- "This is just a beautiful, restful, old-fashioned and comfortable hotel, with tasteful touches and kind and helpful staff. I love everything about it. Check-in was great - front desk hosts are so welcoming, and offered suggestions for dinner - a list of restaurants close by that were open on our evening there. There is a complimentary wine tasting in the early evening. Guests can sit in the toasty living room and enjoy a drink with a warm fire burning. The bartender is just very special and was so fun to talk with. The morning breakfast is a REAL homemade meal. It is delicious and offered 3 specials of the day. There is coffee, along with a dozen fancy tea options, fresh fruit, vogurt, homemade pastries, various breads and juice. We had a wonderful breakfast omelet on an English muffin with cheese, asparagus and bacon. This came with the room! Our only cost was a tip for the server and chefs. ALSO - We have a hybrid/electric vehicle. There are two EV charging stations for guests. Very convenient. No extra charge to us for this service. 48 extra EV miles for our trip home. Beds are comfy, bathrooms include robes and luxurious towels. Located in charming Old Town Eureka, it's an easy walk to the heart of shopping, restaurants, the lovely water views and boats. This is our favorite place to stay in Eureka. While it may initially seem like a splurge, when you realize all the special treats given to guests, it's a fantastic deal. "
