drive to Jenkinson Lake and only a 35 minute trip to Ice House Reservoir to enjoy some of the best trout fishing around.

We have a large open deck with a propane firepit to keep you warm on the starry nights, an outdoor dining table and a propane grill.

If you need to do laundry, we have a new Samsung high capacity washer and a dryer. We also have a portable air conditioner for the summer months that is installed in the living room along with an air purifier. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans.

We offer free Netflix on our 65" smart tv, great wi-fi and the cell signal is surprising good in the area. Incredibly quiet, serene and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

100% of all cleaning fees (usually more) are paid directly to our professional cleaner. We do not keep any portion of the cleaning fees.

Please note: During the winter we can get heavy snow. Chains and/or 4WD may be necessary. Guests have access to the entire home. Limit of two cars in the summer and only one in the winter please.

Please note we do not allow any pets/animals. We take the well being of all our guests personally and adhere to the strict allergen-free safety guidelines set forth. For this reason, we do not allow pets/animals inside or on the property for the health and safety of all our guests who will be staying at Cedar Pines Cabin. Guests that fail to follow this house rule will be fined $100 per night along with any additional cleaning/sanitizing fees.

We love to cook and appreciated having the basics. No snow this time. The cabin is tucked away on a quiet street (road a is a little rough and tumble but completely manageable; for future families- if there had been snow we would have stuck with our SUV rental rarher than a minivan to make sure we made it up and down the hill). We were close to groceries and just a short trip down the hill to shopping in placerville. Our host was quick to communicate, which was extremely helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely be back for future family visits. Thank you for opening your home to us."

Once-upon-a time, this was a one room hunting cabin. The cabin was updated in circa 1960 to a two bedroom and has a full bathroom, kitchen and laundry room. The location is fantastic! It's conveniently located just off HWY 50 one exit past the Sly Park Exit coming from Placerville. Merely 15 min to Jenkinson Lake at Sly Park Recreation Area and a short commute to Sierra at Tahoe for skiing. There is a Safeway grocery store, True Value and restaurants, all within 5 minutes of the cabin. We offer you basic essentials for your stay like fresh linens, towels, shampoo, conditioner body lotion, hand and dish soap, and some basic pantry items. For the safety of our guests and our home, we have installed exterior cameras - one is connected to the doorbell of the home, and the other is above the garage facing the driveway. They are 24/7 motion-activated and record video and sound. A noise monitoring device is also in a common area of the home. This captures noice decibel levels only and does not capture conversations.

- "We were amazed by how clean and well stocked this house was. Everything we could have needed or wanted was there! And the host was super responsive and helpful. The parking can be tricky, but I think the information in the property description does a great job of letting you know what to expect ahead of time. This cozy 3 bed 2 bath cabin is located near wineries, breweries, Ski resorts, near South Lake Tahoe and hike away with lake access to Jenkinson Lake that offers rentals (Kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and row boats). The back deck faces miles and miles of forest with hiking trails.

Also located near Apple Hill, cute historic old downtown "Gold Rush" Placerville that offers diverse dining and shopping.

If you're into gambling, the Red Hawk Casino is near by with plenty of slot machines, gambling tables, restaurants and entertainment.

Your furry friends are also welcome at $20 per night.

SNOW!!! It may snow during winter and you might need to clear the driveway of show using the supplied shovels. We live in a main road that gets plowed, but at times, the show berm might need to be removed. We do our best to clear the driveway, but the weather and snow accumulation aren't always predictable. Always be prepared by having extra warm clothing, gloves, and snacks. If you do not have a 4WD, bring chains. At times, the electricity may be interrupted in severe weather due to downed power lines. Same in summer. Since we are in a highly wooded area, PGE ma find it necessary to turn the power in the summer for fire safety concerns.

You will need a car

Park in top parking lot and walk down steps if you do not have a 4 wheel drive car. In the winter, you will most likely need a 4wd to get to the home. Be careful in the winter as much of the road will be icy, and the steps may be icy as well.
Parties/Noise: In order to respect the neighbors and our quiet neighborhood, we do not allow parties in the house, and we kindly ask that things are kept on the quieter side after 10:00 pm.

Number of Guests: There will be a fee of $25 for each guest over 6 unless discussed with us, even if the person does not stay the night. This is to prevent parties.

Check-Out: Check-out is before 11:00 am. There will be a fee of $100/hour for late checkouts. Please let us know about the time you plan to check out so we can pass this information on to the housekeepers. We kindly ask that prior to leaving, place any dishes in the dishwasher and take out all the trash. This helps us keep the cleaning cost down. Leave the home basically as you found it when you arrived.

Restrooms: We kindly request that only toilet paper be flushed down the toilet. Wet wipes, including those labeled as flushable, should not be flushed as they can clog the sewer system.

Food Items: Please refrain from disposing of food in the garbage disposal.

Smoking: Our house is a non-smoking home. There will be no smoking of cigarettes or weed inside the house or a $300 charge.

Candles: We do not allow candles in the home, this is a fire hazard.

Damage: We understand that accidents happen. We ask that you please let us know when something is broken so that we can replace or repair it. There is a stain remover under the sink in the kitchen for the carpet and bedding.

Pets: Pets are allowed with a $100 per pet, non-refundable fee. No more than two (2) pets are allowed. Please alert us prior to your stay if you are planning on bringing along your pet. All pets must be fully potty trained, and not track mud or dirt into our home; please clean your pet's feet if they are dirty/muddy prior to allowing them in the home. Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture, including the beds. Keep the bedroom doors closed that are not being used. We shall not be held responsible in any way for anything that may happen to your pet. Please note, there will be an additional $100 fee for any animal waste found on the property after you leave. Please note that the pets are not to be left alone at the home.

Longer Stays: For stays exceeding 30 days, a mandatory cleaning service is required at the guest's expense. This ensures that the accommodation is well-maintained throughout longer stays. The cleaning fee will be charged to the guest.

Lost Items: Please do not forget anything in the home. We can not package and ship things that are left behind.

Cameras: We have a Ring Video Doorbell camera installed at the entrance for safety.

Utilities: We kindly ask that you switch off lights and turn off AC/heater when not in the home.

Trash Removal: Please put trash cans on the curb Tuesday evening for Wednesday morning pickup, and bring them back to the right side of the home Wednesday afternoon.

Please do not unplug anything in the home. It is difficult for the next guest if lamps are unplugged, and there are items in the home that operate the door lock and doorbell. If you don’t know what it is, do not unplug it. Do not unplug the wireless router or modem or it will shut down the door lock and you may get locked out.

- "- There was a gas leak at the furnace requiring heater to be shut off - Hot tub water was green on our arrival - Lights in the outdoor bar weren’t working - Lighting on outdoor staircase werent working (we had to unload our suitcases down dark stairwell) - Owner was quick to respond but only partially addressed issues. He sent someone to clean hot tub but she came after dark and we never saw her. No one checked in with us to explain why water had been green or explain what was done to ensure our safety. On 2nd day of our stay found HVAC contractor working on furnace. 2 hours before I was sent a message in app to inform me he was coming but I hadn’t seen the message so it was a surprise to find a contractor there. Contractor told me someone had complained about gas smell. He said unit would not be safe to run the remainder of my stay until parts to fix it came in. Owner messaged me afterward saying we would need to use the space heaters and stove to heat the house because gas valve was leaking. When I later complained I didn’t feel he took our safety seriously and had let us check in with a suspected gas leak he denied there was a gas leak at all. He never sent anyone to look at the lighting issues and previous review mentions this as well so seems like longstanding issue. He never offered to compensate us. Only offer was a late check out (free for him). We ended up checking out a day early since weather was bad, we had no heater and didn’t feel safe in the hot tub."

- "Although the cabin was nice inside, it's literally connected to the owners house, which is in no way indicated in the ad. It's his guest house. We were really looking for seclusion and "privacy" as advertised. So bummed. We ended up leaving a day early since the owners kids were running around the area pictured with the fire pit, which is really his front yard. And every time we went outside his dogs started barking non-stop. Please do your research!!"
