I was shocked. Following their directions, I drove through an unfinished building site in total darkness until I reached a cluster of bungalows with no lights, no staff, and no security. As a woman traveling alone, it felt extremely unsafe. I didn’t even get out of the car. Instead, I immediately contacted the property to decline the room and booked a nearby motel where I felt safe."
