Our cabins are in the country. Although we spray for bugs, you may see them. You will also see critters such as deer, rabbits, and geese.

Bring your sunscreen and bug spray. Being near the lake mosquitos may be present.

We permit ONE vehicle per cabin and do not have parking available for boats, trailers, or RV's at this time.

Nevada Irrigation District owns Rollins Lake Reservoir. Several campgrounds are nearby, with boat launches and trailer parking. Orchard Springs Campground would be the closest to our Resort.

Outside guests are not permitted.

- "First off, it was over 800 with all the added little feed. We went there to be by the lake. Brought my daughter and her new dog. I texted them before I got there, asking about the lake. No response. When I got there I see why they ignored my text. They're draining the lake for the summer. There was no beach. Just all rock and it wasn't safe to jump in where we were because the water was so low. If you have a boat, this place is good for you.I liked the pool area. But there's caution tape blocking the hot tub that isn't in order. My daughter actually cried. Although she's a teenager and emotional, I get it. She wanted to go home after walking down that dreadful hill to Lake Disappointment. "

Completely remodeled 1 bedroom and 1 beth located on Main St in Downtown Foresthill. The Cottage can sleep a maximum of four. The bedroom has one queen bed and the sofa has a sofa bed. The bathroom has a standup shower with beautiful glass and stone shower in the border. The cottage has a full kitchen with a stove , microwave, and refrigerator. The Cottage is in town and in walking distance from most wedding sites and local fun. We have WiFi!

As seen in Sunset and Dwell Magazines, the Lotus Lake House is a completely 'green' exclusive home designed by the award-winning architect Michelle Kaufmann. Its sleek & modern with accordian-style glass walls that completely open to the deck and views of the lake. Lots of windows and cool welcoming tones. We are completely off-grid and have been awarded 'Build it Green' and 'Keep the Sierra Green' certification.

We're situated on 7 acres of private forested property. We cleared just enough trees to have fabulous views of Rollins Lake or instead of just gazing, hike the private trail from the deck to the lake and hop in the canoe we provide guests. With the glass 'Nano' walls open to the outdoors - indoor and outdoor living is blended. No neighbors or other structures in sight! Just the Sierra Mountains, trees, deep blue water, deer, owls, raptors and the ocassional honking geese.

Whether you are on the deck sipping coffee and watching the beautiful sunrise over the mountains, reading, sipping a drink at sunset or star gazing at night, the experience is magical.

Our home is ideally suited for a romantic get-away, or for a couple of good friends or close family members who just need a retreat from the stresses of daily life. Sit on the deck and enjoy the water activity during the summer, swim in the lake or come off season when it's absolutely still. Ideal for writer/artist retreat. Only earth-friendly products are used so it's perfect for people with chemical sensitivities.

- "Relaxing very beautiful place" - "The property was beautiful, not to far from the city of Colfax or Grass valley but far enough for some peace and quiet. The walk down to the water was pleasant, not to far and not a steep walk. Overall a great experience" - "It is an intimate romantic place just perfect for a couple. We were really looking forward to using the canoe in the lake. On the walk down to the lake there’s a really cool path except for one thing. TICKS. We’re used to having to pull ticks off of our dog after hiking, usually just one or two. Not here though, when we got to the bottom of the path there were no less than 20 ticks on my dog. I had to pull them all off not to mention a few on me, and then carry my dog back up the hill which sucked. The thing is, someone else mentioned this in the reviews and I really wish I heeded their advice. I don’t think it’s fair to ding the property because we encountered the same exact problem when we hiked Malakoff Diggins, it’s really just a grass valley thing, but please if you love your dog do not hike down to the lake. Ok now that that’s out of the way, the rest of the stay was so wonderful. When we couldn’t find the cushions for the outdoor furniture we messaged Tod who resolved the problem quickly and was very communicative. Even though it got down to 39 outside at night it was very comfortable inside. During the day being able to open all the doors was really cool. Oh one more thing that is in no way the fault of the property but there are some annoying wakeboarders who blast really loud basically strip club music during the day on Saturday. Not exactly super peaceful, but overall loved our stay!"

This property is located in the heart of Alta in a quiet wooded setting. It is a great base for hiking, fishing and skiing in the Tahoe basin. It is 30 minutes from Boreal Ski resort and 45 min from Truckee. We have a huge deck with a BBQ, great for relaxing while having a cup of coffee, or just visiting with family and friends. Plenty of room around the property for the kids and a fire pit to enjoy at night. There is also access to a community pool in Dutch Flat 5 minutes away. This cabin was built in 2010 as my parents summer home and has all the comfort and conveniences. Owners live on site in the separate main house.

- "My husband and I came to the Sacramento area to visit friends. Staying at the Herron Cottage provided us with a restful oasis after very full days of sightseeing. I especially loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings - very quiet with occasional bird sounds (you can hear some traffic noises but they are muffled by all the trees). Sitting in the recliners in the living room at the end of the day was so comfortable. I love how the home is decorated- lots of wood accents make it very warm. The artwork is lovely with carved wooden plates from Germany to colorful paintings. I'm not sure when we'll be back in the area but, when we are, we will definitely try to rent this home again."

Close to Auburn, Colfax and Rollins Lake to the West and Immigrant Gap, Truckee, and Ski Resorts of Sugar Bowl and Boreal to the East. You’ll love my place because it’s a 1,000 sq. ft. house with charming details (rock fireplace, jacuzzi soaker tub), with two bedrooms, large master with king bed and loft with two full beds, on a beautiful forested acreage with easy , 3/4 mile access to I-80, at 3,500 ft. Elevation. Family and Pet friendly!

- "Wonderful stay. House looks small from the outside, but rooms are spacious. Good size kitchen with good space to cook and bathroom with dual sinks, jetted tub and walk in shower. Master bedroom was big, has a sitting area/desk space; King size bed, very comfy. Loft beds 2 full size. also comfy, my daughter loved it up there. Suzan was welcoming, very friendly and attentive to details. Land is beautiful. We had snow during our weekend, needed 4 wheel drive, but was amazing! We all played in the snow, and then enjoyed getting warm by the fire in the home. Suzan welcomed our two dogs (70lb lab and 50lb puppy) with open arms and they loved playing in the snow and had tons of space to run free without bothering others or being in another property. Property is easy to find if you follow Suzan directions (even in the snow). We are looking forward to returning! Wonderful experience and weekend for our family of 3 humans and 2 dogs."

Surrounded by pines and cedars, this beautifully furnished home welcomes the exhausted traveler or escapee from the stress of urban life.
On the ground level, you will have a large private suite complete with a sweet bedroom with a Queen bed, a full bathroom, a cozy living and dining area with a wonderful fireplace and a completely equipped kitchen. It is perfect for a couple at. $200 and during peak seasons. $250/night. Pets are welcome (one only, please) but a $20/night charge/pet/night and pet deposit of $150 is added on (returnable after review). Small children can sleep on couches in front room. The bedroom has its own deck, and there are two decks off dining and living room.
Downstairs is a separate suite with a Queen which is available only for adult guests, desk, Smart TV, and full bath. This is perfect for an additional couple or larger children and offers maximum privacy including its own outside entry and exit.

In the summer, a community pool awaits within walking distance (half a block away). Town is a brisk 15 min walk down the hill the historic Dutch Flat Hotel which may offer a meal (check for current status), and the Monte Vista Inn offers a spectacular local watering hole and fabulous dining experience including breathtaking desserts.
Winter offers snow retreats, snuggling near the fire and maybe some cross-country skiing. Downhill skiing is about 45 min directly up I 80 at Borreal on up further into Tahoe country. With easy access off I 80, this is the perfect location for Sierra adventures.
Hiking, fishing and exploring old gold country haunts and antiquing are just part of the fun.

- "I stayed at Richard's place with two friends for a girls' weekend. It was the perfect spot! Comfortable beds, great kitchen and lots of space to hang out. Really loved the peaceful location -- but do keep in mind that the GPS does not get you there accurately (Richard had warned us and sent us specific instructions). We spent a lot of time at the house and then driving back and forth between it and Nevada City (~30 min drive). The upstairs AC was broken when we were there (downstairs was fine), but we let Richard know and given his responsiveness, I'm sure it will be fixed soon!"

You will be staying in a 27 ft. Prowler travel trailer. It is on a 5-acre lot along with a main house (and some out-buildings) which is about 150 feet away. The nearest neighbor is about 50 feet away. The travel trailer is a 2003, is clean and functional, due to the age we will allow up to 14 nites only. The setting is wooded and serene. Although we've never counted there are probably over 200 trees on the 5 acres, including: Ponderosa pine, Black oak, Canyon live oak, Cedar, Deodar pine, Douglas fir, seasonal flowers and lots of wildlife. The new cleaning protocols are in place for everyone's safety.

BETWEEN THANKSGIVING AND MEMORIAL DAY UNPREDICTABLE AMOUNTS OF SNOW MAKE IT CHALLENGING TO GET TO THIS PROPERTY AND ALSO UP THE STEEP DRIVEWAY WITHOUT CHAINS.
We will work with the proper equipment to remove snow on the driveway prior to and during your stay as necessary. Placer County works to clear the local roads during these conditions.

- "My family and I booked this last minute B&B for Thanksgiving weekend" - "Getting here was a bit confusing, the listing should definitely mention that it’s actually past the “end” sign on the road. I was disappointed to find out that despite being told by the Evolve team that the owner was in a “completely separate unit” they were definitely attached, the owner is right downstairs, you are renting the top half of this split level home. However, the owner was nice through texting communications and did not disturb us in person. There were multiple cars in the driveway which was daunting at first sight, but it appears they were all his. While everything important was clean it was a bit bizarre to see random stuff in the drawers and cabinets that gave this unit the feel of not being completely mucked out before being put on the market, but by no means was this unmanageable, just strange. The most disappointing thing by far is we were given no heads up about the oven not working, and since we had planned out several meals in advance this totally threw us for a loop & unfortunately meant we wasted time and money on groceries for the week. We ended up having to eat a few meals out which was not our intention and bummed us out a lot. This location had incredible views. The hot tub was brilliant and we were thrilled to find it was set to 103 (most rentals I have stayed at leave it much lower so this was appreciated upon arrival and we hopped right in) The home was cute overall and was nice for a little getaway."

- "Our group of five people had a great ski trip based out of Cindy's place in Colfax. It was about an hour drive to the Donner Pass area ski resorts. Cindy was very responsive and easy to communicate with. She did a great job making sure our group was comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the hot tub each evening. Kitchenette is well stocked, and the hot plate and large toaster oven made up for the lack of a range stovetop and full oven. The house is nestled in a beautiful space among the trees and hills of Eden Valley. Great host, great place, highly recommend."

Valley View is an extraordinary property with views galore of the sierras, cape horn and much more. It is also a short drive to Rollins Lake and the Bear River and the best hiking in the world. Close to Tahoe National Forest for skiing, gambling at Thunder Valley or Tahoe...it is an ideal location for live work escape, hiking, getting out of the city without the high costs of Tahoe. Thus is the downstairs unit that faces onto the patio..great for grilling.
