We have always liked being in downtown Ashland but this was a thousand times better while still being close to downtown. The property was secure and had ample parking space—a nice change. The host was always responsive and accommodating while affording us complete privacy. It was difficult to leave this peaceful place."

The Mexico Apartment is a basement unit so you must be able to walk down the stairs to enter. It is a comfortable space filled with light at an affordable price from which you can make your forays into town for theater (The Oregon Shakespeare Festival), art, shopping and dining. And use it as a base from which to explore the many local hiking trails, biking trails and ski trails in and around Ashland. Also enjoy our newly updated Japanese Garden located in Lithia Park and in the Winter- ice-skating! Plus we have three locally owned fabulous book stores.

Arrive. Park your car. Exhale & walk for the remainder of your visit. You are now adjacent to 93- acre Lithia Park and downtown Ashland. Within a 5-minute walk, you will discover exceptional restaurants, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, curio stores, bakeries coffee houses, cafes, bookstores, 4-screen art house movie theater & summer Saturday Farmer's Market. Suite 1 has high ceilings and exceptional lighting in both the private bedroom and expanded kitchen and sitting room. The windows are high off the ground as seen from the outside and at a comfortably low level from the inside to offer a full picture viewing, which alternates between blue skies, the green of leaves, and the unique brown of the redwood tree trunk. Hopefully you will be treated to the morning parade of turkeys strutting to impress; the strolling deer taking respite from the rain/heat; frequently you will observe squirrels chasing one another or browsing for food, occasionally, a curious cat; and, rarely, a mama bear with trailing cubs.

For your comfort, the floors have radiant heat, and each room has a self-contained and independent ductless mini-split air conditioning/heating unit. These units have the added feature of operating in air filtration or dehumidifier mode.

The windows are upscaled for sound proofing with easily operated pull down screens to block out bugs and let in the cool, fresh air and sounds of the creek. The window shades are top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top, which allows for the perfect position. And the bedroom is thoughtfully outfitted with black out shades to help induce a rejuvenating, deep sleep.

The kitchen has all the appliances, dishware, and kitchenware you will need. The refrigerator is large and the ice maker efficient, which is much appreciated for summer picnics.

In the full-size bathroom, no need to worry about who gets to bathe first as there is a whole-house, on-demand, hot water heating system. You will never experience the dreaded hair-full-of-suds-and-no-mo'-hot-water. And after a day of activity, relax in the soaker tub with that endless supply of hot water.

The pillows and mattress have anti-allergen protective coverings, with extra sheets, blankets and pillows found in the pedestal of the bed or clothes closet.

There is a well-lighted, large closet in which to hang your clothes, shelves to place your folded items and enough space to store your suitcase and things.

There is a nice tall pub-style table to use as your workstation. And, for your convenience, you will find useful office items in a kitchen drawer, such as, stapler, tape dispenser, white out, paper clips, post-its, pens, pencils, markers, etc. There are ample outlets in the bedroom from which to pull power and USB outlets by the bedside, in the bathroom and kitchen. The chairs around the kitchen table easily adjust in height and for your ergonomic comfort. Feel free to pull in one of those chairs and move the high table to the spot that most suits you and motivates those creative and productive juices. The Wi-Fi is rated at 500Mbs download and 25Mbs upload per device. More than enough for zoom meeting, FaceTime, uploading documents, etc. And, for those times you need to really spread out, there is always the kitchen table!

You will find a Smart TV in each room with 200+ cable channels and the ability for you to login to your private streaming service, such as, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, HBO, HULU, etc. It is secured to the wall with a bracket that allows it to be swiveled, turned, and tilted to the viewing point that suits you.

There is a large capacity clothes washer & dryer located just outside your entry door. Soap is provided. It is shared.

(Note: yes, the entire flat is yours. Your private entrance is completely separate from the downstairs flat. No adjoining doors.) The open plan of this flat makes it a perfect place to enjoy time with family—or lots of “me” time! The full kitchen means you can cook to your heart’s delight… or serve up hot, delicious takeout from one of the many excellent nearby restaurants. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival theatres are 3 blocks away—and the plays are outstanding. For groceries, the Ashland Co-op is 1 block from you. Park in back and take the charming path to your front door, or park on B Street and walk right up! Enjoy a warm cup of tea as you look across the Rogue Valley to snow-covered hills in winter, or green hills in spring. Ski at nearby Mt Ashland in winter, or swim in Emigrant Lake, a 20-minute drive away. Saunter up to the Main Street shops, and do not miss Paddington Station, one of the hallmark Ashland shops for tourists, cooks, or jewelry aficionados. Then head to Bloomsbury Books for the latest Jack Reacher novel, and lose yourself in the story over a latte in the upstairs cafe. Ashland has something for everyone!

NB: there is some noise from the Post Office at 5am. Some light sleepers may be disturbed.

The Space:
Suite 3 is a private suite located in a portion of the historical Matriarch Heritage House, built in 1894. Suite 3 has it's own entrance and is completely self sustained. Suite 3 offers a king sized bedroom with additional closet space. Separate living area with couch, TV and complementary Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu.. Need a workspace? We've got you covered with additional bistro table sitting for those last minute Zoom calls.

The french bistro kitchenette offers a space to prepare appetizers and light meals. Toaster, microwave, dishes, cutlery, mini refrigerator and a sink are all supplied. We do not offer a cooktop at this time but there is a communal BBQ in the yard during the sunny season.

Please note: Suite 3 shares a wall and is under the top floor of The Matriarch Heritage House. This house is over 100 years old and you will likely hear sounds of life in this heritage home. Please thoughtfully consider these before booking.

About this space Welcome to your Hyatt Prairie Cabin with views and a two person Hot Tub! The primary bedroom, located in the 56″ tall sleeping loft, has a queen size bed, the downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and 43″ Smart TV and the living room has a queen sleeper sofa with a 55″ Smart TV (plus surround sound soundbar). Full kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. The cabin has a two person Hot Tub, BBQ, hammock, deck, (electric) wood stove, ‘smart’ TV, DVD player, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi.

The Loft on the Lane is a one bedroom flat/studio located on the second floor with a view of Grizzly Peak from the front porch. Comfortable for 2 guests and at 7 blocks from the Ashland Plaza, it's easy access to the park, food, and entertainment by foot or bicycle.

The Loft on the Lane can be rented separately or at a discount with the Court on the Lane listing for those who need additional room or privacy.

The space
The Loft on the Lane is a lovely, furnished 1 bedroom apartment located on the second floor of the Court on the Lane. The Loft is located in the historic Skidmore district in Ashland, a quiet, residential area close to down town. The walk to Ashland's plaza is around 15 minutes or 7ish blocks.

The Loft has a deck, off-steet parking, WIFI, TV and A/C. In the small living room, you will find a sofa and a dining table with 2 chairs. There is a queen bed in the bedroom. The kitchen has cook ware and dishes, a Larger mini-fridge, convection oven, and microwave. The bathroom has a shower, no tub. The deck has a bistro table, chair and a lovely view of the hills and Grizzly Peak.

There is a single marked parking space reserved for the Loft on the Lane in the shared off-street parking with the Court on the Lane listing.

End-of-stay cleaning is $50.

Bikes are welcome but must be left outside, either on the porch or in the bike rack on the fence in the parking area. There is a cable, just bring your own lock.

Suite 2 is located on the second floor in the historical carriage house of The Matriarch. This building is detached from the original historic home. Please note that Suite 1 is located below you on the first floor.

Suite 3 is a private suite located in a portion of the historical Matriarch Heritage House, built in 1894. Suite 3 has it's own entrance and is completely self sustained. Suite 3 offers a king sized bedroom with additional closet space. Separate living area with couch, TV and complementary Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu.. Need a workspace? We've got you covered with additional bistro table sitting for those last minute Zoom calls.

The french bistro kitchenette offers a space to prepare appetizers and light meals. Toaster, microwave, dishes, cutlery, mini refrigerator and a sink are all supplied. We do not offer a cooktop at this time but there is a communal BBQ in the yard during the sunny season.

Please note: Suite 3 shares a wall and is under the top floor of The Matriarch Heritage House. This house is over 100 years old and you will likely hear sounds of life in this heritage home. Please thoughtfully consider these before booking.

Our apartment accommodates up to 4 guests and is a standalone 480 sq. ft. space located above the garage, distinct from the main house. It would not be comfortable for two couples though, I think it would feel crowded.

It's positioned across the yard, separated by the pool which is available for use during June, July, and August.

The apartment features a queen sofa sleeper in the living room and a four-poster queen bed in the primary bedroom.
**Please note that the bathroom is accessible from the primary bedroom, so guests in the living room will need to pass through it to access the bathroom.

The SmartTVs are equipped with Roku and are set to Guest Mode. In Guest Mode, you can sign into your own apps to watch your shows. On a date that you select, you will be automatically signed out.

A spacious closet in the bathroom, a small dresser in the primary bedroom, and various amenities, including linens, towels, toiletries, and kitchen essentials.

There's a small porch with seating, Wi-Fi, and a concierge book for your convenience.

We have a dog named Max on the property, but we cannot accommodate guest pets due to potential allergies of our other guests.

This is a 2nd floor apartment over the garage and is not attached to the main house where we live. You must go up a flight of stairs to access the home.

Arrival Ease: In my Welcome Email, I give specifics such as address, where to park and how to enter the room. There is no “check-in” process involving me as your Host. Your room will be clean and ready whenever your party arrives after 3pm, and you can arrive any time day or night.

Guests are welcome to use the pool which is open from June to August, and the yard which is shared.

Other things to note
If you typically use a washcloth to remove makeup or mascara, I kindly request that you either bring your own washcloth for this purpose or consider using makeup remover pads. We ask that our washcloths not be used for makeup removal. It's a bit perplexing, but it appears that the makeup products nowadays contain something that no amount of SHOUT or Oxyclean can effectively remove.

Additionally, it's worth noting that Ashland experiences a regular mowing and blowing of lawns every Monday. To make your stay more enjoyable, I've arranged for our gardener (who also maintains neighboring yards) to begin work after 9 am. On Tuesdays, the trash pickup can sometimes seem like an ongoing process.

Furthermore, we have two older dogs, a lab, and a shepherd. They have their own designated area where they like to relax, and they are quite friendly if you ever want to enjoy some quality time with our furry companions.
