Check-in was great - front desk hosts are so welcoming, and offered suggestions for dinner - a list of restaurants close by that were open on our evening there. There is a complimentary wine tasting in the early evening. Guests can sit in the toasty living room and enjoy a drink with a warm fire burning. The bartender is just very special and was so fun to talk with. The morning breakfast is a REAL homemade meal. It is delicious and offered 3 specials of the day. There is coffee, along with a dozen fancy tea options, fresh fruit, vogurt, homemade pastries, various breads and juice. We had a wonderful breakfast omelet on an English muffin with cheese, asparagus and bacon. This came with the room! Our only cost was a tip for the server and chefs. ALSO - We have a hybrid/electric vehicle. There are two EV charging stations for guests. Very convenient. No extra charge to us for this service. 48 extra EV miles for our trip home. We appreciated the full kitchen, fluffy towels and towel warmer that worked quite well, the abundance of chargers and outlets, the French press and coffee as well as the hot, fresh, home made breakfast each morning that came complete with assorted cut fruit, yogurt, orange juice and a tasty hot entree. Access to the lovely garden as well. Service was thoughtful and helpful, lots of information provided as to the month’s local events, and plenty of convenient free parking out front. A+. - "Good value - the room was pretty clean and about as comfortable as one could expect for a Motel 6. The bed was quite mushy and the room had a strong smell of cleaning solvent which didn't diminish over our two-day stay. Despite these quibbles, I think this is the best motel deal in Arcata. I think others complaining in reviews need to get some perspective. No one staying at a Motel 6 should expect Hilton quality lol. We've stayed here several times - this place is fine. "
