History: Fishing village to charming small resort: Originally a small fishing community, St. Jean - Cap Ferrat has been famous since the 'Belle Epoque' in the 1890's, when King Leopold II of Belgium and Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild built holiday mansions here. In the century since, famous writers and actors such as Somerset Maugham and David Niven made their homes here, and today the Grand Marnier family and Andrew Lloyd Weber own homes on the peninsular.
Having managed to escape the excesses of the 1960's building craze, the entire peninsular is now under preservation order, with beautiful villas set in lush gardens, some of which can be glimpsed from the coastal path. The village itself curves around the harbour, and has retained its provençal charm: house façades in warm terracotta and ochre shades with wooden shutters.

The icing on the cake is the gorgeous green space in the back yard, a large patio with table and chairs encircled by plants and flowers that create a “Garden of Eden”-like ambience; a very relaxing, private and serene little oasis just outside the back door. We were also impressed with the resident concierge, whose thoughtfulness and kindness helped to make our stay a memorable one. In addition, communications sent to and responses by the owners via email were always timely and much appreciated. There are no negatives about this apartment. Our only regrets are that we did not book a longer stay, and that we cannot spend the rest of our days in this little corner of paradise!"

We are less than 100 meters up the road from the luxurious Hotel La Voile d’Or.

La Mignonne is a fully detached house (68m2) with a paved garden (46m2) raised above the road. The garden has an outdoor shower for when you return from the beach or just for cooling off. The garden has recently been re-tiled with marvellous travertine limestone.

There are two double bedrooms upstairs and both have French doors which open directly onto the balcony (7m2). All the rooms are bright, airy and air-conditioned. The house has recently been refurbished throughout including new bathrooms, a new kitchen and new furniture. There is also a dedicated wifi connection.

The ground floor (34m2) has an open plan kitchen living and dining room that opens out directly into the garden. This floor also has a cloakroom with a toilet and a washing machine.

Upstairs (a further 34m2) there are two identically outfitted double bedrooms, a large built-in wardrobe and a bathroom with an Italian shower. The bedrooms each have large French doors opening onto a balcony (7m2) with views towards Beaulieu sur Mer, the hilltop village of Eze and Monaco.

This lovely light east facing centre of village apartment on the top floor of an exclusive gated Résidence with a pool and private garage, has a fantastic sea view overlooking the coastal towns of Beaulieu, Cap D'ail, Monaco and beyond to Italy.

The flat is well furnished and the 3 bedrooms can comfortably accommodate 6 guests. There is also a sofa bed in the living area and pull-out beds in the mezzanine if extra accommodation is required. The open-plan kitchen overlooks the sitting room which leads out on to a lovely terrace with stunning views over the bay.

Two of the bedrooms also lead onto the terrace, which runs along the front of the apartment. Bedroom 1 is a double-bed with an en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 is a double or two singles and has a separate shower room and WC opposite. Bedroom 3 is in the mezzanine, with two single beds and an en suite WC.

As the apartment is on the top floor the ceilings are high, giving a light and airy feel. The mezzanine area is air-conditioned, as is the sitting room, and there are ceiling fans in the other rooms.

It is not two flights- 4 (if you have luggage for a month in Europe and bikes pass on this one) 2. We tried contacting the property manager but we believe she is in Nice. We found two bugs on the bed and informed the VRBO cs person. 9. The fan in the only bedroom is very loud and when turned on we were showered with dust. The only AC is a split in the kitchen 10. The shower is a tub with a rain shower head and No curtain so you will flood the floor I could go on but the property manager was not even aware of VRBO or the listing. She told us to stay at a hotel the next time. Nothing was done for us, but they assured us they would all be take. Care of for others. Hmmm???"
