900 square foot cabin between Howard Prairie and Hyatt lakes. Granite kitchen and bathroom. Rustic knotty hickory cabinets and wood trim. With hardwood floors through out. Two bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bath, sofa sleeper in living room. Futon, fire pit and dart board on covered porch. Hike, bike, fish, snowmobile, cross country skiing or just relax. Pacific Crest trail just down the road. 30 minute drive to down town Ashland and the Shakespeare Festival. Close to restaurants Hyatt Lake Resort & Lounge, Greensprings restaurant, Howard Praire Resort (seasonal).
- "Very nice, clean cabin that looks somewhat rustic but with all the modern amenities. Loved the large porch area with the outdoor fireplace. Cabin is located close to the PCT, a nordic trail system as well as Hyatt Lake and Howard Prairie for a variety of outdoor adventures. Host was excellent to respond to any requests or questions we had." - "We have stayed at many cabins in our travels and this was, by far, the best. It is well laid out, has a great kitchen, it is stocked with everything you will need and it is in great shape. There are plenty of cooking utensils, spices, etc. We didn’t lack anything. The cabin is on a small property between two other cabins and right off the road. I’m a big fan of complete privacy so I was a bit concerned by this. But, there was almost no traffic on the road, no one was every at the one cabin and an older man was at the other cabin but he was quiet so we barely knew he was there. There outdoor area is very nice with a beautiful porch with a couch, chairs and a propane fire table. There is a very nice grill and darts and horseshoes outside too. We went swimming at Howard Prairie and Hyatt Prairie lakes. They are both a bit rough because the low water levels means it can be rocky and muddy leading up to the water. I would recommend going to Hyatt Prairie. We found a decent spot in one of the campgrounds. We stayed here for a week and were sad to leave. We would come back in a heartbeat."

The Cabin, also affectionately known historically as the Raggedy Ann House, was built around 1920. One hundred years later, the little cabin was moved about 50 feet from its original location and lovingly updated to the meet modern codes and standards of today. The exterior remains intact as does the beautifully aged Douglas Fir ceiling and a few of the interior walls.

PS thanks for the little extened checkout. Looking forward to a return. PSPS this cabin is handicap accessible and allows dogs! Thanks again." - "If ever I were to own a cabin, it would be of the design of this one. Rustic feel with solid and complete foundational amenities. Greats: cathedral ceiling/loft/windows, large porch, bbq, wood stove, no TV, solid internet, great shower and bathroom, firm and comfortable mattresses. Nit-picky cons: jacuzzi isn't really a traditional hot tub, 30 min drive to/from Ashland on a very winding (yet picturesque) road, check-out time of 10am with $35 fee to extend to noon. Really enjoyed our stay, will consider coming back!"

- "My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Mayfield Gardens cabin and loved every minute. The cabin was spotless and was well stocked with everything I could possibly need. I especially loved the peaceful setting, so very quiet and peaceful. We’ll be back." - "We had a great two-night stay. Beautiful home. No hair dryer, which was listed as an amenity, was a not so happy surprise."

- "This cabin was far enough from the others. Very remote. The lodge/ restaurant was great. Super nice and patient folks. The cabin supplied all the things you’d need to cook. And very clean. A little confusing about check out as far as what to do with towels and linens. But I give it 5 stars and go again. Thank you for the experience."

- "Upon arriving, I was surprised at how secluded it was. But after getting settled I was at peace with the trees, animals, and clean air that would become my "home" for 5 days. Rachel and her lovely daughter, Zoey, met me and made me feel welcome and offered help whenever I needed. I was sure I would be up and down the hill going into town but instead, found the nearby restaurant with enough good food and essentials to last my stay - along with what I brought from home. The kitchen well stocked and everything needed was right there. No TV?... no problem. No network news is good news. My son and his wife joined me from Portland after a couple days and our only trip to town was on the final day - where we said goodbye to each other and 'Greensprings Wildlife Sanctuary'. Looking forward to a re-visit."

We pack up all the toys, books, & art supplies to provide an open space to stay but if you have small children & would like to enjoy some instead of lugging a bunch of toys up! We are happy to share & provide a fun stay!
Cooking & baking are some of our favorite things to do up here on the Mountain together! So we are fully stocked with all the baking supplies & spices you could dream of! Including all the tools, coffee, and tea to keep you on task.
Please use what you like.. the only rule is to have fun & be a little messy!

Our house is three stories but the bottom floor is our work shed area which is off limits. The second story has two bedrooms with a full bathroom, a living room with a TV, and a linen closet that is full of board games and a DVD player. There also is a desk and monitor in case you have to finish some work but be close to the kiddos. The washer & dryer is also on this floor!
The top story has the kitchen, main living room, and the master bedroom with a large deep tub to get all the kids in after a long day playing outside. The star feature here is the wrap-around deck that has access from the living room and the master bedroom. I also have child locks on all the doors to open everything up and feel safe.
The wood-burning stove is off limits but there are a few plug-in heaters in the linen closet that can heat the whole up or down stairs.
Other things to note
Our space is about a 30-minute drive from town but trust the drive is beautiful! Plus you can stop at a winery or small farm on the way up. We live up a dirt road, about a mile up from the main road, so be ready for an adventure from the start! Drive slow so it doesn't kick up dirt to our neighbors :)
