Take a day out Beach Driving

At low tide take advantage of beach driving Rainbow Beach, check out the beautiful coloured sands, and at the point enjoy the nature made lake one side or surf the other for a different day out. From here you can take the Leisha track to the other side of Double Island Point, heading south. Not far south from here, your can take the Freshwater 4WD Track which brings you out 5kms out of Rainbow Beach on the main road in. The freshwater track is an alternative when the tides don't suit or are too high at Rainbow Beach, or simply to spend the day at the point, and travel home on the Freshwater track. Be certain to check with locals the state of the track as sometimes it can have deep sand. Otherwise, a great alternative to the beach, a nice scenic rainforest track.

Rainbow Beach is a relaxing small township, where you can wind down very quickly. Take a good book, and alternate between the beach and the private back yard on a sunlounger with a bush outlook.

- "This is the perfect location, a short 2 minute drive to the town centre and beach, far enough away to feel like you're in the bush. Washer, dryer and good water pressure. Good size fridge and lovely outdoor area. The beds were not the most comfortable but they did the job. Little Parliament on the main strip is the best place for coffee and Signature Sourdough has THE BEST bread I've ever tasted! We will definitely return! The Cooloola Coast is stunning."

Rainbow Surf 1 is located in Rainbow Beach, just 8 miles from Great Sandy National Park and 21 miles from Tin Can Bay Marina. This vacation home offers air-conditioned accommodations with a balcony. - "-position -free from noise except the possum at night in the ceiling swimming at the pools or beach easily accessed walks around the complex and to beach and into town" - "It is a beautifully kept resort. The gardens, tennis court and pools are world class. The unit was a little dated but well kept. We really did expect some basics that were missing, like a bath mat, washing up brush, dish drainer, tea towels and soap for bathroom. Overall a wonderful place to stay in a magnificent part of the world."

The owners were very welcoming and responsive to my questions. There was an issue with the stove top not working, though there was a stand alone fry pan that could be used as an alternate. - "Compact but well fitted out accommodation. One big drawback was only 1 toilet for adults, could have put another toilet in instead of a double shower which no one uses. Internet is hit & miss especially on overcast rainy days!! Penalties for cleaning fees are a bit extreme like35 for not taking garbage out to the bin, takes 2 mins& and not unpacking dishwasher etc. we did do all the cleaning as required so not to sure what your cleaners do for the 4 hrs before check in time?? Overall we had a great time & staff at your office were very helpful and friendly. We will return thank you"

- "Initially we were disappointed that the unit did not overlook the ocean but then realised it was actually one of the best units to have - it overlooks the main street which always has activity happening but is not too noisy. Not being ocean front meant that we did not get the full on ocean wind. We did get afternoon sun on the front deck but it is one of the few apts that has a rear deck as well which we loved. Very convenient to all restaurants/bars and other conveniences as well as the beach. Security parking and secure complex - both easy to access. Nice pool. Apartment had everything we needed and the design was well thought out. The only negative we could find was that there was no iron and ironing board. We really enjoyed this stay and would not hesitate to recommend."

- "We found this to be a very pleasant holiday unit with a beautiful view out over the garden, and a top-floor balcony to catch the breezes. All the bits and pieces needed to make a home for the week were included. The resort complex had a nice pool, and was an easy walk through bushland to the beach. I liked the way it was set just a little out of the main town, as the setting was very quiet and peaceful overall, even during school holidays. I would definitely like to stay there again one day."
