The river is RIGHT there, anytime you are outside the calm sounds of the river greet you. And you can walk down to it and dip your toes in, just be careful going down there (Coming up is much easier). We grilled on the deck every night we were there, and there’s multiple places to sit outside and enjoy food, sounds and the shade. I had some of the best sleep ever in recent memory and slept in every morning while my partner enjoyed coffee to herself out on the deck. We are already talking about when we want to come back to stay again. Julie is a wonderful host who let us know immediately that anything we needed would be provided and answered all of our questions. Things to keep in mind:

There is no cell service at the cabin. Phones can be connected via wifi (albeit slower than you may be accustomed to) and there is a landline for use. The cabin is near a little market filled with primarily snacks and camping necessities, but you probably want to get your groceries in a larger town prior to driving to the cabin. Canyonville is the closest town with a grocery store. This cabin is also located in bear and cougar country. Please be alert. Do not let kids roam alone. Be safe when hiking. We also have poison oak on the property. We’ve tried to clear a lot, but you may run into it. There is Tecnu wash in the cabin. The creek supplies all the water in the cabin. Water goes through multiple filtration systems and has been tested safe, but you are welcome to bring your own drinking water if you desire.
Fire season runs throughout the summer months. During this time, it can be hazy. No fire pits are allowed. Please check local news for active fires in the area.
The closest hospital is in Roseburg (about an hour away).

I highly recommend bringing water shoes for traction. The big open yard was also great for games of football, baseball, frisbee, and croquet. Please read below for details about the occupancy. We are nestled in the country between Roseburg and Glide. This updated studio is clean, restored, and sits atop a 50's cabin. This is a shared guest property, and the parking and entrances are completely separate! You can open the window and listen to the creek, or sit on the porch and look at the forest and animals who come through. We are on the way to the North Umpqua river, many hiking trails, waterfalls, and Crater Lake. We would be happy to have you!
We love traveling with our kids! This space is small, but we purchased a fold out queen couch. We can provide extra bedding if you have kiddos with you. We listed this as four person occupancy to try and accommodate a couple with one or two small children and/or infants. We don't have anything to safely accommodate an infant, but you are welcome to bring your own.
There is a nice area in front of the property to sit and enjoy the trees. You can go in the backyard, but the creek isn't accessible just yet. There is much to be done back there!

Drive safely! There are so many different types of wildlife on this road--especially deer. Enjoy the slow country drive, turn into the driveway and cross a bridge into nature!
You are out in the country, but if you drive approximately 20 miles West, you will be right in the middle of Roseburg Wine Country. If you drive about 15 miles East, you are at the gateway to the North Umpqua river, fishing, endless hikes to waterfalls and Crater Lake National Park!
