This listing is for five bedrooms in the main area of our house. The main floor has two bedrooms and a full bath. There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor — one master bedroom with a full master bath and two bedrooms that share a third full bath. Our kitchen is stocked with major cooking and baking utensils such as pots, pans, measuring cups, etc as well as some specialty appliances such as a KitchenAid mixer, Vitamix blender, and Keurig coffee maker.

Our location is perfect for those looking to explore the North Coast, as it offers easy access to all of the natural attractions in the Humboldt area. A forty-five-minute drive up the coast will bring you to Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, a World Heritage Site home to giant redwoods, waterfalls, and herds of elk. We are also located just ten minutes from the ocean and fifteen minutes from surf. If visiting during the summer months, Willow Creek and Trinity River offer pristine swimming holes. Our house manual contains more detailed information regarding the attractions local to our area.

The house itself is Tudor in style with craftsman elements. I am a retired builder and built the house myself as a home where I could raise my four children. All four are grown now and raising children of their own.

Your booking includes starter amenities such as Keurig coffee cups, propane for the gas grill, shampoos, toilet paper, and laundry detergent. We have a washing machine and dryer downstairs that we invite you to use as needed.

We have a tenant named Andrea who lives in the downstairs lock off with her twelve-year-old daughter. Her apartment is self-contained with its own kitchen, bath, and separate entry. You likely won’t meet one another, but you may see her on her way to and from the house, or when doing laundry. She and her daughter are friendly, so feel free to say hi!

A note on sleeping arrangements: our home sleeps 10 guests comfortably, but can accommodate up to 14 or 15, depending on how willing you are to utilize floor space and common areas. The house has five bedrooms, four of which have cal king mattresses and one of which has a queen. We also have three air mattresses–one queen and two twins. With the air mattresses set up, the house can sleep up to 14, and with the full-length couch in the living room included, we could even feasibly sleep 15. We also have a "pack n play" crib in one of the bedroom closets if anyone is traveling with an infant.

Adjacent to Airstream is beautifully constructed Juniper and Cedar Bathhouse with on-demand hot water and claw foot tub/shower awaits a relaxing moment among the sunny and private meadow and redwoods. The bathhouse is open-air (semi-enclosed and private, similar to campground shower) adjacent to Airstream and is cooler in winter months, but guests love it. The trailer has heating options including radiant heat, a wood stove and comfy bed with warm comforters and electric blankets. According to recent guests, all these options warm up the Airstream nicely. Airstream is fully furnished with towels, soaps, bedding, full kitchen and all you need to bring is your own food and beverage. Also now is our HOT TUB under the Forest Canopy ( shared, just 1-minute walk from Airstream. and there is a sign up for 30-60 private hottub time when you arrive)

Our 47 acre Redwood forested setting provides an ideal place and way to vacation or get away from populated areas during this current time. We ask all of our guests to only arrive healthy and symptom-free. Our extensive cleaning procedures between guest stays meet the highest CDCs Hospitality sanitizing recommendations . There are antibacterial hand soap and Multi-purpose disinfectant cleaner in the rental. At this current time, we provide basic linens, bed spreads and towels, but have removed decorative pillows and blankets. And we are asking all our guests to tumble dry on high heat (approx 20 min) any personal, fabric clothing or additional bedding items before bringing into our rentals.

The barn loft is up a short staircase and very well insulated from farming operations. Reclaimed old-growth wooden details frame the country charm, combined with modern amenities. Heated by a thermostat regulated pellet stove and cooled by a big ceiling fan. Cook your breakfast on the fully restored 1930's Spark gas stove using fresh organic produce and eggs available seasonally for purchase from our farm. The master bedroom sits just off the living room and is equipped with a queen-sized bed and 2 pull out single beds. The couch in the living room also opens into a queen bed. High-speed Wifi is available and T.V. entertainment is located in the office nook. Situated on the north side of the barn, there is a spacious outdoor setting where you can lounge in the sun, climb tree stumps, greet our animals, enjoy a campfire, and take in the scenery. The pool area is fully fenced, with a large built in pool that is about 9 foot deep with a diving board, slide, and basketball hoop. All furniture was full of dust, the fridge was dirty, all windows were dirty/dusty. We were asked to not use shoes inside which we did, and our socks got filthy right away. I was shocked to see that it wasn’t clean, isn’t that why they charge a cleaning fee? The house itself is really pretty, and the neighborhood is very quite."
