- "Me and my friend absolutely loved this place! Clean, well stocked and situated close to everything so it was an easy walk to downtown Ashland. Appreciated the snacks upon check in. Lovely decor and we both appreciated the clean and organized space. Had a variety of appliances (coffee maker -pods with a nice selection, tea kettle, and cups/ plates, utensils, and everything you might need for your stay). We used washer/dryer at end of stay, which had fast cycle. Nice to have walk-in closets in both bedrooms, and comfortable beds. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning while it was quiet. We saw a deer on side of house at dusk one day. We were close enough to walk to coffee/breakfast—visited Rogue Valley Roasters and Hither. Then able to walk easily to OSF, bakery, shopping. Also tried many wonderful restaurants and tea shops like Dobra and Lovey’s. Always catch the Farmer’s Market and checked out the Artisan’s Market along Guanajuato. We are close enough for short drives to surrounding cities like Talent, Medford and Jacksonville. My sister and her son stopped in from their nearby rental and commented what a beautiful, spacious place it was. A lot of space to enjoy music, read, talk to people. Fast internet, available board games and comfy sofa/seating. Helpful to have parking in rear that was able to accommodate large/wide vehicles. Would come back and rent Charley’s Place again for sure!"

The Red Dragon House is a great location for those who wish to discover Ashland, along with the southern Rogue Valley, but still get that rural feeling while remaining only minutes from town. The single-story house is spacious at nearly 1,000 square feet, and features mountain views of the southern Rogue Valley. The house features a large open living room/kichen area, with lots of counter space, two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom shower, suitable for those with mild handicaps, and has three decks from which to choose, all on a property that is 5.2 acres, in a rural neighborhood, that's quiet. All this only five minutes from the nearest restaurants and markets, and ten minutes from Downtown Ashland, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area is only 19 miles away!

While the neighborhood is quiet, it should be mentioned that the property is adjacent to I-5, which makes getting to us easy, but does provide some road noise. So, if it's total quiet you require, this may not be the best fit for you, though the there is no road noise inside the house.

Beautiful log home nestled in the Siskiyou-Cascade Mountain forests of Southern Oregon. About 15 minutes to downtown Ashland, 20 minutes to Mt. Ashland Ski Area, and a three minute walk to the Pacific Crest Trail (an interesting section with meadows, forests, ridges and Pilot Rock).
This home is a cozy, quiet, peaceful getaway: close enough to Ashland to be convenient, yet completely surrounded by old conifer forests and mountains. Guests have taken to calling it "hygge," after the Danes.
Features include private covered parking, fully equipped kitchen, large private covered deck overlooking the forest, sun room, Japanese ofuro hot tub, seasonal Swedish wood-fired sauna (October-mid May), and walking trails. If you need a full-size crib and high chair, please let us know. The sun room is like being in a big, glass tree house. Also, an outdoor play structure for children, a long paved drive for bikes, and 38 acres to explore.

Concerns: there are no bear or mountain lions in this neck of the woods, so an evening stroll to watch the sunset is quite safe! We are above the elevations where poison oak grows. And no one has ever gotten a tick on them in these past forty years (we're high up, at 5,000,' and the snow load prevents them from thriving as they do at lower elevations). If an ambulance is needed, it takes them just ten minutes to arrive.

Ashland is a lively and comfortable town. The Shakespeare Festival is renowned for its world-class theater. Restaurants are mind-boggling in how many there are, and how good! Rafting companies offer their usual adventures (in season) on the Rogue River. Noah's River Adventure is conveniently based out of Ashland and has an excellent reputation.
Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from the house brings you through meadows, conifer forests, wildfowers, flowering shrubs, and along ridge tops. Mt Ashland's trails and forest road are easily accessible, great for alpine hiking, becoming well-known for mountain biking, and snows sports and sledding in winter.
Our homestead is a good place to find freedom, peaceful relaxation, exercise and inspiration in the midst of forests, meadows and mountains. Lots of space for children to play freely, and room to roam! Kids love riding their bikes of all sizes on our private paved road, being that there are no cars to watch out for.

Mountain bikers often use the shuttle services offered by Ashland Mtn Adventures.
Back-country and Nordic skiers will find a great variety of possibilities (in addition to the ridges and bowls behind Mt Ashland) and I'm happy to share these with you, and maps as well. A day trip down to Mt Shasta ski resort and back-country terrain is a good plan too.
The alpine trails behind Mt Ashland are snow-free usually until mid-November and the huge wildflower bloom lasts much of the summer. The views out over all the mountain ranges are magnificent!
The space
The homestead is located on the Siskiyou Summit just south of Ashland. Elevation 5000 ft making temperatures about 10 degrees cooler than Ashland and the valley and a few degrees warmer than Mt Ashland. The 38 acres of forest (unlogged) are the site of the historic old wagon (and early automobile) road, now our driveway, crossing the summit from Oregon to California. Earlier, since time immemorial, the pass was used by the Shasta, Karuk, Yurok, Takelma and many other tribes. It has been our family home since 1982, and we've been caring for this little piece of the puzzle ever since.
We are part of the bird flyway and our forest is home to hundreds of birds. One sitting on the deck or by the pond will record 20-30 different species! Animals are primarily deer and fox and squirrels. On the property there are three houses (the Log house, the Forest house, and the Pond house), all far enough away from one another to feel private and secluded.
We live permanently on the property with our dog, Kellen, in the Pond House. We enjoy meeting people and will be available if you need anything during your stay. The Forest House will also be rented at times, and has a separate driveway, parking area and entrance with forest in between. The Log House has a key pad entrance so you can check in when we're not home. Many guests like to enjoy a fire in the wood stove on cool evenings. All details for getting here, using the WiFi, house rules, and everything else will be available to you upon booking in a detailed itinerary section.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the Log House, the seasonal sauna, the gazebo, the pond, and the entire property.

Other things to note
If you are bringing a dog, there is a dog deposit of $35 per week. Please bring only dogs who are quiet, friendly with other people and dogs and not dominant. We have a limit of one dog, and no cats please (allergies).
Also, please note that the sauna is readily available during sauna season (October-mid May). It is an additional $25 for the sauna. Let us know ahead of time and we will help you get it fired up. You will be the only users for the day you request.

The EV charger is available on request, with a $10 fee per charge (saving you a trip to town).

Cabin is located close to the PCT, a nordic trail system as well as Hyatt Lake and Howard Prairie for a variety of outdoor adventures. Host was excellent to respond to any requests or questions we had." - "We have stayed at many cabins in our travels and this was, by far, the best. It is well laid out, has a great kitchen, it is stocked with everything you will need and it is in great shape. There are plenty of cooking utensils, spices, etc. We didn’t lack anything. The cabin is on a small property between two other cabins and right off the road. I’m a big fan of complete privacy so I was a bit concerned by this. But, there was almost no traffic on the road, no one was every at the one cabin and an older man was at the other cabin but he was quiet so we barely knew he was there. There outdoor area is very nice with a beautiful porch with a couch, chairs and a propane fire table. There is a very nice grill and darts and horseshoes outside too. We went swimming at Howard Prairie and Hyatt Prairie lakes. They are both a bit rough because the low water levels means it can be rocky and muddy leading up to the water. I would recommend going to Hyatt Prairie. We found a decent spot in one of the campgrounds. We stayed here for a week and were sad to leave. We would come back in a heartbeat."

Each story is over 500sf and filled with light from the abundance of windows. There's off street parking and it's an easy walk to downtown!

The space

Our home is filled with color and light. Built in 1890, it has been said to be a brothel/laundry house in days gone by. Fully private and fully furnished with covered porch, double head walk in shower, double celled window shades, garden, fully loaded kitchen, wifi, cable and internet. Newly offered is a brand new stackable washer/dryer beside the refrigerator.
For a good night's sleep, we have comfortable arrangements with either the king bed in the loft space or the custom pull out queen size couch in the living room is as cozy as your own bed with a 10” Spring Air mattress (pump is hung in a basket under the window in back of the sofa).
The bathroom is easy access on the main floor.
The owner/artists live on the premise between their 2 studios. J. Garloff Design artistic lighting pieces are featured in the home as well as in the gardens.

Being in downtown Ashland, it is across the street from the Cabaret Theater and a block from Lithia Park, three Oregon Shakespeare Theaters & the Green Show, the downtown movie theater, shops, restaurants, and a comprehensive hike & bike trail system. Southern Oregon University is also just a few blocks away with more art venues to enjoy. Ashland is nestled between 3 mountain ranges also, so there is plenty to explore, including the fruit orchards, lavender farms, and wineries in the valley. After skiing on Mt. Ashland, it is a great place to come back to relax with the fireplace and soaking tub.

You will be an easy 10 minute drive from Downtown Ashland and feel like you are out in the country. The home is 1200 square feet, was built in 2012 and remodeled in 2022. There is ample natural light and 15+ foot ceilings in the living space. Emigrant creek is a year round creek that borders the 8 acre property and is a lovely spot to relax.

Our bohemian caravan is located on our beautiful property, which includes five unique listings that can be booked separately or together for larger groups. The caravan is situated close to the nearby creek and may not be suitable for young children. Smoking is not allowed inside the caravan, but guests are welcome to smoke outside in designated areas. This is a non-tobacco smoking area.

This listing is for a private bedroom in a 2-bedroom accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in Ashland, Oregon, and is the perfect place to stay for visitors looking for comfort and convenience. Built a year ago, the ADU features quality new furnishings that make guests feel at home.
The home is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood close to everything Ashland has to offer. Visitors can take a short and enjoyable walk to reach great places like the natural foods Co-op, the famous Shakespeare theatre, the beautiful 100-acre Lithia Park, and many great restaurants and shops surrounding the Plaza. Hiking enthusiasts can take advantage of the more than 50 miles of mountain hiking trails nearby. Commuters to regional hospitals and campuses will find that the location is also convenient for them.

Each bedroom of the ADU can be rented individually, or guests can request to book both bedrooms to have a private 2-bedroom apartment to themselves (if available). Please see my other listing if interested in renting the whole space!

Livingroom:
The living room has LVP floors with quality wool carpeting, comfortable reading chairs, an electric fireplace, stylish coffee tables, and a Smart TV available for guests to watch their favorite shows.

Kitchen:
The ADU has an open-concept kitchen fully equipped with brand-new appliances and everything you need to feel comfortable. There is a dishwasher, large airfryer/convection oven, microwave, apartment-sized fridge, 2-burner cooktop, coffee maker, espresso machine, blender, and InstantPot. Starter coffee, tea, and mints are provided.

Dining:
The dining area seats two people, with additional kitchen counter seating.
Quality dishes, cloth napkins, and silverware are provided.

Bathroom:
The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a custom glass door and is stocked with complete towel sets, a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Outdoor spaces:
The ADU shares a backyard with the main house that's perfect for relaxation and entertainment. The backyard boasts an above-ground swimming pool, a hot tub, sauna, cold plunge tub, two fire pits, outdoor furniture, hammocks, a grill, and a fridge.
The front yard has mature pollinator landscaping with fruit trees, comfortable lounging and swinging seating.
Guests can also enjoy the private yard space of the ADU, where they can unwind and relax. This space includes a grill and comfortable outdoor furniture.

All the extras:
The ADU offers high-speed WiFi, A/C, and heating included in the rental price. Heating and cooling is controlled in the ADU with 2 mini-split units.
Laundry is available on site through a shared laundry room.

Bedroom:
The bedroom has a full-sized bed with a high-quality pillow topped mattress on its carpeted floors. There is a West Elm workstation desk with additional shelving for organization and storage. This room also includes a Smart TV with a firestick, blackout curtains, a dresser, bedside table, and closet with hanging and drawer storage.
Additional extra soundproofing has been built into the walls for added privacy and a peaceful stay.

Welcome home to enchanting Ashland. Every inch of this apartment is brand new and sparkling. Guests have ample privacy, their own portion of yard and access to shared laundry room. Bedroom window gazes at the garden full of flowers. Without stepping in a car you can access Lithia Park, hiking trails and the Shakespeare Festival. One block away is the Japanese Garden. It has a large Samsung Picture Tv, kitchenette and fridge. Please understand our zoning allows for a minimum of 30 days rental.

The space
Our house is a sunny remodeled 1910 home. The unit is totally brand new and recently remodeled so guests can be sure to have the cleanest stay they could get! The property is set up that you are able to be as private as you like. The main portion of house uses the upper yard and guests can enjoy the lower. The yard is fully fenced so for dog owners we can request that dog can roam in yard.

Parking: there are two spots at the end of a one car length driveway. Only one car at a time can pull in or out. The guest spot is clearly labeled so please park all the way in.

Getting to the unit: enter through the gate by garage. The first door you find is the laundry room. If you walk around the corner you will find your covered private patio and main entrance.

Bedroom: All sheets, pillows, mattress are brand new. The bed frame is handmade by a local craftsman. Stylish kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee and tea supplies. Hot plate and cookware available for cooking if needed. Mugs, silverware, plates, bowls are all available.

Yard: Guests can enjoy a fire pit with cedar Adirondack chairs in winter months or access to a four seater outdoor table by garden in spring/summer/fall.

Guest access
You have full access to your unit , the adjacent laundry room and the covered patio outside your room. You also may enjoy the flower garden outside your unit and have the most privacy in the lower portion of the yard. You are welcome to move the tables and chairs where you enjoy sitting for coffee or meals.

Other things to note
We have a musician in the house so we will attempt to do all piano playing when we notice you have gone out for the day. We also have a young daughter who enjoys the upper yard and deck we will do our best to give you quiet and privacy.
