(check your height if you have anything on top of your vehicle before you pull in ) Perfectly located just off of hwy 62 it's 20 minutes to Medford and the airport one way, 20 minutes to lost creek lake and 60 minutes to Crater Lake the other way. Even though we are in a rural setting it's about 5 minutes to Shady cove or 6 minutes to Eagle Point if you need supplies to cook up a little something in the kitchenette. Sit on any of the patios in the evening looking out over the large pond and if you are really lucky the elk herd will be grazing in the pasture. You are also welcome to use the super large patio and the bbq on the back of the main house.
Wander through the ever expanding flower gardens-there is always something blooming usual and unusual. If it is the right time of year you may be able to visit the vegetable garden and get some fresh picked veggies for dinner.
We do have a fire pit available for an extra fee which includes a s'mores kit and blankets to use while you relax in the evening.
Southern Oregon has many things to offer when it comes to a vacation. Nearby you can hike upper and lower table rock trail and mill creek falls. There are jet boat trips nearby and in Grants Pass. Just a short trip to Crater Lake, make sure you stop at Becky's for awesome Pie and visit the natural bridge along the way.

This is a working sheep farm. There will be farm noises-sheep baaing, livestock guardian dogs barking, farm equipment noise which can start as early as 6:00 am in the summer. There is always something going on, a farm project, gardening, wool processing. We retire super early most days and are up super early. It is not unusual for Karen to be in the barn at 4 am and any time of night during lambing time. Make sure to visit the Farm store that showcases the wool and wool products and art giftables.
Southern Oregon and Northern California now, unfortunately, have forest fires regularly in the summer and fall. We do not offer refunds on stays due to forest fire smokey conditions or weather incidents.
We do have security cameras located through out the exterior of ALL buildings on the property and on the interior of the barns. Any tampering with the router or internet or thermostat will result in a 250.00 fee. Charging of electric vehicles will result in an additional 15.00 fee

We had our dogs with us and wanted a home where they could go outside and stretch (and play!) since they were cooped up in the car for so long. The backyard was just perfect for them. For us humans we couldn't have been more pleased with the cleanliness, comforts, and decor of the home, the layout, the nicely stocked kitchen, and all of the seating and sleeping areas with their own TVs. Bonus points to the owners for providing dog bowls and a doggie sofa and blanket for the pups. That was very thoughtful. From now on, any road trip to/from Oregon will include an overnight stay at this home. We would even plan our trip around this home's availability!"

Meander your way down a private lane lined with blackberries and large shade trees, to the Blue Gate Cottage. Established since 1910. The cottage is a studio style with full kitchen (no oven). Comfortable sitting area to relax and enjoy the peaceful nature of this location. Cottage is very well appointed with everything you need for a restful getaway. There is a automatic gate & a 1 mile gravel road to the property.
The Rogue River is a mere 75 yards from the front door. The side nearest is fairly shallow for wading. the deep fishing hole, (the beginning of Salmon Alley) is on the far side of the river. There is some sort of fishing year round on the Rogue, such as Salmon, Steelhead and trout. There is a lodge close by on the property as well, if you have a large group these can be incorporated together for reasonable but additional costs. (VRBO#1857863). There is another rarely occupied residence very close by but behind a row of trees, The way the homes are situated on the property you still have your privacy. You will feel as though you are miles away from all life's stresses.
while we do allow pets, we do charge an additional fee of $50...there has been a problem with pet hair on the furniture, which takes twice as long to clean...so if you have a pet keep them on the floor or there will be an additional furniture cleaning fee. many places don't even allow pets for this reason, but we figure that if you left him at home you'd have a kennel fee so paying an additional fee here is a way to spread out the responsibility. many thanks.

- "After turning off HWY 234 and entering the gate code, there is a mile or more of one lane gravel road through woods leading to an intersection with a sign with an arrow pointing to Rushing River Lodge - take that fork. Another quarter mile and you are there, cottage on the right with the River in the distance. Fully equipped with all you really need, with the possible need of a larger pan for cooking pasta and a larger frying pan. We would like to return."

This historic lodge & 4 cabins were built in 1910 on the best fishing hole on the Rogue River. The cabins are now vacation homes & rarely occupied. There is nothing like this lodge, it has been modernized with insulation, new windows, central heating & air. It is surrounded by undeveloped land, there is total quiet privacy. The only sounds are from the river, Canada Geese & a pair of Great Horned Owls that nest in the woods. It is a mile from the paved road through a electric security gate.
RUSHING WATER says it all, the lodge has something for everyone. The main lodge is located at the beginning of "salmon alley". There is some kind of fishing all year round; salmon, steelhead or trout. Walk out on the main deck & there's the river.
FAMILIES love the space with wading on this side of the river and fishing on the other. There are beds for 6 persons to sleep alone and if there are couples there is room for 10. There is also a fully equipped studio cottage near by at extra cost that has a queen bed, for grand parents maybe. (VRBO#2469569).
OUTDOORS there is a huge deck with tables, chairs & extra folding tables to accommodate a large gathering. Even a lawn swing from the 1920's.There is a fenced dog yard on one side & lots of room for fido to safely roam around the park like acreage chasing the squirrels.
INSIDE THE LODGE there is a fully equipped kitchen with a corner breakfast nook with a wide view of the river. A 8' dining table to seat the whole family.The living room has lots of seating where you can relax after a fun day & watch a wide screen TV with a internet connection for Netflix & Utube. There is even a authentic Grizzly Bear wall mount that has been there for generations.
UNIQUE SPACE, you'll be amazed the property, its the most serene, magical place you'll want to invite all your friends to come visit you to share the experience. There are fishing poles to use and blackberry buckets in season.
GUEST ACCESS; There is lots of adjacent acreage too walk around, while the other cabins are usually empty, respect their space when you're out browsing about if you see cars there.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS: Dick & Patty live in San Diego, but have kids & grandkids in the Rogue Valley; two are general contractors and only minutes away. If there is an emergency you can call them for ASAP issues or Dick & Patty for general questions.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD: The lodge is isolated, down a power-gated, one mile long gravel driveway, but Walmart is only 12 minutes away. Going north on hwy 234 Rainey Corner is 1 1/2 miles away with gas station, country grocery, cafe & a feed & grain store. EAGLE POINT is the nearest community with the Walmart, Carls Junior, numerous other eating & shopping possibilities. there is a welcome book in the lodge that describes all the interesting places & things to do in the valley; from Crater Lake, Shakespearean Theater, Brit music festival, historic Jacksonville, Oregon Caves, wine tasting, river rafting, fishing guides etc. etc.
TRANSPORTATION is limited to your vehicle, there is no other possibility except Uber or some other taxi service. Medford & the airport are 30 minutes away.
OTHER THING TO NOTE : the cottage adjacent to the lodge may be occupied at the same time as the lodge, but it has its own deck space and is off to the side, out of view from the lodge deck and windows. Though someone might be down at the river fishing at the same time. A NOTE ABOUT PETS..while we do allow pets, we have had to add a cleaning fee of $100 to the $200 cleaning fee on the website. most dogs shed a lot on the carpet and the cleaners have to spend extra time dealing with that... additionally if there is dog hair all over the furniture & beds there will be an additional charge for that. (We had to throw away a blanket that was so full of hair that it couldn't be cleaned). Kenneling pets is expensive and bringing them along is way more fun, we just need to balance the expenses so that every body is happy. thanks for understanding
WEDDINGS & LARGE GROUPS: we've had a number of inquiries about this; there isn't enough parking & the septic system isn't designed for this type of use, so the maximum number of guests is limited to 10.

They are extremely friendly and we don’t mind guest interaction but will also respect guests who don’t desire to have them present. Their names are Kenai, Knylah, and Teeka

She is one of those people who take hospitality seriously, and she went out of her way on numerous occasions to be helpful and kind, often without our asking. It was wonderful!!! The pool is the highlight of the property and it is quite lovely. The air conditioning was much appreciated too, as it was 110 degrees while we were there. There were all sorts of thoughtful amenities around the house, which our kids particularly enjoyed."

The space The cottage, built in 1926 and, though greatly cared for, shows its age in some places. It sits adjacent to the historic 250 acre Hillcrest Orchard estate on the outskirts of Medford. A rural feel but close to many amenities. RoxyAnn Winery is right next door. Approximately 10 miles to the Britt Festival Pavilion and 14 miles to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. Crater Lake is only a 1 1/2 hour drive. We are the perfect halfway point between Seattle and the Bay Area Other things to note: This space is also used by bridal parties to prepare for weddings held on the grounds.
This is a working orchard, vineyard, and winery/tasting room. Workers begin early however we try to limit work around The Cottage before 8:00 am.

This cozy cabin is your ideal getaway!

This spacious 1BR, 1 bathroom cabin has vaulted ceilings throughout, central A/C, and high-speed internet.

The bedroom has a luxurious King Size bed, walk in closet, seating bench and ample storage space. There is a hot tub located outside the bedroom to relax in!

The bathroom has a toilet, vanity area, and a tile shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided.

The living room has comfortable seating with a Queen Size Hide-a-bed, and a 55" TV with Roku. Streaming services are available with guest's own accounts. Wood stove is available for guest use. Guests must provide their own firewood. There is a separate desk/work area, board games and access to a large deck with table/chairs/umbrella, gas firepit and propane BBQ grill.

The kitchen is fully stocked with a JennAir stovetop, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. All pots, pans and cooking utensils are provided. There's also a Keurig and a coffee maker with coffee provided.

The separate dining area is located conveniently off of the kitchen.

There is a full-size washer/dryer with ironing board in a separate room outside of the breezeway for guest use.

The property has ample room for parking for large vehicles, boats or ATVs.

Guests will have access to the entire cabin, patio, and laundry room.

Guests are welcome to walk around the cabin and property anywhere from the cabin to roadside but not beyond posted signs or around barns.

The garage & locked supply closet are not available for guest use.

Check in instructions, address, Wi-Fi password and Wi-Fi smart lock (to enter the front door) will be sent 3 days prior to guest arrival. Check out instructions will be sent one day prior to guest departure.

Dogs are welcome: please see house rules for more details regarding limits, fees & pet rules.

This cabin is located on a ranch in a rural area. When you enter the gate to the property, please stay to the right and follow the sign to the guest house. There are surrounding horse stables, arena, barn and house nearby (75-yards) which are off limits to guests. Occasionally there are group events hosted at the neighboring barn/arena.

This house is secured by a security system and has one Ring camera at the front door and one Ring camera on the garage facing the driveway. There are no cameras inside the house.

There is a friendly ranch dog named 'RuRu' on the property. She is very friendly with other dogs and shy with humans.

No hunting on property.
No access to BLM public lands. (Public access is allowed up the road.)
Pet Rules:
A maximum of 1 dog is allowed. There is a pet fee. Please be sure to include a pet in your reservation so the fee will be included. Guest must provide dog bed, crate and/or kennel. Dogs are not permitted to lay on the furniture or bedding. They must be secured in a crate/kennel if left unattended at any point. Guest must pick up dog waste and dispose of in waste bags that are securely tied. Trash bin for dog waste (poop bags) is located outside on side of garage. Please keep your dog leashed when outside. Guests will be responsible for any damage caused by their dog. Sorry, no cats or other animals are allowed.

House Rules:
No events, parties or large gatherings. No smoking of any kind in the house. Quiet hours 10PM - 8AM. Must be at least 21 years old to book.

Keep propane tanks off when not in use.

Patio umbrella must be kept down when not in use due to strong winds.

" - "I have a 72-year-old mom who physically impaired that cannot accommodate guests where she lives. I rented this cabin so I could visit her as I live in Portland. It was Easter weekend and on Easter, I invited my sisters, Their adult sons and their husbands over for lunch. Each of them drove individually so they could leave after a short visit so there were 8 cars in the extensive driveway. It’s a big, beautiful piece of property but not a vacation destination by any means. All this to say, I’m surprised we were treated the way we were, I can’t imagine they have people chomping at the bit to rent their property. We were having a nice quiet lunch, we weren’t playing music we weren’t drinking we weren’t being loud. Most of us were in the kitchen preparing food and a few people were on the patio enjoying the sun. I began receiving text messages from the property host implying that the owners were becoming upset because we weren’t supposed to have large gatherings. The house rules did state “no large gatherings” I didn’t think 8 people over for lunch, was considered a large gathering. After I receive the message and I expressed to everyone the owners were watching us on the cameras and from next door where they apparently live. We all felt very unwelcome and everyone ended up leaving. The house was not stocked with enough water or toilet paper for the two people that rented it, we ran out first night before anyone visited. Not enough room to here to list the rest, unfortunately."

Easy access to Highway 62 makes exploring the Rogue Valley a breeze.

The wonderful room you will be staying in is on the middle private floor of a 3300 sq ft home. You will have full access to the lower kitchen floor and middle entertainment room with a shared bath. Room has a television with a fire stick along with other amenities. Very quiet neighborhood and close to wineries and all the fun of the rogue valley. Full use of the kitchen and an outstanding deck with incredible views. You will feel right at home in our home. Please keep in mind that we also live in the home.
