Although very close to the ocean, the house is sheltered beneath tall trees that buffer the yard from the wind. The treetops are in constant motion from the sea breeze, but the yard below is calm and comfortable. We will for sure stay there again."

SALTY DOG is a 2 bedroom 2 bath oceanfront home located just north of Gold Beach in Rogue Shores a small oceanfront community of about 30 homes 1 MILE WEST of the Highway 101 and away from traffic. Gold Beach is located about 30 miles north of the Oregon/California border on the world famous ROGUE RIVER. This open plan 2 bedroom home has all wood floors with a full west side glass wall and panoramic views of the coastline and ocean. The main floor is the second floor with the living room with wood burning fireplace, dining room, full bath and kitchen and full laundry. The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin. There is a futon in the living room.
The third floor is the master bedroom with a king bed and seating area and a bath. The house has WIFI, full cable TV, a large west side deck and a HOT TUB under the trees. There is a 2 car garage. We have our own path to the beach about 100 feet west of the home. Our beach is about 3 miles long and sandy with large off shore rocks and the Marine Mammal Reserve from the mouth of the ROGUE RIVER to the south and OTTER POINT to the north. The lights of Port Orford are visible at night to the north west and you can see the Cape Blanco lighthouse flash every 20 seconds. There are many Harbor seals, Sea Lions, sea otters and sea birds off shore and grey whales can be seen years round. Look for agates (semi precious stones) shells, driftwood and other interesting items or you can just enjoy a nearly empty beach and watch the waves and sunsets.

- "You can’t beat this location! Sometimes coastal properties will state “on the beach” and not really mean it. The Salty Dog did not disappoint. This is the closest to the beach I’ve seen in a rental property in a long time. House was well stocked with everything we needed and appreciated all the extra towels and blankets. I think I found someone who enjoys putting little notes around their house just as much as I do. Hahaha! The hot tub worked perfectly and was very private. Quiet neighborhood which we appreciated and the entire week we spent on the beach we only saw maybe three other families. Our only feedback would be we were thankful that our children are now a bit older but this property might be a bit difficult is having a small toddler. Not impossible by any means but you would have a lot of breakables to put up and corners to be aware of and stairs etc. We look forward to coming back again soon thank you so much again David!"

Perfect fishing spot for the amazing Rogue River King Salmon, Steelhead, and many other species of fish. You can swim or float the river right in front of your cabin. Perfect for hiking, biking, swimming, and bird watching of the abundant Osprey and Eagle population. Deer wander the property, along with the quail and wild turkey.

Everything you need to either cook at home, cook out, or a short drive to the world renowned TU TU TUN Lodge. A quick trip into Gold Beach provides access to Jet Boat trips, shelling at the Ocean, and watching beautiful sunsets from the dramatic Oregon Coast. About an hour from the famous Bandon Dunes Golf Course.

- "While the cabin was indeed small, we enjoyed the coziness most of the time. Only 3 soft seats and 4 of us, so we took turns! Kitchen was simple but we were able to cook spaghetti. Too many unnecessary "baking tools," like 2 rolling pins?! Couldn't find any rubber spatulas and cups were only 6 oz, so we had to improvise.The view of the 'Osprey Tree' was a constant enjoyment - more than 6 nests with babies, ready to launch at the end of June! Beds were not soft, but more firm... we slept well. There is a large RV park next to the cabin(s), so you drive or walk through it, daily. We loved the wildlife we saw daily, bird varieties, deer, and a cow; the river was a great place to walk along, as frontage was generous. Town is about 15 minutes away, so no worries about collecting something you forgot (or a 12 oz coffee mug)! Remember, there is no dishwasher or washing machine."

The Honeymoon Cove House (one of the family's original 1930s beach cottages was remodeled in 2010) provides an experience of complete isolation and scenic seclusion. This oceanfront home is situated 70 feet above the ocean and is set back 70 feet from high tide. One can view 9 miles of coastline without viewing anything man-made.
A gravel path leads through the forest from the parking area to the glass front door of the home. Upon entering, you will find an open floor plan with a vaulted open-beam ceiling and a wall of windows overlooking the deck, the Pacific Ocean, and most spectacularly- Arch Rock. The second-highest basalt sea stack located off the continental United States, Arch Rock, is just one unique piece of this beautiful setting. The arch is a well-known landmark on the Oregon Coast and can only be viewed from our private property.

This custom-built home has a private outdoor spa, a fully equipped kitchen, and granite shower in the bathroom. The spacious living room is nicely furnished with premium seating, hardwood floors, YouTube TV, satellite WiFi & more. Glass French doors open from the living area to the romantic bedroom furnished with a Queen bed, luxurious linens, and tasteful appointments. The unique floor plan includes an open staircase to the lofted sleeping space where an additional Queen bed and futon are located.

Byrdies Beach House is perched atop the hillside just 500 feet back from high tide with a private road to Crook Point beach and sea kayaking adventures. This comfortable 2 King bed/2 bath 1960s custom-built oceanfront home is beautifully designed with granite counter-tops and custom woodwork throughout. Our family updated the mid-century home in 2000. The second family room is appointed with two bunk beds (full on bottom, full on top.)

Base Occupancy is 6 guests, and the house can accommodate up to 10 guests. Please note we have a guest fee of $10 + tax per night per guest over the base occupancy. We are pet-friendly, so furry members are welcome for a non-refundable "per dog" fee.
