There is an upstairs bedroom with a private bath, adjoining the bedroom is a large dressing room/bonus room ( You have to walk through the bedroom to access the bonus room.) Each bed has top of the line bedding, a flat screen T.V. There are 3 Bathrooms , the master bath,, a half bath downstairs and a upstairs bathroom that has a tub and show combo. Starter Shampoo, Conditioner and Body wash are provided and hair dryers too. The kitchen has Corian counter tops, dishwasher, stove , trash compactor, microwave, oven and warming drawer, coffee maker, french press, k- cup machine, coffee grinder, Kitchen Aid mixer, Blender, Waffle maker, toaster oven, toaster, panini grill, tea kettle and rice cooker. The laundry Room has Washer and Dryer, starter laundry detergent, Iron and Ironing board and steamer. The living room has a leather sectional sofa, a flat screen TV. DVR, and DVD Player. The Dining Room has a table that seats 6-8 people, there is additional seating at the kitchen bar. The dining room opens to the living room. The living room and Dining room have a shared gas fireplace. The house is equipped with Smart TVS , Roku, and WiFi. There is an office area that shares that laundry room we have a computer, printer and fax machine with wi-fi. There is a gas BBQ available for our guests to use as well as a patio dining set. We are just a short walk to the Six Rivers Brewery. We are just 5 minutes from Humboldt State University, and just a few minutes off 101. You can sit on the sectional sofa and enjoy the incredible view. We do charge an additional 20.00 per person/ per guest after 4 guests. We do accept dogs however we charge and additional 30.00 per day/ per dog. No cats. There is also a black lab dog that lives next door on the property that is very friendly.

The barn loft is up a short staircase and very well insulated from farming operations. Reclaimed old-growth wooden details frame the country charm, combined with modern amenities. Heated by a thermostat regulated pellet stove and cooled by a big ceiling fan. Cook your breakfast on the fully restored 1930's Spark gas stove using fresh organic produce and eggs available seasonally for purchase from our farm. The master bedroom sits just off the living room and is equipped with a queen-sized bed and 2 pull out single beds. The couch in the living room also opens into a queen bed. High-speed Wifi is available and T.V. entertainment is located in the office nook. Situated on the north side of the barn, there is a spacious outdoor setting where you can lounge in the sun, climb tree stumps, greet our animals, enjoy a campfire, and take in the scenery. Take a self-guided stroll around the property or make an appointment for a detail tour and introduction to our working farm.

This is a two bedroom, one bath duplex with private driveway, garage, and yard space. Both sides of the duplex function as private vacation rentals. The bedrooms consist of a queen size bed and full size bed, and a large bathroom with radiant floor heating located in the hallway that both bedrooms share. The space is clean, and fully updated with granite countertops and new appliances. A washer and dryer is also available for guest use during your stay.

- "the house wasn’t clean at all, floors were dirty, the rooms and living room had a musty/sweaty smell. My socks fell on the bathroom floor, and when I picked them up they were full of dust. All furniture was full of dust, the fridge was dirty, all windows were dirty/dusty. We were asked to not use shoes inside which we did, and our socks got filthy right away. I was shocked to see that it wasn’t clean, isn’t that why they charge a cleaning fee? The house itself is really pretty, and the neighborhood is very quite."

The space
Your bedroom is freshly decorated, new queen mattress, and is right next to your guest bathroom. Both adorned refurbished pieces, fence board headboard, and fun accents. There's a small heater to keep you cozy on cooler days. A small work desk is available with good internet speed. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood, with a large garden and a very floofy cat who is likely to greet you at the door. It's not unusual for guests to sleep in since it's so peaceful!

Besides your bedroom and bathroom, you will have access to the living room, kitchen, dining room, and garden/yard. If needed, you can use the garage for storage. There's also a washer and dryer available for guests who are staying for two or more nights.

Guest access
You will have your own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is available for small meals, but take notice that I do not have a microwave. You are welcome to sit in the yard or the living room. For TV addicts, there's a Roku TV in your bedroom, as my living room-dining room are not very big, or suited for people who are looking to hang out for hours.
The garage can be used for small storage of bikes and other things.

During your stay
I am an avid outdoor adventurer and I am happy to share information about local spots, including biking, climbing, running and water sports. I can recommend rental shops and I am familiar with the different wilderness areas, National/State parks/forests of Humboldt County and beyond.

I also enjoy the great food and vibrant culture of Humboldt County and can direct you to some of my favorite places.

Other things to note
I have various fitness equipment available for use for those looking for a workout. If the garden has an abundance of vegetables, I'm happy to share some. The backyard is great for relaxing after a day in the sun.

There is no microwave in the house.

The space
Come enjoy the serene and beautiful Redwood forest surrounding the Crown Royal Streamline, a vintage Airstream travel trailer with clean, original features and a complete kitchen, an interior 1/2 bathroom and amenities.

Enjoy beautifully constructed Juniper and Cedar Bathhouse with on-demand hot water and claw foot tub/shower awaits a relaxing moment among the sunny and private meadow and redwoods. The bathhouse is open-air (semi-enclosed and private, similar to campground shower) adjacent to Airstream and is cooler in winter months, but guests love it. Also now is our HOT TUB under the Forest Canopy (shared, just 1-minute walk from Airstream and sign up sheet on site for reserving 30-60 private tub time.). The trailer has heating options including radiant heat, a wood stove (firewood bundles avail to buy at some local markets) and comfy bed with warm comforters and electric blankets. According to recent guests, all these options warm up the Airstream nicely. Airstream is fully furnished with towels, soaps, bedding, full kitchen and all you need to bring is your own food and beverage.

Guest access
Just 10 minutes from Arcata, local beaches and the Mad River and you have arrived at our 47 acres of sun-filled Redwood forest. From the exit off Hwy 299 , the Airstream is conveniently located only 1/2 mile down our country lane.

Fish, swim, enjoy our adjacency to the Mad River or drive 10 minutes to Humboldt State University, local beaches, Avenue of the Giants, Mad River Hatchery....

Re: Our Health and Safety preparedness for your arrival: We do thorough cleaning procedures between guests and follow CDC health and safety hospitality standards. Disinfecting hand soap and cleaning supplies are in the rental. Our 47 acre redwood-forested setting provides an ideal place and way to vacation or retreat. Also, re Covid, by this time our guests understand the situation, have read our cancellation policy and assume all responsibility when they make reservation. We are not refunding for reasons re Covid at this time.

Wait, What Am I Looking At?

Yeah, it’s kind of hard to get your mind around it. Visitors intuitively stare a bit, then inevitably walk 360 degrees around the perimeter to take it in. You'll probably spy someone passing by to stop and stare up!

The logic of the place invites curiosity. The layout is intimate and could seem small if not for the mindful intention of the diminished proportions. This is balanced by plentiful and tall windows that make the outside (and the changing light throughout the day) feel like part of the rooms. The natural materials invite every surface to be touched and enjoyed. The rooflines can challenge the eye, and their natural movement inspires contemplation and makes the small footprint feel spacious. The playful chimneys give the home a sense of not taking itself too seriously (it doesn't). The vertical orientation, strange outdoor staircase, and prominent rooftop deck balance the comfort of the interiors by stretching residents a bit out of their comfort zones, displacing both eye body with new visual and spatial experiences. The house looks delightfully unique from itself from every angle and almost like it shouldn't be allowed.

Ok, that’s poetic and all, but tell me about this place!
There are three separate units in the house, each with its own external entrance: the first floor apartment, the second floor apartment, and the studio bedroom in the tower. We rent out all three units and as owners, frequently visit whichever one is open to stay in ourselves. Don't worry, we'll give you your privacy!

Bet sure to climb to the Skydeck in the morning and take a photo of your shadow standing on top of the house as projected below!

Brand new remodel 2019. Located on two private acres on top of a hill, Azalea Views Retreat is a quiet mother-in-law apartment situated above an attached 3 car garage. Less than 10 minutes from Arcata or McKinleyville. Highlights include hardwood and slate floors & mantle, gas fireplace, walnut countertops, 2-burner cooktop, and beautiful views from the deck! Custom touches throughout. Enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets on the deck overlooking Azalea Reserve and Arcata in the distance.

The space
This stylish studio apartment has its own kitchenette and full bathroom. Located in a very peaceful rural setting, It features sunny south-facing views of Arcata and distant hills, oak and black walnut hardwood floors, beautiful slate entry and mantle for the gas stove, tiled bathroom, hand-made walnut writing desk, and WIFI. The apartment has it's own entrance via stairs to a private deck. The loft is over our garage and our bedrooms are at the far end of the house...so there is no need to move carefully, we won’t hear you at all.

The apartment has a very comfortable queen size bed with both Tempurpedic and organic down alternative pillows as well as high thread count cotton sheets and a down-alternative comforter. The space features custom woodworking throughout, original artwork, hardwood floors and an antique rug.

The kitchenette has a two burner induction stovetop, mini fridge, microwave, coffee grinder, automatic coffee maker and a pour-over cone, tea kettle, pots/pans etc. The kitchen is stocked with good coffee, tea, and treats in the fridge. We supply shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is a blow drier in the bathroom. An ironing board and iron are also provided.

The main living space has a beautiful slate mantle with a cute little gas stove to keep you warm, along with a comfortable couch.

We are blessed to live on a stunning piece of property that is both secluded yet close to everything. . There are several resident deer families that frequent our yard in the mornings and evenings, along with foxes, raccoons and an occasional skunk.

Other things to note
As the result of a single negative review about the comfort of the sofa bed, I have upgraded the mattress. Your comfort and pleasure during your stay here are my most important concerns.

Also, it must be said that much of our region has an issue with Argentine ants. They are small and persistent. We feel very strongly against toxic pesticide use, and consequently use less toxic baits, primarily borax based, which take time to work. While major infestations are rare, there may be some occasional presence of ants near the plumbing fixtures.

Please report such problems to co-hosts and he will handle them. In the meantime please wash any ants down the nearest drain and let us know about the issue asap so we can take care of the problem.

Relax in this VERY tiny, and very cozy custom built cottage (130 square feet) in Fieldbrook. The cottage is surrounded by a large deck that provides a comfortable spot to enjoy the surrounding redwoods. Nestled next to the cottage is a hot tub that is reserved only for the use of guests. Wifi may be spotty at times. Located in a country setting just 20 minutes from Arcata and Humboldt State University to the south, 20 minutes to Trinidad to the north and 10 minutes to Mckinleyville.

The space
The cottage is located on our 5 acre property in Fieldbrook. Redwood from the property was used for custom woodwork throughout the cottage. Large windows and skylight create excellent natural light. The full sized tempurpedic mattress is super comfy. There is a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. Coffee and milk will be provided. The space is very small, however all basic needs are provided. There is WiFi, but it is important to note, that it is at times a spotty. The spacious deck is around a large redwood tree and has table and chairs for dining and relaxing outside. The hot tub offers a relaxing and one of a kind place to enjoy the towering redwood trees and night-time air of the north coast. The hot tub is for the use of guests only, and although it is set back from the main house, it's location is not 100% private and is a part of the shared yard space. The yard space will be shared with our family that consists of two children 4 chickens that roam free and a friendly dog. The parking area is 200 feet from the cottage.

A sweet quiet home on a sweet quiet street, 2 bedrooms 1 bath, 900 square feet, forced air furnace turns out the heat, a nice place to rest, a short drive to the beach, a peaceful place for a cozy retreat.

Super easy check in. A brand new home this is not. Original 1940s cabinets and hardwood floors in the bedrooms. Minor scuffs and scratches. Its warm, has natural light pouring in, and will make you feel right at home. Close to stores and beaches (3 miles to Clam Beach County Park).

The space
My sanctuary for the better part of the last 20 years, this is a great place to relax after an adventure, and Humboldt County offers many. The house is 1 of 2 units on a .3 acre lot. The driveway and backyard are shared with the other unit. We live there and you may see us.


There are a few steps involved with getting in and out; 2 to get in front door, 2 for the deck and 2 to get into the laundry room.

On a sunny day the mornings are bright! Draw the curtains open for extra light. Feel at home instantly while making a meal in the well equipped kitchen. Sip coffee on the deck or porch. Nights are quiet and cozy.


The TVs have app based streaming. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus. Free TV apps like Roku. No regular cable. Use my accounts for Netflix and Prime.

The laundry room is frumpy but works.

The space
The private space includes a large bedroom with a cozy, romantic gas stove, a desk/workstation, smart TV, big closet, and a dresser. The other room (which you pass through to get to the bathroom), has a new kitchenette, a futon/sleeper/couch, and a small dining table with 2-3 chairs. Temperatures in Humboldt County are moderate so there is no need for air-conditioning. All rooms have vaulted ceilings and wood floors, and a door between them for privacy.

lt's a 30-40 minute bicycle ride to Trinidad, Arcata or Cal Poly Humboldt, or just a 10 minute drive.

Our home makes the perfect portal to begin and end your west coast travels and to explore the Redwood Coast. You could spend weeks, months, or even years trying to see all our parks, hike and bike our trails, paddle our rivers and lagoons, sail Humboldt Bay, and anything else you can imagine. Redwood Park, Prairie Creek, Tall Trees, Fern Canyon, Trinidad, etc are all less than an hour away.

The books you will see are only for reading during your stay, please leave them when you go.

Since we added a kitchen counter, the second room isn't really set up as a bedroom anymore. The futon can be flattened to sleep someone, but they would be in the kitchen and dining area.

There’s a toaster oven in there. The only freezer is the tiny shelf on the top of the mini fridge.

Wi-Fi speed is 81.76 download and 32.46 upload. Nobody has ever complained about Internet speed or reliability.

There is also small studio attached to the rear portion of this building that also operates as an Airbnb. The adjoining walls are sound proofed and none of the spaces are shared but there is the potential for occasional low levels of noise.

The home featured n this listing offers a spacious floor plan with immense natural light. The large living room includes a piano, couch, tv, and high top table. It also offers an excellent view of the sunset when the weather permits. The kitchen and dining area are vast and beautiful as well.

This is an excellent space for cooking a large meal or hosting an intimate dinner. There is a private fenced yard surrounded by trees that includes a bbq and picnic table. A secluded and quiet little house, it is a comfortable and cozy place to rest between adventures on the North Coast and is well suited for longer stays. It has a queen bed in the loft and a sofa bed in the main room. The loft looks down on the kitchen portion of the main room, and it has a peaked roof that somewhat restricts movement within the space (especially for tall folks). A washer and dryer are in the bathroom. Wi-Fi and a smart tv are provided. Our goal is for you to have a trouble free, enjoyable lodging experience. We will try to anticipate the many simple "needs/wishes" of travelers and provide "the little things" not expected.

The Serene Cabin in the Redwoods is located on 5 acres of sunny orchards and redwood forest. Enjoy the expansive view of our next door neighbors 20 acres of pasture as you come down the driveway to the parking area. Many beautiful wild animals can be seen here from elk, coyote, wild turkey, bobcat, hawks and more depending on the season.

Take a short trail right from the cabin to Lindsey Creek, a year round creek. There you will find a small beach. You may even see the salmon running.

Enjoy watching the many species of birds fluttering from tree to tree from the glider on your own private deck. Enjoy breakfast on a second deck right next to the cabin.

We try to provide you with all of the amenities you could possibly need to make your stay as carefree as possible. We always strive to use organic and environmentally friendly products. If we have missed something don’t hesitate to ask for whatever you need.

The cabin and all of the appliances are relatively new so you can expect a very clean and comfortable stay.

The cabin has a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare elaborate multi course meals if desired. Farm fresh eggs (laid by our very own hens when available), fresh produce (in season) from our garden and other breakfast essentials will be provided, as well as organic fair trade coffee and black, green and herbal tea.

Although we provide a flat screen tv, premium cable channels, dvd player and internet (which is not great due to limited options out here in the country) we encourage you to unplug and revel in the serenity that surrounds the cabin.

The space is for two people as it is a one bedroom with a double bed.

A comfortable sofa and chair are nestled around a large coffee table and lamp.
The living room also features a wall mounted tv with roku for your basic viewing pleasure. Guests may use their own accounts to access netflix, Prime, or other subscriptions. This is the only tv in the home.

The kitchen area features a breakfast bar with four stools for enjoying a meal or socializing.
The kitchen comes stocked to supply parties of 4 with all they need to cook simple meals at home.
There is no dishwasher, but a drying rack is provided.
If you're not feeling up to dishes, there are some great local restaurants in the area. Check out the guest book to get some ideas, or feel free to message me for suggestions.
A coffee pot, French press, coffee grinder, fresh roasted Humboldt coffee, and a selection of tea will help get you off to a great start in the morning.

The bedrooms both have queen sized beds, with extra blankets in the closet for the chilly nights. Bedside lamps are equipped with convenient usb ports for your charging needs.
Each bedroom also includes a white noise machine to help get a restful nights sleep.

The downstairs bedroom closet has a set of extra pillows and an extra comforter for those that need them or to use on the sofa sleeper (extra linens are in the living room closet). The living room space is cozy, and furniture will need to be moved to fold out the sofa sleeper.

The bathroom has a combo shower/ tub and comes stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels are stored in the kitchen/living room closet.

The closet in the kitchen/living room area is stocked with all the linens. This includes towels, wash cloths, and extra sheets/pillow cases for the sofa sleeper or if needed during the stay.
The closet also comes supplied with a basket of basics, in case you forgot your toothbrush or other basic necessities on your travels.
A collection of board games and cards are also stored in the closet, as well as beach towels and a small collection of books.

The backyard space is unfinished and is currently in the process of being enclosed and upgraded to make it more inviting for outdoor lounging. It is partially fenced for privacy. We are currently working on finishing the fencing and providing welcoming landscaping.

Guest access
The guest home has a small front yard, and partially fenced back yard space. (A fence is currently being built in the back yard, along with yard upgrades. )
The entire house is for guest use.
There are some extra house supplies and cleaning supplies stored in the kitchen closet and under the kitchen sink.

This is a NO PET, NO SMOKING home!

Additional fines of $100 per night and removal from property will result in unauthorized pets or smoking.

Hot water is on demand, it takes a few minutes to heat up, and is very hot. But you don't need to worry about running out of hot water for everyone's showers.

The wall heater located in the living room gets HOT to the touch, please be aware and do not leave any flammables or furniture against it.

As the house is heated with a single wall heater, the upstairs can get warm. Keeping the bedroom door closed or cracked helps keep the house at a comfortable temperature. There is also a small fan in the upstairs bedroom closet for your comfort.

We live in a rural area and and with that comes ants and other bugs. While we do hire professionals to treat the home, you can keep them at bay by keeping all food in the fridge, washing dirty dishes, and wiping up spills and crumbs from counters and floors. And by keeping the doors shut to prevent flying bugs inside.

Along with a rural neighborhood, is the chickens and roosters located nearby. Each bedroom has a white noise machine to help with sleep.

There is a dog that lives on site (big black lab), along with two black cats you may see.

Humboldt hideaway is centrally located & within a few miles of many majestic beaches & redwood forests. In fact, you can often times hear the ocean as you’re relaxing here. We’re also just a quick 10 minute drive from Cal Poly Humboldt.

The space
After our recent renovation of most of the unit, we are excited to share it with you! It’s a comfortable and relaxing private space. The kitchenette features a minifridge w/ small freezer, microwave, double hot plate & toaster oven (no sink in kitchenette). The unit also has a private bathroom w/ shower & bathtub combo. The TV has an Amazon FireStick & is on a swivel so it can be viewed from the bed or the couch. The central heating is connected to the main house therefore we have placed a remote control heater in the unit so guests have additional heat if desired. The private backyard has a gas BBQ & chairs for relaxing outside in the small private backyard.

Guest access
We are down a private road that’s shared with a few wonderful neighbors. There is one guest parking spot in front of the unit and additional parking is available on the main road. The entrance to unit is through the gate on the left side of the house marked with the “Humboldt Hideaway” sign. Guest will then follow the brick & gravel walkway to the private backyard where the entrance is located.

Other things to note
In our area, we don’t always have the best internet coverage. We have installed a WiFi booster in the unit to help but internet can cut out from time to time. Also please note that there is no sink in the kitchenette (only sink in the bathroom).

Two room suite in the trees has everything you’ll need for a relaxing and fun stay. Private entrance from our new outdoor staircase and deck into the living room and a well equipped mini kitchen.
There’s a comfortable full size futon that can be used if needed with extra bedding provided. The private bathroom with shower and tub are right next door. The bedroom is in the attached 2nd room with a comfy queen sized bed. We live in the house too.
You’ll feel like you’re in a treehouse.

The space
We’ve created a private 2 room suite with kitchenette and bathroom. You’ll have plenty of privacy while you relax and enjoy our home. There’s a desk for working from home, WiFi, clock radio, comfortable reading chair and equipped mini kitchen.

Guest access
Please feel free to share our lovely garden and patio. The fire pit is available as are the patio furnishings and hammock when not raining. Many guests bring their dinner outside to enjoy the yard.
Our hot tub is available for your use 5:00-9:00 pm. Please check in with us to arrange a time so our use doesn’t conflict with yours. Please access the tub from the gate at the right of our main house front door. The tubs tucked in the back left corner of the yard.

Other things to note
There’s a lot to see here on the north coast. If you haven’t planned your other stays after leaving our place, you might want to consider staying with us for a few days. Folks almost always say they wish they could stay longer. We’ve got rivers, beaches, great hiking, walking, restaurants , water sports and the tallest trees on the planet to check out…you won’t want to miss a thing!
Murphy’s Market has just about anything you’ll need and it’s less than half a mile away. We’re also only 2 miles to Blue Lake with the outdoor set-up Mad River Brewery for dinner and a beer or the Logger Bar for evening fun. Dell Arte often has great entertainment and it’s a quick drive down the road.
Don’t miss taking a soak in the Mad River or a walk along the levee, a few minute drive from the house. Redwood National Park is 40 minutes away. Great beaches and lovely hiking within 10-30 minute drive.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. With it's proximity to the redwoods, Cal Poly and the uncrowded, rugged, coastal beaches of Humboldt County you will not find a better location from which to explore all that makes Humboldt so special. The space
This large 1200 square foot 2 bedroom home is part of a larger duplex. Each side is fully contained and independent of the other.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. On Hammond Trail Bike and walking path. Minutes walk to beach, bike trail leads to beach and town. Just a 15 minute drive to Su meg Point State Park and Trinidad.
A 45 minute drive to Redwood National Park. Peaceful spot with view of ocean and Arcata Bottoms. 20 minute walk to Mad River Beach.

The space
This is a stand-alone guest house situated at rear of owner-occupied property. It is a private space with amazing views of the Arcata Bottoms and direct access to the Hammond Trail.
