Whale watching occurs March through May and depending on the high seas November through December. The arrival of the Aleutian Geese to Castle Island as they migrate north is a spectacular event from February through March. Nature is abundant in Del Norte County all year long and the easy beach access offers our guests the chance to explore tide pools and view spectacular sunsets along Pebble Beach.

Only a short walk to a large City park with great views of the local lighthouse.

Explore the many nearby beaches or take a hike in the redwoods. Jedadiah Smith State Park is very close and has beautiful redwood groves along the pristine Smith River. Crescent City is about 15 miles south of the Oregon border so it's close to many attractions from casinos, to river rafting, to miles of hiking trails and unspoiled beaches.

I couldn’t believe we could hear the sea lions and see the lighthouse light at night from the front yard.❤️ We used the propane fire pit everyday, even roasted marshmallows a few times. We loved our week at this house! It was truly an amazing place."

Enjoy our place at the edge of the redwood forest. One of the best places to relax and enjoy a quiet stay or to get busy with all of the attractions Crescent City and the surround area has to offer. Jedediah Smith National Redwoods for walking and hiking,, Smith River to swim, fish or kayak, visit the ocean and the local harbor where one can book day tours or just enjoy Saturday's farmers market. For the less ambitious, short walks on our non-fenced property might be more your style.

Welcome to Beachfront Studio & Rothbar Puppy Park and wonderful Crescent City, CA.

Beautifully furnished for your comfort and the style of the Pacific Ocean in mind, Beachfront Studio features a one bedroom, one bath studio apartment with a comfortable queen-size bed, an equally relaxing double-size futon/bed, a large sofa and an open-concept living room/kitchen/dining room/sun room with YouTube TV and various movie channels and wireless Internet access.

The apartment has a large kitchen that is fully equipped. The bathroom has a shower/tub and you have access to the laundry room. The property is located on Pebble Beach Drive, with unmatched ocean views from the property or you can head down to the beach - just a short 1/2 block walk away!

Best of all is the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. Directly in front of you lies a grassy area with table and benches to enjoy majestic sunsets, miles and miles of deep blue ocean and sea stacks where you may often see migrating whales and adventurous surfers.

Directly behind of our back yard, we own another piece of property which we call the Rothbar Puppy Park. The puppy park is approximately 1/2 acre that is fully fenced, with a small garden and lots of grass and textures for your pups to explore and enjoy. Within the puppy park is a 10x12 ft. puppy spa with warm water and electricity to bathe and dry your 4-legged friends after a romp on the beach. We accept dogs only. no cats.

When you initially book our apartment, please indicate the number of guests (3–person maximum), the number of beds needed and the number of pets and size of the pets. We allow only dogs, no cats.

There is an additional $25 fee for pets. We have found that our house keeper requires additional time to thoroughly clean the apartment when guests have pets. We appreciate your understanding. This fee will be requested after you have confirmed your reservation.

In addition to these wonderful accommodations, my art studio adjoins the apartment. I use this studio for art classes and to create various art that includes silk painting, fused glass and mosaics. You may make arrangements to participate in a variety of art classes for a nominal fee.

This location is ideal, situated perfectly between the Jedediah Smith State Park and the Redwoods State & National Parks! The space was beautiful and comfortable, with a smart TV logged into several streaming services, and a cozy bed to boot! Rande and Samuel even offered to let our pup out to pee during the day, if we were interested in pursuing a hike that wasn't dog-friendly! They were very generous with their time, showing us around the place and chatting with us without ever feeling imposing, and their little pup park across the alley is both adorable and excellent for a little late night or morning fetch! We really loved this space, and look forward to returning again someday."

For those of you that want to experience a country coastal retreat this is the place for you. Just 5 minutes drive to Kellogg beach this spacious studio is nestled among beautiful horse pastures. Make your way 5 minutes the opposite direction and find yourself at the banks of the serene Smith River, one of the cleanest rivers in the nation with its pristine undamned emerald waters. This river is well known for its seasonal fishing and guides. Towering over the river and surrounding land you'll find the majestic old growth redwoods. Explore the Grove of Titans, and walk among the Largest Redwood Trees in the World. This coastal retreat will be one to remember.

The house was a perfect location within walking distance to the state park in the wonderful Hiouchi café. Lovely garden and would absolutely come back again. Completely renovated 1920’s home with lots of natural light and period architectural and woodwork detail, Redwood Bungalow is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath vacation rental located within walking distance of the ocean and downtown Crescent City.

The house sleeps up to 6 people, 2 in each bedroom and 2 on the full size sofa bed in the living room. The upstairs master bedroom and bath have distant views of the ocean, Battery Point Lighthouse, and the mountains behind Redwood National Park.

Built in 1923, Redwood Bungalow was renovated and the attic converted to a master bedroom in 2019. The fir floors down stairs are original, the upstairs flooring and claw foot bath tub came out of a 1920's farm house. Reclaimed redwood was used for much of the building materials, including the front deck and the interior stair handrail. The redwood shingles are eco-salvaged from a family owned local redwood mill that's been in operation for over 50 years.

The house is conveniently located near downtown and local restaurants and is walking distance to the beach at the south end of Pebble Beach Drive (2-1/2 blocks), Sea Quake Brewery (5 blocks) and Battery Point Light House (6 blocks). Jed Smith State Park, Stout Grove and the Smith River are about a 15 minute drive.

We've done vrbo in the past when we've traveled and really enjoyed having a more home feel to our space and this rental definitely lived up to that. We were able to cook nearly all our meals in the spacious modern kitchen. Plus since we were staying a whole week we were able to do some laundry and it was great for just the two adults. You could easily have a family of four stay here with plenty of space. What we really enjoyed is that we were just 5 minutes drive from a number of beaches, downtown, and other attractions. The space was clean when we came in and the little bit of contact we needed with the manager was fast and efficient. I am definitely considering going back and renting this space again in a couple years. I highly recommend this rental property to any small group or family traveling to Crescent City!"
